Who will be there for Cheerleading...

Stepharia congratulations on the bid to worlds. The owner of our gym (Titan All Stars) will be judging them!!! Her name is Daniele vanOssenbruggen Mehringer.

GOOD LUCK!!1 :cheer2: :cheer2:

We are done for the year. Tryouts for next year are in three weeks. Some of you must really do a lot of competitions. We only competed twice before UCA Nationals in Orlando. Those of you who go to a lot of competitions, I am curious as to how much you spend on All-Stars. It can get quite exspensive...

How true. We compete and travel extensively...all 15 teams.

My daughter is now in her final year at Stingrays. My DW and I "kid" that we could have paid for her College Education with what we have spent the last five years. (She was an original Stingray when the program started)

It has been a wonderful experience, one that we will never forget/regret.

On the bright side...she has offers to cheer at 7 Colleges...maybe it did PAY off in the long run. :rotfl:

We have 4 kids that cheer...I am now the owners assistant to help work off some of the cost. If we paid EVERYTHING (I work off the tuition) it would have cost about $10,000 this year!!!!!! :lmao: :rotfl:

Our season ends at the end of April. We have the month of May off and try outs are May 21 &22. Then we begin practice June 1st!

I think we have spent about $3,000 for 3 kids cheering and that includes uniforms. But, we have enjoyed every minute of it. ;)

I only have one dd7 in cheerleading but she competed on two teams this past year. Our cost was about $4000 not including uniform. I fundraised everything but my monthly gym fees this past year. We have a lot of good fundraising opportunities and I'm glad because this next year we have to get new uniforms, our cost of camp clothes went up and camp is going to be a little more expensive this year. I do have to agree that cheerleading is an expensive sport and I could definitely pay for college by time she get's there. But she loves it so it's worth it.

We just got back from the American Open in Orlando.
How did you do?? Im sure 1st place!!! :)

Luckly we have not traveled out of Florida so its not as expensive since we do not have to pay plane flights but With competition fee's(7 competitions) uniform fee's hotels and tuition YIKES Dont think I want to add it up!! :) :)
But I have to say it is sooooo worth it!!! We have AWESOME parents and kids so we have so much fun together!! GO GEMZ!!!! :thumbsup2 :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

14 of our 15 teams were National Champions. :thumbsup2
We also won the overall Program Championship.

Thanks for asking!

I have a good idea!!!

How about we share fundraising ideas. Maybe there arey thing that some gyms do that others don't. Our gym is ALWAYS looking for new fundraising ideas.

This year we did Tupperware, cookie dough, candy bars(didn't go well), candles and wrapping paper!!

What did you guys do???

I started to ask the same question but figured that was going to be your answer. Some of our teams have gone against yours at Cheersport. I personally haven't seen your teams because my daughter's team didn't go to Atlanta this past year but I've heard about how good you all are.

I like this idea because I'm always looking for ways to fundraise.

As far as selling stuff we do about the same that you do with the exception of we also do Avon. We get 40% if it doesn't have an astric and 20% if it does.

Our biggest fundraisers though are working fundraisers. We work for Papa John's at both UofL football and basketball games, and at Riverbats (baseball) games. We also work for a company called Brantley. They provide security at the Kentucky Speedway and we also work Oaks and the Kentuck Derby.

If you have a convention center or sports venues in town, check with them. We have another company here in town that a lot of other groups fundraise with. They work games at all the sports venues here in town. It's a good way to make money if you have a few hours of time that you can spare.

We also held some car washes at the beginning of the season. We host a golf scramble. And this year we are looking at getting into hosting bingo's and possibly some Texas Hold 'em tournaments.

Hope these ideas help some of you because I know how expensive this gets.

You know how we did really well was selling t-shirts within the gym. We found a person who makes t-shirts and would give us a good deal and sold them to Gemz family and friends and made enough for mirrors in the gym.
people paid 15.00 for the shirts. you just need a cute slogan we did "Gemz Shine the Brightest"
