Just curious to see if there is anyone else out there, besides my DH and I, that bring a seperate suitcase for just souveniors.

When we buy souveniors we always have them shipped back to the Poly so we don't have to carry them. With doing this you get such a false perspective on how much you are buying until you have bought so much you have no where to pack it.

This is why we bring the extra suitcase. Please tell me we are not the only ones:wave:

I always pack an extra duffle bag in the main suitcase. And have always had that duffle bag stuffed on the way home. :)

We're leaving in 20-days and we'll be packing my DS4 things in a smaller suitcase and putting it into a empty large one. I don't know how many souveniors we'll have but I'm assuming alot!!

WERE ALMOST THERE:hyper: :hyper: :hyper:

When we drive and stay in a condo we bring office file boxes filled with food and use them on the way back. We always bring a couple extra as well. They hold alot and stack pretty good in the car.

When I fly I bring an empty suitcase and a duffle bag and somehow (even though I say I am not buying much this trip) they end up full.

We use the empty duffle techique too. We use it during our stay as a laundry bag and bring the dirty laundry home in it. That frees up space in our regular suitcase for what we buy on the trip!

I brought one to fill and then bought a really cute Pooh suitcase too while I was there :)

You mean Im not the only one? I know the extra huge duffle bag I brought last time was great. When i was looking at the Mickey Mouse Shoe slippers at Epcot, I didn't have to wonder where to put them on the way home!!!

SOOO glad to know there are others outthere too!

1) On EVERY vacation, we take a spare case.
2) It is a collapsible nylon duffel.
3) It zips into itself and is about 6"x6"x1" when folded.
4) When unfolded, it is about 18"x18"x24".
5) It has come in handy so many times!

NOTE: I have seen the same type at Staples for about $12.00.

We actually pack a suitcase with food and snacks. When we are ready to leave, that suitcase is empty and ready to be filled with my take home goodies.

:rotfl:
We do the duffle bag thing too!:rotfl:
Plus....we will take an extra suitcase that we pack snacks, etc in. We will eat the snacks and have the room to pack more stuff for the way home!:rotfl:

After a few years of squishing stuff into our suitcases on the way home we finally got smart. Not only do we bring the extra duffel tucked into our suitcase, but we also try and ship most of the stuff we buy at downtown disney right home. Even though we do that - we are surprised each year on how much we just happen to "pick up" here and there.

My family laughs at me - but now I am going to show them this thread!::yes::

We bring an extra duffle bag....plus we have young kids, in the past at least two of them were in diapers and one in pull-ups for the night time. Diapers for a 10 day vacation take up tons of packign space -- and they are gone by the time we are coming home, so I've gotten extra space that way, too. But, now two are no longer in diapers and the third might be out of the come December so I'm losing that "secret compartment" of extra space. (It's secret b/c I never point out to my DH how I fit everything I buy back into the suitcase so it looks like I buy less  )

I do the extra duffle bag too but sometimes even that isn't enough... especially when I make a trip to the outlet mall:laughing: I usually put all of my souveniers other goodies that I don't want getting lost into the duffle bag and all of my dirty laundry and other things go into my checked luggage :)

Like shelleybell we pack a duffle type bag with snack foods and quick breakfast foods. As we eat the things it leaves room for take home surprises!

Works great for us. Plus if little ones are going I get many little toys and stuffed characters for them on sale before we leave and put them on their pillows on on chairs in our room when we leave each day and then they have surprises when we return each night.

It was fun getting an animated battery powered Winnie the Pooh on the plane last time. I had him hidden in my carry on and had to distract my DD while security checked out what the battereis were in my case. It worked and she never saw it until she found him on her pillow after the first night!
::yes::

We always pack a couple calapsable carry-ons in our suitcases, so on the way home, we can carry them onto the plane with us and don't have to worry about anything getting broke.
:)

I usually pack a travel bag or two inside my suitcase. I know that I buy A LOT during my trip, so I need extra room. Last time the extra bags were not enough. I ended up shipping some of my disney things home!!!! So no, it's not weird to bring another bag. In fact, I suggest it. :earsgirl:

I bought duffle type luggage for my sons that have a two zippers at the bottom that allow the bags to enlarge. We have them zipped to the smallest size when we travel to DW and zipped all the way open when we come home. The double in capacity when unzipped all the way. We have also had to bring diapers and baby essentials on our trips so those are gone giving us more souvenier space.

We do it too. Last year we brought along an extra large duffle bag, thinking it would be enough. Nope! Had to buy a suitcase too! ;)
