Today we made our first DVC reservation. We just bought BWV through resale, closed on our contract on Apr. 2. Called today, and we were in the system.

We were able to book a standard view studio at BWV for 7 of our 8 nights for the last week of August and are on the waitlist to complete our reservation so we do not have to move halfway through our trip. The one other night we currently have booked is a Boardwalk view 1 bedroom. I am half tempted to just keep it as it is, just to see how great those boardwalk views and one bedrooms really are, but on the other hand we only have it for one night, so we will be moving back to a studio for our last three nights.

It makes sense to stay in the same room for the entire trip, right? ... assuming that the waitlist comes through. Need some guidance here. We only bought a 100 point contract (but got a loaded one) and since we want to try to maximize our points, we will mostly be staying in studios for most of our trips...I almost think that getting this 1 br even for one night might make us miss having the extra room. My thinking, you can't really miss something you never had. Despite this very minor dilemma, I am absolutely thrilled to have gotten the standard view at all. I was expecting to maybe not even be able to get into BWV at all, and I was OK staying anywhere, but going to our home resort on our first trip just seems a bit sweeter. And I had a wonderful, very helpful person at MS which made my first experience a very enjoyable one.

In all my excitement, I completely forgot to put in any room location requests or to ask about how to log on to DVC member services online, so if anyone has any good ideas or information about doing that, please tell. I also just got my DVC vacation planner today, after I made my call, which just made it a total DISNEY DAY for me.

And a heartfelt thankyou to all of you out there who provide such honest and useful information, which I used to in making our purchase to begin with.

Awesome!! We just bought our BWV resale and made our ressies on Apr 2, as well... not as lucky as we wound up w/ preferred view rather than BWV for our Sept trip, but we at least got in and got the 2-bed that we wanted.

I would think that staying the same room the whole time would be better, but I haven't stayed DVC yet so I am likely npt the person to ask.

I am eagerly awaiting the info on how to get website access, as I need to do the same! Isn't getting the planner the best! :woohoo:

Your so lucky and I know you will enjoy your stay. I am actually on a waitlist for a BWV studio, standard view. Right now, we have a preferred view booked, but we would rather save the points. Enjoy and welcome to DVC:thumbsup2

I think we may have lucked out with our timing. Perhaps there were some cancellations with people moving to other resorts to get free dining. Hopefully it won't be awfully crowded.

Yeah HockeyKat, me and the kids looked through it all night together. There sure will be lots of good memories in the making for all these future trips. Congrats on your recent purchase too.

DonaldsGrl103, hope you get your waitlist.

I hate moving during my vacation, so I hope that your waitlist comes through. Regarding requests, since you have standard view I would ask for "across from bus stop" because you will have a nice view of Epcot fireworks.
Welcome Home, Neighbor!

Congratulations and welcome home! It's great that you will spend your first DVC vacation at your home resort! And weather you get your waitlist or not, you'll win either way!

If your waitlist comes throught, you'll have the convience of staying in one room for the entire vacation. If the waitlist doesn't happen, experience the luxury and enjoy the thrill of a spacious 1 bedroom with a glorious view! Use that day to take advantage of all the extra amenities of a one bedroom: get all the clothes cleaned with an in-room washer and dryer, bring a bottle of champage to relax in the jacuzzi, and if you like to cook do a "change of pace" fantastic dinner "at home" that night in an excellently equipped kitchen!

Either way, I'm sure you'll have a blast!

Best wishes,
Dave

Thank you Jean for your recommendation. I think I recall reading about rooms across from the bus stop. Is there a flight of stairs near the end of the building that make it convenient to get to the outside? Is this a convenient location for being near the Community Hall? I expect that in the heat of the day and during the daily rain, that we will spend a significant amount of time relaxing there.

Thank you to Dave as well. If the waitlist doesn't come through I am still at the BWV and will probably not even leave the room that day.

I am so happy!!!

Yes there are stairs to the outside almost directly across from the bus stop. Very convenient. I can't speak to access to Community Hall because we have not used it much. Have a great time!

Congratulations! I am a new DVC member too! Purchased last September but won’t be going until November….and it’s KILLING ME. :scared: We are waiting until our newest grandchild is a little older – he’ll be 11 months by Thanksgiving! :) We'll have four grandkids with us..ages 11 yr. DGS; 4 yr. DGD; 18 mo. DGD and 11 mo. DGS...plus their parents ...after all I'm not totally crazy! :rotfl2:

I’ve been reading the Disboards daily and counting the days down…sometimes, I get nervous on some of the things I read about the BWV…that’s our home resort; but most of you sound like you LOVE it! Any comments? :confused3
