Who knew choking each other would earn us fastpasses?

I love the sneaky picture you got of the man! There is a gentleman who is clearly comfortable with his masculinity! :thumbsup2

Congrats to you for following the rules and getting a fastpass. :woohoo: I would love to know what was going through those kids minds when they overheard what the CM told you.

Great pics as usual Lisa! I especially like the one with you and your Mama! I also like that even when you aren't at WDW you always have a touch of Disney on you (hat, t-shirt). ;) It's great!!

What did you end up doing with all your GA peaches? Did you can them or make a cobbler or both? Yum, nothing is better than warm peach cobbler with a scoop of vanilla ice-cream on top!! :cloud9:

I posted a reply earlier but I forgot to tell you something else. The shirt that John was wearing was a Walt Disney World shirt that we bought at Wilderness Lodge.

Lisa, you had me going. I thought after your "Wouldn't you know it...." and all the black that your boss interrupted and you stopped typing. Then I scrolled just a little further down and my favorite thing happened....John got another phone call. :lmao::lmao::lmao: And not one, but two within an hour. :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Love the pictures of Hunter with Chip & Dale. I love seeing these guys...they always make a picture great with their antics.

Tomorrowland Transit Authority which has changed it's name back to something with the People Mover in it was closed when we were there last year. I heard the new narrative is awful.

We've always enjoyed seeing Chip & Dale because they seem to spend a lot of time with us. Seeing them in their space outfits made it all the better.

I read that they were changing the name to include People Mover.

Welcome aboard! I hope you'll feel free to post your comments as I post installments.

This is so strange. I can't see the Disney pictures, but saw the Georgia pictures just fine.

Loving your report anyway.

Hey there! Some of my pictures may have a "bandwidth exceeded" message. From what I understand, that happens when there have been lots of people looking at the pics.

Glad to hear that you are enjoying our adventure.

You guys have such a great sense of humor about all those phone calls on your vacation. Even my daughter knows better than to call me when I am at Disney, unless it's an emergency. :crazy2:

I've learned to just live with the phone calls. They say women like to talk on the phone................................umm....................."no comment".

Loving your report! So glad I am finally caught up. I have been reading it before bed and I have lost a lot of sleep over reading!!

Good to see you've caught up! I hate that I have caused you to lose some sleep but at least you were interested enough to keep reading.:thumbsup2

I have to say that the Tomorrowland Transit Authority is one of my favorite rides in all of WDW!!! I love it for some strange reason.

In May, we were getting ready to get on the conveyor belt to go up and this family rushed in front of us. The CM at the bottom of the belt looked at us with a grin and said "Yeah, you've really gotta run to get in line for this one! You wouldn't want to have to wait 10 seconds for another car."

We all started laughing and making cracks about it being so popular, but then we did admit that it's one of our favorites and she agreed with us, but it was too funny to see this family do a huge rush to get in front of us.

I've never understood the people who rush to get in front of others on an attraction. It's still going to be there even if you wait for three or four more people to go in front of you.

We really like the TTA for some reason. Sometimes, we'll even ask if we can stay on and make another loop.

Great update!! I love TTA, too...it is just a nice, relaxing break at the Magic Kingdom.

April, I'm so sorry to have read about your cousin. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Great update! :yay: for Mama handling that TTA conveyer belt. She's a tough lady:goodvibes Chip 'n Dale look so cute in those space costumes! I hope I get to meet them there someday! Can't wait to see when John gets the next phone call:laughing:

Mama is one tough 76 year old woman! I strive to be like her everyday. Well, except for her being a worrywart over everything!

Great Update!! I love reading your trip reports...they give me a Disney fix, while patiently waiting until our next trip :)

I was thinking about you the other day when we mentioned heading up your way this weekend. Do you guys have another trip planned already?

Now there's something I've got to find on my April trip. Space Chip and Dale. They are my favorite so I need a picture with them in the space gear to add to my collection. :)

I have never seen Chip and Dale dressed like that. So cute. I will have to look for them now.

Space Chip & Dale must be something new, cause we got to see them this trip too, but not in 07!

Aren't Chip and Dale the cutest things dressed in thie space gear! This was the first time we had seen them dressed that way. A couple of years ago, we say Mickey and Goofy in similar outfits outside of Mission Space.

Great update! Love, love, love the TTA. And I miss Tom Morrow, also. :sad2:

Isn't it odd how we can all love something as tame as the TTA?

Hey Lisa! I've been reading your TR's and they are wonderful! I'm completely enjoying all of the little details. This is the first time I've commmented and I thought I'd better since the other night I had a dream about Disney and your family was in it! (Does that mean I spend too much time on the DIS???) After that dream I decided I'd better introduce myself! :goodvibes

We'll be heading down to the CBR in about a month and a week and I'm soooo excited especially since I get to read all about it. We've never stayed there before so it will be a new adventure!

Keep up the good work!

Thanks so much for reading and deciding to post! I love hearing what people think about my report(s). Well, was the dream a good one? I sure as heck hope so!

I don't think you'll be disappointed in the CBR. It's such a beautiful resort. Did you see the most recent pics I posted on the CBR picture thread?

How fun to see Chip and DAle in space gear! that is so cute!
I wish Danny would enjoy going every year to see all the little changes like this with Ashton as he grows...

I dream about quite a few of my disser friends and have thought boy I really do follow the dis way too much...:rotfl2:
glad to know I'm not the only one doing this:thumbsup2

There was one year that we thought about NOT going to Disney World. And, then, the fever passed and our minds became sane again.:lmao:

I have had dreams about my Dis friends too.

Oh no! No more Mr. Tom Morrow? Thats a bummer.
I don't think I ev en know where that stage is where you say space chip and dale. I' must not be paying attention too much. But in my defense, most of the time when we're in Tomorrowland it's night, so maybe thats why I miss it?

Well I'm glad to know I'm not completely crazy. I knew there was one like that there.

The stage in Tomorrowland is near the new bathrooms they built by Space Mountain. It's easy to miss unless you are walking over on the TTA loading area side.

Great update Lisa!:goodvibes Love the picture of Chip and Dale in their spacesuits!! So cute!! I can't believe we still haven't rode the TTA.:sad2: It's a must-do for next trip!:thumbsup2

Whaaaaaat? You've never ridden on the TTA? Girlfriend, put it on your trip for next year!

You're definitely not the only one to miss the "Paging Tom Morrow on TTA, or is it People Mover again?? Either way I was sad not to hear it on my last trip.

I've never seen Chip and Dale like that either, they looked really cute!

Terri

When we didn't hear the page for Mr. Morrow, we all looked at each other like "what the heck?"

Hi Lisa! Well, I'm back from our little vacation to NC and Myrtle Beach! It was fun! Glad to be home though! Great update! Ya know, I have never been on the TTA!! :confused3 I don't know why. I've been to WDW a bunch of times! Guess I will put it on my "to do" list for our trip next year! Can't wait to read more!

Welcome home! I am glad to hear that your trip was fun. Do you have pics? I'd love to see 'em.

I just wanted to mention that on this week's podcast on the disboards, they mentioned that Mr. Tom Morrow IS back. It sounds like it's a really, really recent thing. I hope it's back to stay!!!!! :goodvibes

What great news! I hope it's back to stay too. I missed it something awful.

I know you don't like Atlanta traffic... but its home for me!! :rotfl: I love driving through Spaghetti Junction and the HOV lanes! And your pictures of Helen and Cleveland are like a little vacation for me! :thumbsup2

I think we've got to have your head examined? Are you sure you're alright? Atlanta traffic is hecka decka!:lmao:

I wish Dallas would get in line to see the characters, but he thinks he is too big :rolleyes1. The picture of you and your Mom together is very sweet. It is so special that ya'll spend time together. I wanted my Mom to go to Disney with us, but she never would :(

Hunter has no problem getting in line to see the characters (and neither do any of the rest of us). Hunter has this silly little dance where he puts his hand behind his hand and one on his hip and swivels. It's hilarious! He'll do it any time he hears music. Yeah, my kids aren't shy at all!

I so wish you could have gotten to take your mother to Disney. The whole time we are there, I am thinking about the memories we are making.

Wonderful news!! I also hope it's back to stay! It's not a big thing, just something that always made me smile when I heard it.

Terri

Oh yeah it is a big thing! I want Mr. Morrow to stick around!

I can't believe how far behind I got!!! Love your TR! The trip to Dollywood sounds fun. I'm hoping we have a good time when we go to Branson and that my mom can handle all the walking as well as your mom has.

Congrats to your whole family on Lacey's graduation and engagement. How wonderful! Many blessings!!!

The Dollywood trip was fun. It wasn't Disney but it was definitely fun. When did you say you were going to Branson? Do you already have the trip booked? If not, let me know because I get emails from the tourism department all the time and they have some gooddeals in them.

I love reading your trip reports, I got a little behind and finally got caught up tonight, I love the details and the side stories. :surfweb:

Good to hear that you're caught up. I can't see to get caught up with anything now-a-days.:upsidedow

GREAT DISNEY UPDATE. Someday I just might try the Transit Authority ride. :lmao:

And I had never seen Chip and Dale in that kind of outfit. That was a nice treat.

Q

I bet your little Beatriz would love Chip and Dale in their space gear!

Oh no! That sounds like a big mess! Hopefully John will get the job! And I hope your day gets better for you!

Lisa, not the way to start the week. I hope everything works out okay. And don't worry about the replies...we know you're good for them when you get the chance.

Wow sounds like a mess with the car situation. I hope John gets the truck fixed and everything works out. May the rest of your week go betterpixiedust:

Thanks ladies! The truck started just fine yesterday afternoon. I sure hope it stays that way. With our sort of luck, it probably won't but I'm praying it will.

Hi Lisa. Once again...I am caught up on your report. Sounds like a great visit with Lacey....in spite of all the traveling issues! Love the video of Hunter doing his cup stacking! ;)

I've never seen Chip and Dale in the space suits either...way cute!

Hey Missy! The trip to see Lacey turned out great. Little did we know that our baby would be moving home just a few weeks later.

I didn't even know what cup stacking was until he saw it on You Tube or something else. Now, that's all he wants to do.

OH no! I hope you can get the truck fixed....and cheaply!

Well, I don't know what was wrong with the truck but it ran just fine yesterday afternoon. I'm just hope it stays that way.

Bummer about the truck. Tate turned 16 last Tuesday and got her license the same day. :rolleyes1:love: She's been driving my car all week and I was just informed that the check engine light is on????? Could be one of a hundred things but it seems odd. Anyway I feel your pain I'm carless (word?):confused3 also. 18 days til WDW :cool1:

Oh Lordy! You've got a teenager driver now! My check engine light came on on my car about a week before we left for Disney. We chose not to take it in and see what it did. I had read that extreme heat can make something happen in your gas tank and could cause the light to go on and off. We drove all the way to Disney with the light on. When we got ready to leave Disney, it went off. Didn't come back on again until we left to go to Georgia. When we got ready to leave Georgia, it went back off.

Being carless (yes that it a word) totally sucks!

What a crazy day! I hope nothing major is wrong with the truck!

I sure hope it's not either!

It is very stressful when a car is messing up. For the first ohhhhhhhh, 14 years of our marriage, Dale and I had one car. He had his company vehicle for work, but when I worked weekends he would be stranded at home with the kids with no way to go. His company van only has two seats, the driver and a passenger, so there was no getting in that to run to the store. Finally, in 2001, we got a second car :dance3::banana:. I don't know how we ever made it with just one car for so long.

Funny story about cars----It was a Saturday('96 or '97 BD(before Dallas.....:rotfl:) and our one and only car was acting stupid, it was still under warranty, but the service department at the dealership was closed on the weekend. Anyway, we wanted to go to the car races at our local track so his brother let us borrow his old car, it was probably a 75 or so model Datsun.......:lmao::rotfl2:. We took Amanda and Tyler to my mom's house because they didn't want to go. SOOOOO off we go. As we were driving down Hwy. 90 we hear a LOUD boom and the car started filling up with smoke :scared1::eek:. We pulled to the side of the road and Dale, who knows NOTHING about car repair, gets out and opens the hood......well, he did know what happened here, the A/C hose had burst, thus the smoke filling the car :lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:. We did not let it ruin our Saturday night out though, he got back in the car, we rolled the windows down and on to the races we went :lmao:.

Sorry I hijacked your TR Lisa, I just think it is funny how similar are lives are ;).

Funny story! Totally sounds like something that would happen to use. Since we're telling funny car stories I've got one!

We were in my Mustang and driving down mountain roads to Hot Springs, Arkansas. The road was just two lanes and it was winding. We got around a curve and we see this black something or other floating off the ground. I wanted to avoid it but there was a car coming and there was a car behind us. So, I ran over it.

We looked in the rear view mirrors and didn't see it come out the backside. We drove on a little further and we started smelling something and we saw a little smoke. I pulled over as soon as I could and John got out to look under the car (like he would know what was wrong if there was something wrong:sad2:). The black floating thing was an empty garbage bag and it had gotten stuck to the underside of the car and was melting! There was no way to pull it off. So, we drove the rest of the way into Hot Springs smelling like a big old melted plastic bag. It was horrible!

To this day, every and I mean every time we go to Hot Springs, we laugh about the melting garbage bag.

Yay for being rewarded for following the rules! It's great when stuff like that happens. I love the Carousel of Progress. I haven't been for a few trips because the rest of my family is a bit bored by it. Cool that you got to meet Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum. We've seen Alice there a few times, but never the Tweedles.

Great pic of the man in his mouse ears and purse? It made me smile!

I loved the story about the vip pass and line cutters I couldn't imagine cutting in front of other people. I'm glad the cm spoke loud enough for the cutters to hear.

COP is one of my favorites its just so classic disney (I love anything with animatronics )

I miss the old audio on the TTA so much. When we went last Oct. they had changed it and it really took something away from the ride and you can't see in space mountain anymore:sad1:

Glad to hear the truck started today and that it stays that way!
Can't wait to hear more!

Thanks for another great update! I hate it when people jump lines like that, but how cool you got rewarded for doing the right thing! I was glad the CM said what she did in front of the people who jumped in front of you, but sadly it probably didn't bother them or they wouldn't have done it in the first place.

I have always loved COP. I don't know what it is about it, but I have to see it every time I go.

Terri

Glad to hear that the truck seems to be working fine.

Loved the MK update! The People Mover is one of our family's favorites, and we always have, always will call it the People Mover. No matter what sign is there. Such a fun, peaceful ride and great views of Tomorrowland!

We saw Chip and Dale in their space suits from the People Mover on our last trip, but we did not get up close and personal with them.

Super story about the karma on Buzz! So great of the CM to note your politeness and get across the message to the other group that they were RUDE!

Morning friends!

I am working on an update as we speak....well type....you know what I meant. I'm waiting on a few pictures to upload to photobucket so I can get back to writing.

Lacey made it home from Knoxville yesterday afternoon. She had gone there to spend some time with Jesse. I had her calling me every hour or two to let me know where she was and that she was okay. It bothers me when she's driving by herself for long distances. There are so many creepos out there that prey on young women traveling alone.

John has officially become an employee again. He's now working for an old employer. They were needing someone to build cabinets for them so John went back to work there. Being self-employed has it's perks but there are also drawbacks. It will be nice to have another paycheck coming in that I know I can count on. And, still, John can do the other cabinet jobs that come in through our own business.

Since John won't be working for this employer a year by next May, it may just be Hunter, Mama and I going to Disney World next year. There's even a possibility that it will just be Hunter and I. Mama is having some major dental work done and it's going to cost an arm, a leg and she may even have to sell some blood to pay for it all. Okay, so I'm exaggerating about selling body parts and blood but it is going to be rather costly.

We really don't want to push the vacation issue too much with John's boss (even though we've known him for about 20 years) because we know John will have to take off work when Lacey gets married. Walking your daughter down the aisle? Walking around Walt Disney World? Hummmm, it's a hard decision but I thinking walking your daughter down the aisle wins.

For right now, I am leaving the vacation booked just like it is. I'll leave John on the vacation reservation until I know for sure what we are going to do. I'm pondering several options right now.

Oh, you may remember that I am starting my new business selling Disney themed items. I've started building up my stock and have a few things that I will be listing for sale soon. I will have all sorts of things including Disney purses, closet organizers, dog bandanas with Mickey heads on them, Disney backsacks and even Walt Disney World merchandise. I'm trying to sell items that I know all of my Dis friends could use on their Disney trips, to give as gifts and in their everyday life.

I've been selling stuff on Ebay for years and years under the same user name I have here on the Dis....mickeystoontown. I think I am going to sell my Disney Designs items under that name as well. I already have great feedback using mickeystoontown and that is one of the things people look at when purchasing items on Ebay.

You would know that, in addition to the truck konking out on us (but it's back up and running right now), my sewing machine died. I bought a new one yesterday and I am hoping that it will pay for itself quickly once I get my Disney Designs listed.

Well, my pictures should be uploaded by now. The boss should also be walking in any minute so I better get busy (or at least pretend I am while typing an installment).

After meeting Tweedle Dum and Tweedle Dee, we started walking over toward Pinocchio's Village Haus and that's when we noticed the walls they had put up due to expansion of Fantasyland. Pooh's Playful Spot tree had been moved over near the entrance to the Pooh attraction and there was a wall around it. Other than the walls, we couldn't see any real construction going on. It had started to sprinkle a little but not enough that we needed our ponchos. But, from the way the sky was looking, we would probably need them sometime soon.

We made it to Pinocchio's and so did a lot of other folks. It was crowded but not so crowded that you would turn around and find someplace else to eat. There were castmembers standing there with signs and they would escort you into the restaurant after you had gotten your food order. No more saving seats/tables in Pinocchio's Haus! John and Hunter stood around talking to one of the castmembers while Mama and I stood in line to place our orders.

Once we had our food, we wiggled our way out of the line and over to where John and Hunter stood. The castmember held his little paddle sign high and found a table for us. After going back and forth and getting forks, knives, pepper and salad dressing, we were ready to chow done on the yummy looking food.

John got the meatball sandwich and side salad. He said the sandwich was just okay. There seemed to be a lot of bread which could have been why it was just okay.

SANY2569.jpg

Mama got the Mediterranean salad. I just had to get a nibble or two and it was delish:

SANY2570.jpg

I ordered the chicken caeser salad which is my favorite salad in the whole "world":

SANY2571.jpg

I guess I didn't get a picture of Hunter's cheese pizza. It must have been good because I remember him eating every little bite.

You can also see in the pictures that we got the strawberry cheesecake. There was also a strawberry yogurt in the pic too but you can't see it well.

Once our tummies were full and satisfied, we figured now would be a good time to explore Fantasyland. What to do? What to do? Well, the first thing to do was find a potty! Fortunately, the Prince and Princess guests have a potty right next door to Pinocchio's Haus. Now that our bladders were also satisfied, we headed over to Mickey's PhilarMagic. It had started to sprinkle in earnest by that time so we walked fast. I didn't want to break out the ponchos just yet.

Just as we got under the cover, it started raining. More than just a few sprinkles too. Here we are waiting in line:

SANY2573.jpg

SANY2572.jpg

We found a hidden Mickey on the wall mural:

SANY2575.jpg

The line started moving and I had just enough time to snap a pic of Wheezy:

SANY2576.jpg

I always always always have to sing when the Lion King section of the show comes on. "Everybody look left. Everybody look right..................." Hunter just looked at me and shook his head. "Oh I just can't wait to be kiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiing!" More head shaking from Hunter.:sad2: Let him shake his head because I love it! Oh, and the rest of the family enjoyed it too.:thumbsup2

Once the doors to the theater opened everybody started walking out and then BAM! Everybody stopped walking. It was raining hard outside. The castmembers were telling everybody to keep walking forward. The people in the front weren't moving an inch. I told everybody to follow me and I inched our way into the store next to the theater. Everybody else in the whole wide world decided to do the same thing and we were stuffed in there like the proverbial sardines. And this is when we realized that some people don't use deodorant. Or if they do, it had now worn off!:sad1:

****Up next: Do we ever get away from the long lost dwarfs....Stinky and Smelly?

Lisa, glad to hear Lacey made it home safe and sound. Congrats to John on the job...that's great and the extra money will certainly come in handy with the wedding. Too bad about John maybe not being able to go to Disney (and Mama too). Could you put it off until late summer before Hunter started school?

Loved your latest update. Too funny about the "missing dwarfs -- Stinky and Smelly." :rotfl::rotfl:

Of course I hope John and your Mama can make it on your trip, but you'll have a great time if it is just Hunter and you. As you know from my TR, I had a fabulous time with just my boys! Great update! Did you like the new seating system at Pinocchio Haus? I wonder if that will be all the time or just seasonal.

I was happy to hear Lacey say that she had made it home okay. I always worry when she's on the road by herself.

John didn't really want a full time job again because we had gotten so used to him taking off when he wanted, not having to answer to someone else, etc. But, it's going to be nice to have a "for sure" income coming in every week.

Our school start on or about August 15th every year so we couldn't wait too long into August before going. We'll just see how it plays out. John may end up not liking working for anyone else and go back to being self-employed full time. Who knows what the future holds?

You were the first person that I thought of when we said John may not go with us. I know, for a fact, that Hunter and I would have a great time with just the two of us. It's just knowing that John is home working that would be a downer.

I had read somewhere about Disney having the "no seat saving" rule in a few of the counter service restaurants before we left. Pinocchio's was the only place we went that they did that.
