We are wondering if we should wait a year for our wdw trip because we now must make a trip to dl for the 60th.

My question is, who would wait a year. What would be done by next Dec (2016?)
I know there is a lot of new things coming to wdw but not sure we should wait or still go.
If we still go we are planing a coast to coast starting in DL then fly to wdw and fly home.

Any suggestions? For 2 adults, 1 Disney adult (13)

We are actually skipping the parks this year.. We are thinking of possibly going on a Disney cruise since we have never been on a cruise of any kind before.. We are also thinking since we are not going to WDW this year maybe we would go to Disney Aulani next year...

DH and I are doing a grown ups only weekend trip this year, because we want to get Star Wars weekend in before the new movie comes out, then we are waiting until at least 2016 to do another big trip. I'm thinking going this year, there won't be much different then when we went in November, but if we wait until next year a lot of the construction projects that were going on the last time we were there will be complete and it'll be a new experience.

However, your plan to do coast to coast sounds fantastic, and if I could afford it, I would steal your idea ;) :thumbsup2

Thank you. My son also loves the Coast to Coast Idea. I am just going back and forth trying to figure out if we go to both, or just go to DL this year and save up more for wdw.
We have waited almost 10 years to try and redo our first wdw trip and I thought this year I could try and fit it in.
Then the dl 60th was announced and it became a OMG we must go there too.

If it's one or the other, I would certainly go for DLR this year. Doing both would be optimal, of course. If you wait, some of the construction currently underway at MK should be complete, and Disney Springs will be further along. Of course there will be other projects by that time too(Avatarland or Star Wars at DHS?).

I know what you mean about the 60th at DL. My wife and I are headed to WDW in 2 weeks, and we're talking about a trip out west to visit her parents over the summer. The DL 60th anniversary has gone a long way towards making that trip a reality.

Disneyland is awesome. I know it's smaller, less to do there, but the place totally has the Mickey mojo. :earsboy:

Even though I'm a lifelong east coaster, my first Disney park was Disneyland (and not until I was in my mid 20s). For my CA native wife, Disneyland will always be special; it's what she grew up with. We make it a point to spend a day at DL every time we go see her parents.

Go for the Disney Cruise! We just went on our first Disney cruise, our first ever cruise too. It was amazing! We did 7 night Eastern Caribbean on the Fantasy. Stopped in St Thomas, San Juan, and Castaway Cay. So much fun! So much to do on the ship, kids clubs, family and adult game shows, live theater, movies, character meets, pirate night, omg the list could go on forever! Lots of different port excursions, and Castaway Cay was beautiful, relaxing, and so fun! We are already planning another cruise for January 2016! :goodvibes

Thanks every one. Yes both would be optimal. We are Dl Vets at heart. It is our home away from home and we would love to see all the special things this year. I am leaning more towards wdw in 2016 and Dl this Christmas again. (went last year for the race I entered)
If we waited another year we could save, or start paying off our trip and have it mostly paid off over two years. We could have a longer trip to dl this year not just a quick 3 day trip.
There are so many +'s for waiting it's stacking high against me. "But I don't want to wait another year" excuse it's been almost 10 years since the first wdw trip that we took with my parents, sister, my toddler at the time son and my hubby. To much went wrong on that trip. I want this next one to be perfect.

Maybe more Fp+ will be available next year, maybe more things will be open. I know the new nighttime show in AK will be done next year.

I wish I knew what else was would be done next year. DtD looks like a mess now, and if its closer to being done next year maybe that's another nail in the coffin.
