Were finally booked for our first Christmas time trip to the Fort on Dec 2-9. After forgetting to call way too many times I finally booked yesterday. A little bummed out because we wanted to stay in the 1400 loop again. But all premium sites are gone. We were able to get Prefered so I guess well be okay. Were looking forward to seeing all the Christmas decorations.

Have fun !
Keep calling, someone will cancel and you can get their premium spot.

OK, help me out here. Last time we were at the Fort (not DW) was 2004. The only sites that were premium were 100, 200 & 300. 1400 was a preferred. Has that changed?

Most of the best Deocrations I thought were in the 100-300 and 700 areas, so you should be right were the action is. It seems you have to book a year out for Christmas and Halloween now...

I really got this wrong then. We are booked in a preferred. What are the premium sites? Should I upgrade to premium? I was hopeing for 400 or 700.

Premium have more paved area. If you want 400 or 700 I would upgrade.

Last year we stayed in 1400 loop (Premium) near the Campfire area. We wanted to get back there. But not entirely disappointed with 100-300. Just don't need the sand pad.

Dude,

According to the online reservation tool on the main WDW web site, if you plug in 12/2-12/16 a Premium site is available. Book it, call back a few days later to drop the unwanted days, then call back to cancel the unwanted ressie.

The Fort's ressie system favors longer stays over shorter stays so "play the game" to get the ressie/dates you want.

I want you to get the site type/dates you want so do this to make it happen. :worship:

After spending all day researching and watching you tube's of the camp loops we decided to stay. Just hope we don't get 300. My 1 yo grandson is scared of dogs.

300 is a VERY popular pet loop . If its going to upset him request something different . It cost way to much to start your Disney magic with a terrified child . Keep in mind you MAY encounter pets in any loop , even non pet loops if the Fort is busy. Also if it helps any , most all Disney camping pets youll encounter are well behaved . Just my 2 cents .

Thank you, I will request 100 or 200. It wouldn't be the pets fault. Jack cries when my cats or a dog just walk's past. Maybe he'll get over it before we go.

Do keep checking back for cancellations...we just booked a premium site for 11/30-12/8 tonight. Hope to see you there!

Thanks for all the tips. I had heard it was better to book longer stays and then adjust later. I may try that when I have some free time. Either way we look forward to our first Chrstmas at Disney and the Fort. Hope we see many other Dis members there. I gotta get busy soon on my Mickey Lamp post and Dis Sign.

Interestingly, I just called the other day and rescheduled our May trip to Dec.
We were given a premium site right off the top, and it is cheaper without any discounts than our May trip. This was just last week so the status of sites via cancelations or whatever must constantly change. As it stands going to be at FW Dec 1-8.

I called on Friday to book 2 sites in a pet loop for 12/2/12 thru 12/9/12 and they didn`t have anything but tent/pop-up sites left. I ended up with two premium sites for 12/9 thru 12/16. We were in the 300 loop last time and really liked it. So the premiums are 400 thru 1400.
