Who knew choking each other would earn us fastpasses?

Thanks, I have tried that already (three times) :scratchin. I finally got my DD to admit that the light came on after going over some railroad tracks. I asked if she did a "Dukes of Hazard" :drive: jump but she claims she went slow and hit a big bump? It's an old car, still running and I have a buddy who can run a diagnostic's check and hopefully find the problem.

We have some dukes of hazzard tracks near us too. If you aren't paying attention, you could really fly over those babies!

Love the car story. My mom had a plastic bag melt under her car and I swear it took months for that smell to go away.

Congrats to John on his new/old job :rotfl2:. I can understand him missing Disney next year; I don't think he wants to be disowned by Lacey :rolleyes1. I hate the new cancellation rule for Disney 2011 packages. I have to say I really like the room only deal. I was able to pay on it just like a package and I paid the balance when we checked in. I don't know that we will do the DDP again any time soon because they have changed the menus, and the food quality seems to be slipping. We had a not so good experience this past weekend :eek:.

Great TR update too. I love the picture of you, your mom and Hunter; such a special memory :goodvibes :love:.

Whats the new cancellation policy. I haven't read about it yet?

All caught up! Yay. I can't WAIT to go... seeing all your pictures just make me so happy! I LOVE Philharmagic. My husband is a Wind Band Conductor, so, when Minnie says "I love the show ALMOST as much as I love the Conductor" I get a little teary eyed! Heehee. :love:

Hey everybody! Sorry I've been MIA the last few days. I hope that everyone had a good long holiday weekend. We had thought about going camping but, then, one of our neighbors' sons called and asked if John could come to his house Saturday morning and look at a job he wanted done. Of course, even with John working fulltime, we never pass up the opportunity to earn some extra moolah.

While John was out at the guy's house, Hunter, Lacey and I did a little shopping. The first place we went was the fabric store to see if they had any Disney fabric on sale. They did and it was 30% off. I don't know if any of you have checked out the prices of Disney fabric but some of it was $10 a yard!:eek: And, that's just plain ole' cotton fabric too.

We also went to the mall and I found some really cute Ralph Lauren polo shirts on clearance for just $5.19 each. I had to grab a couple of those. Old Navy had a sale too and both Lacey and I got a couple of long sleeve tees for just $4.99 each. I found John a cute button up linen shirt that I knew he'd like. Poor old Hunter got no clothes at all. Don't feel sorry for him though because he got to eat pizza for lunch and that's really the only reason he tagged along on the shopping trip anyway.

Oh, and Icings in the mall had a 5 for $10 sale. Anything that had a red line through it and was originally $15 or under was just $2 each so long as you bought 5 items. Lacey got a bracelet set that has a cuff bracelet in it and it looks just like a Mickey head. I'll have to take a picture and post it for you to see. I think we bought a necklace or two and some earrings so that we could have five items.

Sunday, we hit the road for Canton, Texas to the flea market. For those of you who may be interested, here's a link to the First Monday Flea Market website: http://www.firstmondaycanton.com/ The flea market is huge. It's the largest outdoor flea market in the world and has about 28 miles of walkways. It's giaganticus humongus!

We arrived at the flea market at about 10:45 a.m. after leaving our house at 7:30 a.m. A three hour road trip isn't that long for us considering it takes up about 15 hours to get to Disney. We walked around for several hours but didn't see too much that we really wanted. This wasn't a "I've got this, this, this and this on my list of must finds" trip. It was more of a trip to spend time together.

After walking around for about 4 hours, we had purchased a whole whopping lot! Not! We bought 4 record albums at 75 cents each, four Rada knives and a sharpener for $28 and 8 limes for $1. What can I say? We're big spenders. Oh, and three hamburgers, a corndog and three drinks for $29.

On our way home, we decided to stop at Marshall Pottery in Marshall, Texas. It's not that far off the interstate and we usually get some good deals on their clay pots. We rounded a grove of trees and the parking lot was empty. What? It was then that we realized it was Sunday and they were closed on Sunday. Darn it!

I was making a loop through their parking lot when we saw this huge pile of busted up clay pots, saucers, etc. right out near the road. (Like they were waiting on the garbage truck or city to come and pick it up.) The pile was about as big as my car. As we got closer, we could see that almost all of the saucers were still intact. John got out and couldn't believe how many of them there were. So, he picked up a few and then Lacey got out and saw that there were some pots that were just barely nicked too. I told John that we didn't need that many saucers and to just get a few big ones. Well, then the thought hit me that I could sell them in our next garage sale. They were throwing them away so why not take them? Anyway, we ended up with....get this.....102 items! I know! I know! Ya'll are probably just shaking your heads :sad2: thinking what in the world were they thinking? For those of you thinking we may have been stealing, don't worry. A Sheriff's Deputy came by and didn't even stop. We figured a bunch of folks probably do this.

After loading up the stuff, we hit the interstate again and hunger pains hit us. The $29 food was wearing off (it wasn't that good) so we stopped at a Cracker Barrell for dinner. The food was good except for the biscuits that I was so looking forward to. They weren't fluffy at all. Just a top and a bottom and nothing really in between.

We made it home later that evening and were happy that we had gotten to spend some time together as a family.

Monday, Labor Day, brought a whole lot of laziness. And.......................a kitten! One of Lacey's friends had asked if we wanted a kitten and John said no. I've been asking for one for years but John never wanted one. I enlisted Lacey's help in begging and he said "whatever" which Lacey and I translated into "Go ahead. I'd love to have a kitten in our house." :rotfl:

We had never even laid eyes on the kitten and we were already thinking of names. All of our pets names have been Disney character names and this one would too. We knew that it was a girl but we didn't know anything else about it. Some of the names we threw out were Aurora, Tiana, Tigerlily, Minnie and Tink. Lacey and I liked Tiana. Hunter liked Tigerlily. We finally decided on Tiana.

Monday afternoon, Lacey went to get our little Disney princess, Tiana. She is the most adorable little 6 week old kitten I have ever seen. She's teeny tiny and she's entirely black. Absolutely beautiful! She sleeps in Lacey's room and is already litter box trained. Yay!

I spent the rest of Monday sewing. Which leads me to this. Disney Designs (under the Ebay seller name mickeystoontown) will be up and running sometime later this week. So far, I have:

1) A red sling purse with little black Mickey heads on it;

2) A Toy Story backsack;

3) A Disney princess backsack (pink with the princesses and castle) ;

4) A Mickey backsack (Mickey with reds and blues);

5) A paisley backsack (turquoise, blues and black);

6) A Toy Story small camera bag;

7) A Winnie the Pooh purse;

8) A pink princess purse (non Disney);

9) A Christian fish symbol purse;

10) A couple of other non-Disney purses;

11) A Minnie backsack (purple);

12) Several dog bandanas decorated with Mickey heads;

13) And, quite a few Walt Disney World items.

All items will be either handmade or come directly from Walt Disney World. I am working on several other Disney related items and will have those ready to put up for bids very soon as well. I'll let ya'll know when I have the first round of items listed.

Well, I guess, since the boss is back from lunch and thinks I am hard at work, I need to really get back to work.

I hope I can get back here and post replies and maybe even an installment soon.

Oh and if you guys and gals didn't already think we were crazy........I mean, we do drive 3 hours to go to a flea market, dig through garbage and name our animals after Disney characters.......let me make you think we are totally off our rockers.

John's decided he's going to Disney with us. Even if it means he quits his job. What? Quit a job in this day and time? Remember, John's been self employed for years and years now so we know we have our own cabinet shop to fall back on. So, no more worrying about that subject.;)

Love the name for the kitten! You will have to post pics of us to see! And thanks to my bow making I am addicted to ebay so I will have to go check out all your stuff on there for our Disney trip in June! I have a feeling the Princess backpack will be calling my name lol

I want some pots too! LOL!
Yah ! John's going! He shopuld just tell his boss now, that before he took the job, you had a vacation already planned. It sounds like this guy likes him enough that he may be Ok with it.

Shhhhhhhhhhh....I'm sneakin' in a picture or two (or three or four or five) while the boss is on the phone.

This is our newest addition to our household. Miss Tiana:

Miss Tiana playing in front of Hunter (thought I better put that disclaimer in there otherwise you'd think those hairy legs were mine! LOL!)

We have several hummingbirds that come to our feeder. I was able to capture a few pictures of them:

As we were sitting on the back porch doing some of that laziness that I was talking about earlier, we looked out in the backyard and see little heads peeking out from the bottom of our storage building. I hope you can see what I am trying to take a pic of:

SANY4638.jpg

And, then these came sneaking out from behind the shop:

SANY4637.jpg

Soon, two of the five, yes I said five, raccoons got brave and walked through the garden:

SANY4643.jpg

One stopped in front of Lacey's Jeep:

SANY4644.jpg

And the other one continued between the Jeep and the truck:

SANY4645.jpg

In order to keep the raccoons from eating everything in our garden, I feed them leftovers and cheap dog food. This one had a piece of pizza crust and was hiding out under Lacey's Jeep:

In this picture, you can see our "garbage pile finds" a/k/a clay pots and saucers:

SANY4646.jpg

See the set of round saucers at the very end? I sat down on those and took these pictures:

Okay so I need to get back to typing on my "real" work.

That kitten is just too cute!

Crazy that those Raccoons would come so close with you out there like that

I love Hummingbirds, We had a feeder but never got any hummingbirds come over to it. We have a regular bird feeder and get birds come to that left and right.

As I was scrolling through the pics of Tiana and the little bandits, one of my kitties jumped in my lap and meowed at me as if saying ... NOOOOOOO MORE KITTIES!!! I have three. :rotfl:

Tiana is adorable!

Hi! I'm a newbie to the Disboards, just wanted to say how much I'm enjoying your trip report. It's gonna be a while before my family gets back down to the world since we have a 3 month old at home, so I'm really enjoying your great reporting style and all the great pictures! It's helping me gather ideas for our next trip- hopefully when the little guy turns one.

Looking forward to seeing your Disney items. I'd really be interested in some baby gear for our next trip.

_________
Maria Rose

First off, welcome to the Disboards! You're gonna find that they are super addicting.

Hunter's first trip to Disney was when he turned one. He, literally, turned 1 in the Magic Kingdom. There's nothing more magical than seeing Disney through his eyes.

I don't have any baby geat made up yet but there will be some coming soon!

Hi Lisa! Just dropping by to see how you are? Haven't seen you on in a few days! Hope all is ok & you have just been a busy-body!!! Talk to you soon!!!

~Danielle~

Hey girl, thanks for dropping by. It's been really busy around the McBride house lately.

I have a feeling that Mama will test how strict Disney is with their new cancellation policy soon. She found out that her dental work is going to cost at least $4,800.00. That doesn't include having two teeth cut out (estimated to be about $500.00) and the two $180.00 consultation fees she has paid so far.:eek: Sounds like she won't be headed to Disney with us next trip.:mad:

I made it!!! I wanna let you know that I have now read ALL THREE of your trip reports!!! I started out with the "I Lost My Tooth" report, then hit the "I Lost My Shoe" report, and now I caught up on this one!! I refuse to say how many days this took me. I skimmed over some of the chatter in between, but did read a lot of it.

Welcome! Good Lordy Ms. Gordy! If you read all that, you were one busy woman. You can already tell that we are a bunch of goofballs.

Heehee. :love:

Awww that's so sweet! Hunter is in strings in school and loves anything that has to do with orchestra music.

Hi Lisa..just stoppy by to get all caught up!

Well hello there stranger! Glad to see you back and posting again. When are you going to start that trip report. I NEED to see pictures of your little princess.

Love the name for the kitten! You will have to post pics of us to see! And thanks to my bow making I am addicted to ebay so I will have to go check out all your stuff on there for our Disney trip in June! I have a feeling the Princess backpack will be calling my name lol

I will certainly let you know when I get the items listed. John told me that I can't keep anything I make. Ooopsy!

I want some pots too! LOL!
Yah ! John's going! He shopuld just tell his boss now, that before he took the job, you had a vacation already planned. It sounds like this guy likes him enough that he may be Ok with it.

The pots were certainly a "find" in our book. I couldn't believe that they had so many of them out there. Some were broken but there were a lot that weren't.

The supervisor in the shop is the kind that you don't tell him anything too far ahead of time. The main boss leaves everything up to the supervisor so it wouldn't do any good to tell him about it either. John figures he'll just wait until a month or so before and tell them that I already had it planned, booked and paid for. If they let him go, then that's great. If not, we'll just play it by ear.

Oh my word Tiana is too precious!!!!!!!

I love raccoons! They always seem so friendly!

Isn't she the sweetest thing ever! We knew that there were three raccoons but not five!

As I was scrolling through the pics of Tiana and the little bandits, one of my kitties jumped in my lap and meowed at me as if saying ... NOOOOOOO MORE KITTIES!!! I have three. :rotfl:

Tiana is adorable!

Isn't it funny how cats have a sixth sense. They were probably jealous that you were checking out other kitty cats.

That kitten is just too cute!

Crazy that those Raccoons would come so close with you out there like that

I love Hummingbirds, We had a feeder but never got any hummingbirds come over to it. We have a regular bird feeder and get birds come to that left and right.

Tiana fits in perfectly with our family....she loves to run and play and let her hair loose.

The raccoons come out at all times of the day (definitely not nocturnal around our house) and aren't afraid of us too much. We can usually walk within six or eight feet of them and they won't run off.

This year is the first year that we've had several hummingbirds. Usually, they go to Mama's feeder and not our's.

Tiana is precious (and I'm not even a cat lover). I love the pics of the racoons. We have a friend who feeds them as well so they stay out of her garden. I can't believe John said he'd quit his job because he was going to Disney with you guys. Well, I guess he could always "be on the phone drumming up business for your shop." :lmao::lmao:

EEK! Scary about the raccons coming out in the day! Be careful. Around here, when they come out in the day, they are usually sick. We actually had one haging around our house and MIL house this summer one day. Luckily Claire was at afriends house that day. This sucker went right up next to the dog pen, and the dog was barking in it's ear, and the thing acted like it didn't even hear it. Skip ended up killing it. We were so afraid that it would get Claire or the Nephew. He had to be really sick, the way he would look right at us and had no fear, and he even kind of staggered around.

Tiana is such a cute kitty. We had a black cat that looked just like that when he was little. Dh laughed when I picked him out because he was the one hanging like a monkey off the cage, he was such a playful cat!

Looks like you have 6 new animals, not just 1. I think they must like what they find at your house:laughing:.

Hi Lisa!

Tiana is adorable! So glad you took John's "no" as a "yes"! :lmao:

Yay for being rewarded for being a rule follower! I hate line cutters. Annoying and rude! :mad:

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE PhilharMagic! My favorite 3D at Disney. :lovestruc

Sorry you didn't get to go camping, but sounds like you made the most of the long weekend anyway. Awesome trash-picking finds! LOL! :thumbsup2

I'm so glad John has decided to go to Disney with you! :banana:

Oh my goodness! Tiana is adorable!!! I want a new kitty! (Okay, no I don't, really. This is the first time in my life that I haven't had a cat and I don't miss the litter box at all)

:lmao:

And look at those stinkin' raccoons! I can't believe they came up that close to you! I do find raccoons kind of cute, though. Unless they are on my deck in the middle of the night when DH is out of town and I think someone is trying to break into the house. :scared1: :laughing:

Great to hear that John is going to Disney with you next year! I'm sure you were very happy to hear that.
