I'm just wondering who amoung rents any points at all? Are you a regular renter, or just when you have points left over? I have never rented any points- I run out of them too fast! I am thinking about buiying more points though- so I'll have enough, but if I have extra, I'm thinking I could rent those. Is it difficult to do so?

We have been members for 6 years and never rented until 2 months ago. We rented out 300 pts to pay cash for our cruise. We saved over 140 pts by paying cash.::yes::

It was very easy and 1 person wanted all 300 pts for a BW GV. It only lasted on the Rent/Trade boards for about 1 hour.

We rent points occasionally. I own other timeshares as well and don't have time to use all points, weeks, etc. I'd rather fool with renting both DVC and non DVC options so that I own what i want to use most years. It's worked out well so far but I selected the timeshare carefully with this plan in mind.

this year I have - this is the first year and I am not using the Dis boards - but redweek for several reasons.

before this year I let friends, family and co-workers use my points for free.

but this year my brother reallys needs the money - so I am renting.

will I do this on a regular basis - I don't thing so. but who knows I might change my mind before the year is out.

I have rented on two separate occasions. Once a few years ago and once this year to pay for a cruise next year. I really like the cruise price that I paid for in cash and may do the same again next year. It is a nice way to still use our points for a Disney vacation.

Until this year we had always used our points ourselves. But I rented this year's points and part of next year's to pay for our upcoming Fiji vacation (two weeks to go!). It was pretty easy.

The only tedious part was that a lot of people wanted just a few points. I transferred 10 points to one member and 120 to another. And I rented 32 points to one person, 55 to another and 68 to a third.

It started to get a little complicated, but fortunately a nice DISer came along and rented 310 points in one transaction, and I was done. She's at VWL right now, and we got a postcard from her last night.
