So just checked in to our Wish for next month (did the midnight refresh)

I was able to grab a 11.45-12 PAT, and was assigned boarding group #11.

Question
How many boarding groups are there?
is #11 good?

We traveled once back in 2022, and used DCL transport from Pop Century. I recall leaving very early around 8am, and our boarding group was #3 or something.

Besides doing DCL transport(which I'd like to avoid due to leaving so early), is there any other way to bump up boarding group?
do earlier PAT times open up on website, and if i get an earlier one will that move my boarding group up?

The only ways to get an earlier boarding group at Port Canaveral are to sail as Concierge (or on a back-to-back cruise), take Disney transportation from a hotel, or keep checking online and get lucky if an earlier slot opens.

But I don’t think it would make a huge difference? I believe the earliest that people get on the ship might be 11?

45 minutes shouldn’t make or break the enjoyment of your cruise.

11;45 is a really good one. Due to poor planning on my part ( set clock for 11:40 am instead of pm). I woke up at 1:35 am and checked in at that time. We got 12:15 to 12:15 and are #16 for our cruise this Friday
Boarding group 11 is good as is 11:45. I believe that is the first or close to first one that silver or non castaway club members generally get.
The last time on the Wish we had 12-12-15 boarding group 14 and basically walked through check in and on to the ship

On the Wish in July, we had a 11:30 PAT and boarding group 8. By the time we got into the terminal, through security and check-in, they were calling group 5. We had maybe a 10-15 minute wait (while watching very few/no people in groups 6/7) before our group was called. The layout of Terminal 10 was great - it doesn't really allow much gathering around the embarkation area, so you don't have to elbow through people in order to scan onto the ship.

Boarding typically doesn’t begin until about 11:30am, give or take.

OP, that’s a good PAT and should avoid a lot of waiting/crowds in the terminal. Likely by the time you get through security and checkin it will be minimal wait until they call your boarding number.
