Who's back from the Magic today???

they had the no upgrades sign up, but our servers reported that the ship was not full and short a couple of hundred people. Our 2nd seating had alot of empty tables and seats on our rotation.

I have been looking for a post regarding upgrades. This is very disappointing :sad2: . We were hoping to try to get an upgrade once we got to the terminal. Why in the world woudn't they sale upgrades? You would think that if they could get another $500 or whatever for a stateroom they would. Maybe this will change. I was hoping for an 11:00 arrival time but we got the 11:30 but hey, I'll surely take it. It could have been a lot later! Thanks for all of the information you provided for us upcoming cruisers :flower3: .

There can be no rooms left but the ship not at capacity. If you have 2 people in a rooms that holds 3-5 the ship is sold out but not at capacity.

Or maybe there is a situation where all the ocean view and verandah rooms are full but there are many inside cabins left.

Thanks for all the information! We are sailing 09/02 and can't wait it...

I see that the early dinner time is 5.45, can someone please tell us what time the late dining time is. Thank you

Thank you, I was hoping for nearer 8 but as long as it is not later. Would you get in to the dining room at 8 pm if you went there then. Thanks

The doors don't open til the assigned time. If you get there earlier you need to wait outside til they open the door.

Does anyone have a picture of the Master Chef menu? That's the only one we haven't found anywhere...

Thank you everyone for the great information. If anyone has the navigators and menus to post that would be great.

My first question is for my husband, does anyone know if there is turkey legs on the buffet or avail any time during the cruise?

What characters are avail during the character dining?

Thanks so much, it sounds like you have a "Magical" time...

I found the Master Chef menu here, along w/ all the others. They are from previous cruises, so I do not know how much they have changed.

Hi ! Welcome Back, Glad you had a great cruise. Some questions...
1. Was the terminal Disneyfied in any way? Were there characters and/or photographers in the terminal at embarkation?
2. Did you eat at Topsiders on embarkation, was it packed?
3. Did they have the updated horn songs (everyone has been talking about, i.e. NY NY )?
4. Did the Sailaway party last all the way to the Verrazano? Was is packed?
5. Were the rooms ready on time?
6. You mentioned the specific NYC items for the cruises, were they ever sold out, or did it seem like they had enough?
7. Did you see alot of little girls in princess dresses at the dinners or around the ship?
8. Did you order room service, anything interesting, Can you either confirm or deny the availability of Mickey ice cream bars, rice krispie heads...?
9. How was the food ikn each of the restaurants?
10. MOST important of all...Did you hear ANY of the staff mention anything about what would be happening on the 2 nighter cruises? I am , of course, on the first one and am dying to know about how they will adjust it down from and 8 nighter to give us a valid taste of a Disney cruise.....
Thanks in advance for any answers you can provide :thumbsup2
Oh, and all us Disers will be eternally greatful to you if you would be able to post pics of any and everything you can !

What is the best dining rotation based on the dress attire? I am a first time cruiser and think that I want to be in Parrot Cay for Pirate Night and Lumieres for formal night. Or is their a better recommendation. I also do not want to miss the Animators Palette show.

Thank you Twinnybelles for posting all those questions. Most of them were just what I was about to ask about. Can't wait to hear the replies. Am really excited about our upcoming cruise.

Hi ! Welcome Back, Glad you had a great cruise. Some questions...
1. Was the terminal Disneyfied in any way? Were there characters and/or photographers in the terminal at embarkation?
There were DCL banners all over the place, the people there were all dressed in DCL uniforms, and there was the usual embarkation photo taken before getting on to the ship. I didn't see characters in the terminal but we got there late and then just walked right onto the ship.

2. Did you eat at Topsiders on embarkation, was it packed?
We ate at Parrot Cay and it wasn't packed, in my opinion.

3. Did they have the updated horn songs (everyone has been talking about, i.e. NY NY )?
I only noticed the usual "When you wish upon a star" horn.

4. Did the Sailaway party last all the way to the Verrazano? Was is packed?
The sailaway lasted quite a while, I think all the way to the bridge. It was packed but we were on deck 10 and it was fine, plenty of room. It was fun, they gave everyone big white Mickey hands that were flat and attached to a stick,so we could wave them. They had our exact sail date printed on the bottom. Not sure if this was just for the inaugural, or if they'll do it for all NYC cruises.

5. Were the rooms ready on time?
Yes

6. You mentioned the specific NYC items for the cruises, were they ever sold out, or did it seem like they had enough?
They had ton of NYC specific items, and they were never sold out.

7. Did you see alot of little girls in princess dresses at the dinners or around the ship?
Yes, all the time. Very cute.

8. Did you order room service, anything interesting, Can you either confirm or deny the availability of Mickey ice cream bars, rice krispie heads...?
We ordered room service a lot. Yes the Mickey Ice Cream bars were on board! :) I didn't notice rice krispie treats but I didn't ask about them.

9. How was the food ikn each of the restaurants?
I really liked the food on this cruise.

10. MOST important of all...Did you hear ANY of the staff mention anything about what would be happening on the 2 nighter cruises?
No, sorry didnt hear anything about the 2 nighters, but did see a 2 night specific pin in the shops.

I am , of course, on the first one and am dying to know about how they will adjust it down from and 8 nighter to give us a valid taste of a Disney cruise.....

Please see my replies above. :)

On the cruise did you have an opportunity to purchase a mug, like oyu do in the resorts to use for your soft drinks?

I'll reply as best I can. :) My replies in bold.

Hi ! Welcome Back, Glad you had a great cruise. Some questions...
1. Was the terminal Disneyfied in any way? Were there characters and/or photographers in the terminal at embarkation? It was pretty festive IMO. It wasn't Port Canveral, but they did a good job making it an obvious start to a Disney cruise. Mickey and Minnie were there for pics.

2. Did you eat at Topsiders on embarkation, was it packed? We ate at Topsiders when we arrived on the ship. Since the rooms were available we dropped off our stuff before going up there. It was busy, but we found a table for 6 very easily.

3. Did they have the updated horn songs (everyone has been talking about, i.e. NY NY )? You know, I've heard this mentioned, but I only heard the regular horn at the sail away party. We went back to our room shortly after to quickly unpack so I'm really not sure if it played any other horns. Sorta bummed if they did and we missed it though.

4. Did the Sailaway party last all the way to the Verrazano? Was is packed? Party lasted quite a while. Was crowded, but managable.

5. Were the rooms ready on time? We were on the ship by 1:45pm and our rooms were ready at 1:30pm

6. You mentioned the specific NYC items for the cruises, were they ever sold out, or did it seem like they had enough? They had lots of NYC specific items and I never saw them run out (then again, we were on the 1st cruise so...)

7. Did you see alot of little girls in princess dresses at the dinners or around the ship? All day every day. ;) Lots of girls wore their dresses to dinner and around the ship all the time.

8. Did you order room service, anything interesting, Can you either confirm or deny the availability of Mickey ice cream bars, rice krispie heads...? We only ordered breakfast from room service, it was fine. Nothing too exciting. We never ordered lunch/dinner or cookies and milk because we were always full. Can confirm with 100% certainty that there were Mickey bars; my kids ate them every single night at dinner. Our waiter brought them out the first night before we even asked. My husband even had one. :) I saw rice krispie heads in the gift shop for sale, but not around the ship to eat.

9. How was the food ikn each of the restaurants? Food was great. Not any complaints from all four of the adults in our party.

10. MOST important of all...Did you hear ANY of the staff mention anything about what would be happening on the 2 nighter cruises? I am , of course, on the first one and am dying to know about how they will adjust it down from and 8 nighter to give us a valid taste of a Disney cruise..... I'm sorry, I have no idea. We never asked and we never heard anything about it.

Thanks in advance for any answers you can provide :thumbsup2

HTH!!

Seaspray,

Can you share your impressions of the sea days? Was the pool extremely busy? How was WDW? Did you do any excursions in Nassau? What was the show schedule? Can you give us an overall summary of your experience?

Anyone park at the port? If so, was it crowded? We have a boarding time of 11:30 and we are hoping to arrive around 11. Will we be fighting the traffic of those leaving?
