I've read many posts of clever responses of characters (especially the Princesses) when they are asked questions by guests - especially children.

Do they come up with the answers on the spot? Are they hired to be quick thinking? Or do they get briefed on what questions they are likely to come up against and coached how to respond? Do they have a live feed in an earpiece (lol)? Or do you think they sit around discussing this subject with each other so they have feedback on how to answer?

i believe they answer based on personal knowledge and experience. to paraphrase twain, the less they lie, the less they have to remember.

They have to study the character -- a lot of it is remembering stock answers, and details from the movies/books so they can be consistent. They also are taught how to improvise "in character" without being too specific (so people don't get wildly different responses from all the different Belles, etc.).

I would have to agree; they don't get to those positions without being really good at thinking on their feet.

I also don't think that there are that many questions out there. They're all going to be very repetitious. Very few unique questions. As long as each Princess is knowledgeable about her 'character' and history, she should be fine. I'm sure they all excel at improv!!!

I could study away and know all the details but still be stumped by some questions. I guess they really must be persons who can think on their feet really well.

I do not think it would be that hard to come up with a *fluff* answer for the questions you dont know/want to answer. Also, I cant imagine one would take that job without some sort of acting skill and love of the movies - It would only take watching the movie once or twice etc to learn the details of the character.

They prolly take some simple acting courses when they are being trained - if they havent already.

They have scripted answers for common questions. We asked Cinderella one time where the cat was...she went into a really cute speech about where he was but my favorite line was "he is a pet not a friend" and she said this with such acting.

I think the Characters who do improvisation the best are The Ladies Tremaine.:)

They are awesome.:)

those ladies are genuinely funny.

i know they must study the characters in and out. i mean, they'd have to. even though we think we're clever, they probably get asked the same "clever" questions a lot. that would allow them to answer without even giving it a second thought.

Now that makes me wonder if any of them have acting ambitions beyond disney. Although I've never heard of an actor starting out as a disney character in the parks.

Actors go beyond TV/Film.... IMO a "true" actor is one that is on stage(in this case the "stage" is with the families and children), and I cannot see that being a Disney Princess wouldnt be great to add to a resume of a potential theatre actress... I studied theatre my whole life and had I been given the opportunity I would play a Disney Princess in a heartbeat!!!!
