Today we made our first DVC reservation. We just bought BWV through resale, closed on our contract on Apr. 2. Called today, and we were in the system.
We were able to book a standard view studio at BWV for 7 of our 8 nights for the last week of August and are on the waitlist to complete our reservation so we do not have to move halfway through our trip. The one other night we currently have booked is a Boardwalk view 1 bedroom. I am half tempted to just keep it as it is, just to see how great those boardwalk views and one bedrooms really are, but on the other hand we only have it for one night, so we will be moving back to a studio for our last three nights.
It makes sense to stay in the same room for the entire trip, right? ... assuming that the waitlist comes through. Need some guidance here. We only bought a 100 point contract (but got a loaded one) and since we want to try to maximize our points, we will mostly be staying in studios for most of our trips...I almost think that getting this 1 br even for one night might make us miss having the extra room. My thinking, you can't really miss something you never had. Despite this very minor dilemma, I am absolutely thrilled to have gotten the standard view at all. I was expecting to maybe not even be able to get into BWV at all, and I was OK staying anywhere, but going to our home resort on our first trip just seems a bit sweeter. And I had a wonderful, very helpful person at MS which made my first experience a very enjoyable one.
In all my excitement, I completely forgot to put in any room location requests or to ask about how to log on to DVC member services online, so if anyone has any good ideas or information about doing that, please tell. I also just got my DVC vacation planner today, after I made my call, which just made it a total DISNEY DAY for me.
And a heartfelt thankyou to all of you out there who provide such honest and useful information, which I used to in making our purchase to begin with.
