I have a friend who is a DIS-lurker(hi Kellie!!!! ). She has a reservation at BWV for December 4-13 in a 2BR. The first 4 nights are being paid for by her points, and the last 5 nights are being paid for by her sister's points. They are sharing the 2BR...4 adults, 4 kids.

On her confirmation is says "Boardwalk view requested"...she made her reservation at the 11 month window. Since the time she made her reservation, I guess the "Boardwalk view" has become a separate view category, rather than just a request. Her sister received a second conformation which stated that the "Boardwalk view" is guaranteed, but my friend kellie did not receive this same confirmation. The reservations were made at th same time at the 11 month window. When Kellie called to check on the status, she was told that the first 4 nights were not guaranteed to be a Boardwalk view, but the last 5 nights were.

My question: Who is the person she can talk to who could rectify this? Apparently the CM she talked to wasn't helpful, and then she spoke with a supervisor who would only guarantee her that if she didn't get a Boardwalk view for the first 4 nights, that Disney would take care of making their move for the last 5 nights to the Boardwalk view room very easy. Well, big deal!!! They do that anyway if you have to move!!! She's not looking for anything free...she's just looking to have her Boardwalk view for the entire stay, and not have to move.

Thanks!!!!

Did they request to have the reservations linked? If not, they will probably have to move in the middle of their trip. That is why they might be different. If they were linked, they would both have the same view, and would be guaranteed the same room for the whole time.

I would call MS with both owners on the line at the same time to see if you can straighten it out.

I agree with Diane unless the 2 ressies were linked there is nothing that the MS can do at this point...

I actually think they might be able to help if you are willing to give up the Boardwalk view. That would be what would be hard to change.

If there are no boardwalk view rooms available there is not much MS can do about it. As you know, the first week of December has become a very popular time for DVC resorts. Even though your friend booked at the 11 month mark and got the view it is possible that the Boardwalk views were already taken for your dates, especially since the guarantee was done after the fact. When MS allocated the rooms there might not have been 4 nights free with a Boardwalk view. December 4 is a Thursday so it's possible that many DVC members would have checked in for a Sun-Fri. stay in a Boardwalk view room. Her sister's reservation starts on a Sunday, the beginning of a new "DVC week" when there could be more Boardwalk views open. They may have lucked out by keeping keeping the reservations seperate. If they had been one reservation starting on the 4th they may not have gotten the Boardwalk view at all.

Current options are to call back and ask to be put on the wait list for Boardwalk view for the early part of the reservation or to ask if the reservations can be linked now and moved to a non-Boardwalk view. They can also ask about the Boardwalk view again at check-in.
