Who where the first DISers you met?

I haven't met any yet, but that will change this year for PCC 2.0

We met a couple of DIS'ers at the Lee Cockerell seminar in Dec and talked to a couple at the TSM party but didn't really meet too many. Was a bit intimidated because it seemed like everyone knew so many people already and it was our first DIS'er event. Was really happy to meet DVCMike at the DVC event. Last 3 trips I've worn my LGMH but haven't seen anyone else with them. Hopefully next month I'll see more lime green mickey heads.

Sorry, we weren't trying to ignore you. Many of us had met on PCC 1.0 and really "bonded" then, so we had some catching up to do a whole 6 months later. I've found that we're a pretty easy to talk to bunch of people - and that's from the person that usually winds up standing in a corner at parties. Next time just walk up and say Hi - we won't bite.

The first one (and most infamous!) was Mindy, followed by Tara, Kim and Jeff and Val. There were quite a few others there too. That was in October of 08 and since, because of DAP, I met quite a few more.

It is my pleasure to call some of them now, close friends.

Besides team, agents, and mods, I think my first DISers were MommyC and C/Kat. I was a bit starstruck, and I know I met several more, but meeting Will just knocked everything else into one big jumble...

The one year anniversary dolewhip meet for Bawb was my first DIS meet.

I met Yvette and Emiel, Alex Durani, Will(also a castmemeber), Tommy(also a castmember), Teresa, Christine and another gentleman who just walked up and said hi. The next meet I met Shelly, Kathy, Paul, Alica, Aaron and his family. At the buddy walk I met to many to list.

I haven't met any yet. We had our LGMH on during our trip in January, but didn't see any others. We never seem to be at WDW during any of the events. Hopefully I'll get to meet some during the Hersheypark "Sweet Meet" in August!

I lied! I met a couple of DISers before that meet...one was a woman named Christine who shared her IllumiNations cruise with me, and one was Diane Barrette, who was on the same flight heading down to Disney a few years ago.

At the TSMM Meet in December 2008. A woman's nametag said "you know me". It was UrsulasShadow, Mindy. I talked to a few others, but I didn't really "meet" anyone.

I met Tracey (my room mate for PCC 2.0) when I was bumped off my plane and stranded in Louisville. What luck that was!

I met 2 couples at a DCL House Party in Jan 2008- the host (John & Gayle) and another couple (Andy & ??I forget, sorry). They were all very welcoming and friendly and helped make us even more excited for our very first cruise.

Then I met several more people this past August at a local meet in Menlo Park, NJ. Phyllis (pal mickey)& Frank, Ros Tobe (rtobe), Lois (parrotheadlois) & Greg and Michelle (mymuse). We had a great lunch at the Rainforest Cafe!

I met a whole bunch of terrific people at the GKTW volunteer event at DAP in December. Robbie (Donald is #1) gave me a ride to the event. Dave Parfitt was the first one we met there and he did a terrific job organizing this for all of us. And I had the pleasure of co-piloting the breakfast cart with Emiel. I met Nancy (yellowmickeypnochos) when I drove her around the complex in the breakfast cart while she shot video for her blog. And everyone else volunteering there that day- all such a fun group!

DH & I went to the TSMania party- we met Pete & Walter as everyone was entering the party, but we really didn't meet anyone else. We were with friends from home and we had a blast though!

Looking forward to PCC2.0! I hope we get to know a bunch more DISers on this trip!

You caught me Mindy... I did a Wishes and an Illuminations cruise long before the Podcast was around. DH proposed to me on a Wishes cruise with a buch of other DISers.. There was a newlywed couple, Victoria and Matt, a couple from NO right after Katrina, a father and daughter Scott was the dad's name, a solo travler Carole who we drove back to the boardwalk, and a cute little boy with downs syndrome who's name slips my mind but we have a few great photos with him and he told my DH I could not marry him (DH) becuse I was going to marry this little boy and then proceded to take out his pirate sword and challeng him to a duel... I love DISers!!

I met up locally with MommyCeratops (Kim) for lunch last August since she lives in a neighboring community, and now we get together off and on just to catch up.

Then in October 09 at WDW, I met Pete, Walter, Corey, Julie, Ferris, Teresa, Max, & Kathy at Ferris' Buddy Walk along with many other DISers... including Liz, Rick & Lori. Later in my trip I met Ros for the first time too.

Shellyminnie, Calypso*a*go go, WLFan, John & Kevin and a few others at the dole whip for Bob meet at MK 2008.

I actually met a couple of DISers about two years before this DWFB meet, but it was very brief and there has been no contact since...so meeting all of you is definitely the most memorable experience and one that I cherish.

Let's see- prior to the Podcast cruise 1.0 - i was heading to the pool at the Dolphin by myself. while walking around and taking some pics, Lori and Rick flagged me down and asked if I was a dis'er. They were so sweet and even gave me some cool flamingo beads! What a great first experience!

I am pretty shy in person, so having them flag me down (i had my LGMH on somewhere) was nice!

Let's see Christmas 2006 we met a family that was waiting for their sleigh ride while we were, but I don't remember their name... So I guess the first ones I remember are John and Kevin (and Bawb & fam) and Kevin's Mom and Dad at Candlelight processional- I think 3 Christmas's ago (Rick says 4 but I'm right, he's not).

And it's just gone all wonky from there!
