Good luck at your competition tnkrbell! How exciting! Hopefully I'll be a cheer mom in the future, and it would be so neat to relive my cheer memories on a parent team!
Good luck to your girls polkadotminnie! That's sad that your little one won't be cheering next year, but she's so young that she might pick it back up in the future.
And it's not just UCA that has changed their divisions. It's the entire USASF, which is the governing body that sets all of the rules and guidelines for all star cheerleading. They are trying to combine the younger divisions to put more competitors in each group. Since the younger divisions were so spread out, there would sometimes only be a few teams, or not any, for teams to compete against. That can be very frustrating for coaches, parents and kids that have worked very hard and paid a lot of money. This will make each division more competitive, and consolidate the ages similar to the Junior and Senior divisions.
