Who now is changing all their fast passes to early morning?

Not us. I won't waste my time standing in those kiosk lines later in the day to try and get an additional FP+. I'm keeping the plan that worked well for us...first park in the morning with lower crowds, then park hop elsewhere later in the day to use our FP+ for the headliners/rides with traditionally longer waits.

IF we had the capability of booking the 4th FP+ on our devices, I might consider it. But wasting time in line like a trapped rat behinds guests who don't know what they're doing, hoping to get a decent selection? I'd rather wait in the actual ride line than take that chance.

For me, the change that needs to be made is the ability to schedule the 4th FP for a different park, WHILE you are still in the other park. It doesn't do me any good to use my FPs early if I can't schedule the new ones for the PM park until I get there. Yes, there might be availability at noon when we leave to go back to the hotel, but probably nothing left when we get back at 4.

What I really wish they would do it allow prebooking to be split between parks. Tier 7 Dwarfs, A&E, Belle, Peter Pan, Space, BTMR. Current tiers from Epcot and HS remain in place. Allow 1 tier 1 attraction to be booked per park except MK where you get 2 tier 1s. 3 total obviously. After the first 3 tiers go away.

This would encourage park hopping, and it would also help Epcot out with their limited selection, because now lots of people would combine Epcot at HS.

We leave soon and I was just wondering how many people are changing their fastpasses to all early morning/afternoon in hopes of obtaining more fast passes?

The announcement came out right after I booked all ours. So I booked all in morning except 2 days which have evening. I am debating giving those up in favor of trying to get more. 30 minute waits for the non headliners is really discouraging. Would it be worth giving up the mountains at MK for the chance to obtain more?

I originally had mine mid-afternoon mostly. But I moved them a little earlier. Not too early, because what's the point there when we'll be able to hop on some things before lines build up. But early enough that we should be able to collect more for later that day.

I have FP's for all of our must do rides that need them (7DMT every MK day! Wooo!), so I'm not worried about missing out if some are unavailable any more than I would have been worried under the old system when they were gone by noon.

I grabbed a fastpass for the Mine Train at 9:35-10:35 which I was wanting a little later but that is all I could get at the time. I thought well that might be as good time actually because if the ride broke down it would be later in the day :confused3 They do say new rides tend to be shut down more and the day we are going is the day it opens.

Also just got back from WDW and the summer rush has started ! Lines were almost as long at the kiosk as the rides. I found that when I used my 3 fp's at HS and then went over to Epcot at 1:30...fp's were only available for evening hours after 6 for any headline rides. Talked with CM's at GF who said the additional FP granted would only be an evening pass. Also found that you must have used up all 3 fp's before you can get the extra pass.

If you can take advantage of extra magic hours then I would choose fp's at another park as I did Soarin twice, test track and spaceship earth before regular hours.

I apologize if I am piecing this together. I am rusty as it has been 4 years.

I was under the impression that things like POC, Astro blasters, Jungle cruise were now having expected wait times of 30-60 minutes, even a couple hours after rope drop. So those saying they were just going to do filler walk ons in the afternoon, what are those rides now? We will do rope drop and the fastpasses we have start between 10-11.

FWIW we were never uber users, perhaps 3-4 fastpasses a day. We like to soak it up and enjoy the little rides. I was just under the impression that those little rides with no wait like IASW was not so little anymore.

We are staying offsite and our window to book opens up in the next couple of days. I'm the main planner for my family, my husband prefers to relax and go with the flow so FP+ was a huge bummer for him. My plan is to book our FPs for the morning and early afternoon just before we stop for lunch, book our fourth FP before we eat, and pick and choose what we want to do for the rest of the day.

Although, our selections are going to be different from most families considering our son is too short to ride the headliners and my husband doesn't do more of a drop than the tiny one in POTC. My sister and I will be riding the headliners with FP while he does different meet and greet attractions with the toddler.

I'm thinking the only attraction that might warrant a FP prior to 10am might be A&E. My thinking is that even with a FP for later in the afternoon say, the FP cue will probably still be quite long. I just checked the posted wait time for A&E at 12 noon today and it said 160min. With SB waits this long and longer, I can't imagine the FP cue being any less than 30 mins. If you get FPs for earlier in the day, say 9-10am, the FP cues will probably be 5-15mins. Just my prediction. Maybe those who have had FPs to A&E for later in the day can chime in on their FP wait times.

You'd be surprised. I used a FP for Anna and Elsa two weeks ago, well into the afternoon, and I didn't wait any longer than 10 minutes.

I only moved mine up at HS and EP for hopes of getting another Tier 1.. MK I left 10:30-1:30, we plan on taking mid day breaks and will book something on way out for evening return...

Right now you can only book 3 fp's and once you use those THEN can book the fourth at a different park. I could not book the fourth one on my phone app so,had to go to the FP kiosk at the park.

Personally, if you plan on getting to the parks at rope drop, you can get so much done early that booking your Fastpasses any earlier than about 11AM is probably a waste.

For me (and your mileage may vary), I'd plan to book FP for 11AM and after, run standby before that, use the FP, then get a new FP, eat lunch, and then tour as much as possible on the additional FP as possible, using short standby lines when they exist. If I really wanted a FP for an evening show, I might see if there is availability starting at about 2PM or so, depending on crowd volume. If I can grab a pass to a nighttime show, that's probably a good time to take a break back at the hotel to rest and cool off in the pool or something, since standby times will be up in the peak of the day.

Good luck! Hope you have a great trip!

Mine were fairly early in the first place. Hoping to be able to get 1 or 2 additional each day.

I was wondering about this very thing. I am sure Disney realizes that in order to take advantage of park hopping people will have to book early FP's (so they can take advantage of getting additional ones at a different park later in the day). Won't that cause the early FP's to run out?? I hope they adjust accordingly by my late Oct. trip.

Sounds like a plan.:thumbsup2

Possibly, but I think that's a weak strategy. If you're going early anyway, you're likely wasting the fastpasses on short or non-existent waits. In my opinion, if you're planning to park hop already, just book your FP for the second park. That would be optimal use. If you get to a park and then decide to hop, there's not much you can do except cancel any passes you might have (or use them), and see what's available at the second park. As always, just a bit of planning can help you squeeze a lot out of the trip. ;)

YEP! I don't want to chance it. We will do RD each day at 1 park, leave before it gets crowded, and book FPs for after 'nap time' when the parks are more crowded.

Not me. My husband and teenagers have already told me they are sleeping in.

So I made FP+ for the afternoons and I'll just do standby when I go by myself for rope drop. LOL

I do need to change 2 people from one ride to a different one and I can't figure out how to do that and still leave 2 people on the original FP+.
I'll have to sit down this afternoon and really look at it closely. Vacationing shouldn't be this difficult. Sigh.

I deliberately booked ours for around the same time frame you had. On that particular day we are leaving the park at lunch time to go elsewhere and it made sense that if one of them was early, 7DMT would be the biggest saver of the 3 in an early slot. Hoping I was right.

When you go into your FP to modify it, you have to select which guests you are applying the change to. :thumbsup2

We are at the parks early, but after RD. I've actually gone ahead and moved many of my FP+s to earlier times. I don't think I have anything past 2:00, other than arrival day.

We are travelling with a group of 8, including a toddler, so we don't really run around early trying to do headliners. We have the advantage of being able to do Rider Switch for most of the big rides, so we will ride early(ish) with our FP+s and then in the afternoon with RS, coupled with our new 4th and more FPs. We'll have the mountains, PP, and A&E prebooked, and we'll try to add PotC, JC, HM, WtP, Barnstormer, Buzz, etc as the day goes by.

I was a little concerned about kiosk waits, but with offsiters able to prebook, I think this is less of an issue. So far, the reports of kiosk waits, return times, and attraction availability have been fairly positive, especially for the MK.

I'll be there in 24 days, and I will post detailed info on my experiences when I return.

This would be my plan if I were going. I tend to avoid EMH but I think this is actually a huge benefit now. I'd do EMH mornings and try to get the headliners out of the way. I don't park hop so I'd use my advance fastpasses to either ride headliners again or to just use them for other rides. Besides EMH, I could book a breakfast before park opening inside the park to try to get an advantage of being in the park before they open to the public if EMH isn't being offered that day. The only thing that worries me is that the more people that change their fp to morning, the longer rides are going to get earlier in the day and rope drop won't be much of an advantage anymore. I think the best thing to do would be to get those advance fp reservations for late morning (probably staring around 10:30) until some time goes by and we get an idea of what to expect.
