Who where the first DISers you met?

Are the ones that I can certainly remember. I am sure I met others (as the room was full) but I didn't get to say more than hello to anyone else.

You met me, because I've been to all the DIS meets at Doorway to Dreams. We didn't talk much, and I was not very memorable.

I had attended some of the Chicago area DIS meets to see movies. I think the last time I did a movie meet, it was for "Cars".

Before that, does it count that I met DISers from when we posted to RADP?
I know I met Dan Murphy and John (Towncrier) back in 2001 during a December meet at WDW.

I met a bunch who played VMK. Nikki and Dagny were the last "holdouts" who played that I hadn't met until DIS A Palooza.

Oh, and I met a bunch of DISers over the years at the Epcot Food and Wine Festival. Some were meets and others were coincidental "I'm doing that event, hope to see you there" meetings.

I think I first met Dan Murphy and Tricia (can't think of her DIS name) at a Chicago DIS meet at Woodfield Mall in July 2000 (at Rainforest Cafe) - along with a slew of other DIS people. Lori - I know I met you at a later Chicago DIS meet at a mall - but don't recall if it was just to eat or if we saw a movie, too!

The other, was Debbie T ?, I think, from the camping board. Bob had spoken of her if one of his reports about camping at Fort Wilderness. I spotted her DIS Unplugged shirt at Expedition Everest in May 2008.

Isn't it fun to meet other DISers??? I remember...we were in the single riders' line, for a MUCH faster ride experience!!! It was great to meet you, Michele!

Let's see, I met Bawb, Kevin, John, and I *think* Corey @ the first meet in a small meeting room at the Swolphin in December of... um....2007??? Pete wasn't feeling well that trip, and we didn't get to meet him till the next small meeting, then there was MouseFest, then the PCC 1.0, Toy Story Mania, Disapalooza, and we're looking forward to the PCC 2.0.

We've had the pleasure of meeting a TON of DISers..... especially in the campground area with the green mickey on the motorhome. We tend to wear DIS shirts in the parks, and always get a "hey, who are you on the boards????" a quick acknowledgement, and then on the way.... it's such fun to see others and make that quick connection!

Being a Left Coaster makes it a bit difficult, but I did get to meet Nancy (YellowMickeyPonchos) and Chrysty (PryncessChrysty) at DL last summer. I knwo there were other DISers there too, so forgive me for forgetting your names. I just popped in for a 10 minute hello before heading back to the parks with the family.

I hope to meet more of you in person some day.

I think the first mall meets I did were at Gurnee Mills. I know I met you at one of the mall meets, but I do remember that we saw eachother at WDW at Mister Disney's Nosh Around the World a few years back at the food and wine festival.

I am trying to remember if Becx and Gav, as well as Michael and Carol, were the first ones on our illuminations cruise, or if I met some British Dis-er's before that...

I know who it was!! Back in 1st year of Uni, bit shy, didn't know many people. I posted on the college board to see if any other UK university students around on the boards, got quite a few, and I found another girl at the same university as me, in the same year, taking the same elective course! What are the odds?!? Anyway we met, and have been fantastically good friends ever since (although she abandoned me for a year abroad, she's now in Colorado, which I consider rude!) So I guess she was my first!

I have also met a few Dis-er's at the September Dole Whip Meet- from the top of my head Shelly, Teresa, Katie and Liz were there, I know there were others, but I can't remember right now..

Over the years have had meets all over, from a mall in Cleveland OH, Cincinnati and Columbus zoos, malls, Chicago, WDW and DL and DCL, I am sure there are more over the years

That's right - summer of 2001! And then I saw you again at WDW in late Nov. 2001 (along with a whole bunch of other DISers) at DIS-Con!

It was "free" on the cruise ship! But then I paid $3.50 for one in the Magic Kingdom in January...sooooo good!

It was great to meet you WAY back when at the Yorktown meet, and to see you several times since then - most recently at the Toy Story Mania event in December!

**I know the Yorktown meet was before Sept. 2003, because I remember you telling me about your experience working at The Disney Store. I started working at TDS some time after that - in Sept. 2003.

I met a few crazy DISers at a Jellyrolls meet in December, 2005. Camcolt and TLinden (I think those are their screen names). There were may DISers there that night but I was shy then and stuck to my table But it was a great time!

Apparently I scare people. I have only met two disers- I was in line for a dole whip, two young women were in line and had LGMH's on their bags and so I tapped them and said "Hey are you guys Disers?" They looked like they were scared to death and I pointed to the tag on my bag and said "You know the Disboards- right?" Then they slightly smiled and just said "oh yeah." Then that was it. Haha. I thought- why did they have those on their bags if they didn't want people to say hello?

Oh I forgot, I did meet a couple who had just gotten engaged- and I had read their thread before going on the trip where the guy was asking for proposal ideas- that was neat. He had already proposed and she said yes and they looked like they were on cloud 9. Very sweet.
