We are pricing transportation from MCO to a downtown Disney resort. Any suggestions? We saw Payless Transportation, has anyone used it? :drive:

Thanks!

Your options to get from airport to DTD are basically the following:
1) Cab--fastest, but probably the most expensive ~$65+ one way not including tip. This was an estimate from a taxi fare calculator. I have never taken a cab to Disney before.

2) Airport limo--there are lots of services, and often discounts if you look at sites like Mouseavers or All Ears. These have the advantage of being arranged in advance, solely yours, often include a stop for groceries if you need. Depending on how many people you are transporting, this can be priced comparably to shuttle service. Prices are ~$85+ OW

3)Shared shuttle service (Mears) ~$21 OW/$34 RT. You will likely stop at other locations before you get to your hotel.

4) Rental car. Depending on when you are going, you can get cheap car rental rates that would allow you to have a car for your whole trip. I have gotten cars for as little as $15/day (tax included) through the major brands (e.g. Alamo) At the very least, you could get one for one day and have it to run errands, make grocery stops and then return at WDW. Alamo has places on Disney property and others, eg. Dollar and Avis, have places near Downtown Disney. Down side is, you have to take the time to rent and return. (Although with check-in kiosks, I find it a breeze to rent at Alamo/National when I go)

5) Public transportation. The Lynx Bus. Haven't used it, but my BIL has. It's cheap ~$2-3.

Probably more than you wanted to know. Also, haven't heard of Payless-but that's cause I always rent a car.

Which DTD Disney hotel? I think 3 or 4 them have rental cars in them. For instance, the Hilton has Hertz and the Wyndham Lake Buena Vista has Dollar.
Another one has Alamo.

That leaves a third option of doing a one way - one day rental with pick up at the airport and drop in the DTD location. And then doing the reverse on the way out. it may or may not be cheaper than the care service.
