We would love to hear about your trip on the first trip out from NYC!!!! There is many waiting readers![]()

info greatly appreciated!i just got off the Magic today and we had a great time! Except for the first sea day, the weather cooperated and was beautiful. Very Very hot in Orlando, but a great day at Castaway Cay!
Any specific questions, I'll gladly answer if I can!

I was sort of annoyed at the LONG line to register the kids for the Oceaneers Club. There were 4-5 cast members doing the check in, and the line was very slow moving. In the end it didn't matter because we would've had to wait to board anyway, but I never enjoy standing in long lines. lolIf you have Navigators, would you please post!!
Was there a character breakfast?
How was the trip to and from WDW? Are there bathrooms on those buses?
Was there a mechancial issue yesterday on your return trip? It was posted somewhere that everything shut down for a some time.
TIA and welcome home!

I have the nav's, but still have a lot of unpacking to do. If no one else posts I'll try to get them up.
There was a character breakfast! It was fun. Characters didn't spend much time with us, but it was nice.
The trip to and from WDW was fine. We were told it was a 45min drive, but it seemed longer. Not sure if there were bathrooms... They were the Disney Cruise Line buses that are sometimes used at the parks.
Yes, on the return trip there were some problems with the propulsion which caused the ship to stop moving and shut down the internet, wave phones and
registers. The Captain kept us all up to date with what was going on. I heard rumors about white smoke but cannot confirm if it is true or not. We stopped moving around 5:15pm and were probably up and running around 6:45pm. I remember because we were getting ready for dinner when we stopped, and we were eating dinner when we started moving again.

Thank you so much!!! One more question about the buses, how did the return trip from WDW work? Was there a pickup at each park? How often? Did you have to travel to all the parks to pick up people before leaving? (space permitting of course!)

Welcome Back!
1) What time did the NYC cruise terminal open to passengers? not sure, we were told to be there by 1pm
2) How was the check-in, embarkation process? I touched on this a little in my other reply, but it wasn't bad at all. There was some waiting, but that might have been because we were earlier than when we were told to be there.
3) On WDW day, was there any breakfast available for people boarding the earliest bus? (6:30am) We chose to get room service, but I do believe Topsiders was open..I'd have to check the nav to be sure.
4) Did you have to go through customs on the Port Canaveral stop? Yes, but it was SUPER fast. Didn't slow us down at all.
5) Were you able to use your KTTW card from the ship at WDW? The ship KTTW was our park ticket but you couldn't use it to charge anything at the parks.
6) Were there any special offers or credits offered to Magic passengers at WDW? Nope. This was my only gripe; I wish they had given us a voucher for a snack at least. But they didn't and we didn't dwell.
7) Did anyone do the illuminations dessert party? Where was party held? Where was the viewing area? Not sure.
8) Do we need our passports to get back on the ship at Port Canaveral? We brought them because we were told we'd need ID but we never needed them.
9) Were all of the stage shows offered during the day on sea days? Or just one or two of them? Hmmm...I don't remember any of the shows being shown earlier. I do know it's done, but I don't think I ever saw it on this cruise. Could be wrong though, seeing as we spent all day every day at the Mickey pool. LOL.
10) What were the dining rotations? Ours was 5:45pm LAPLAAPL. AP show was on the second day we were there.

My replies in bold.
HTH!!
Welcome Back!
1) What time did the NYC cruise terminal open to passengers?
When we got off this AM at 9:15 there were already passengers there waiting (according to our luggage handler), but they were no where close to getting all the people off the ship, I definitely wouldn't get there til your check in time, or you will be killing a lot of time with not much to do!
2) How was the check-in, embarkation process?
Check in and Embarkation were easy. It was a lot of waiting. We got there for an 11am check in and the ship was just pulling in from the trip up. I'm not able to speak to what it was like today, since there were no guests getting off, when we got on!
3) On WDW day, was there any breakfast available for people boarding the earliest bus? (6:30am)
Breakfast opened at 5:45 am in Topsiders
4) Did you have to go through customs on the Port Canaveral stop?
You needed passports, but there was no customs declaration. We did customs today upon departure in NYC
5) Were you able to use your KTTW card from the ship at WDW?
Yep, same card.
6) Were there any special offers or credits offered to Magic passengers at WDW?
They do link the Photo Pass to the ship and if you purchase the ships package you get all the photopass pictures as well, so long as you use the cruise line photo pass card.
7) Did anyone do the illuminations dessert party? Where was party held? Where was the viewing area?
No info here, sorry!
8) Do we need our passports to get back on the ship at Port Canaveral?
You needed passports to get off, but they just asked for photo id to get back on.
9) Were all of the stage shows offered during the day on sea days? Or just one or two of them?
I don't remember seeing any shows listed during the day, but then again, I wasn't looking. I don't have my navigators anymore! Sorry!
10) What were the dining rotations?
Our rotation was:
PLAPLLAP
But on the Magic Kingdom night there was no assigned dinner. All of the restaurants were open at differing times to accomodate everyone throughout the evening.

Take a taxi from times square to port.Anyone take the post cruise excursion that also takes you to the airport?
Also, any suggestions for a family of 5 on how to get from airport to hotel in Times Square and from hotel to port.
