Who knew choking each other would earn us fastpasses?

Love the update. Skip is like that about ran. It's a farmer thing here though. But everyone is always comparing how much they got.

Good girl Lisa :thumbsup2. You nursed that bird back to health :goodvibes. I'm glad I was able to catch up before you posted more on your TR, I am such a bad Disser since we got home :sad2:.

Great job with Flik!!! :goodvibes

So good to know that Flik took off and has joined his other "feathered" friends.

Yay for Flik!

I know! I couldn't believe that the little guy/girl was ready to spread his wings and fly away. I was a little sad though that he wasn't really at his original home though. John said he had it made at our house because we have a birdbath, three or four bird feeders and birdhouses all over the place. What more could a bird ask for?:rotfl:

Great update! Genius idea about Ellen's Energy. I knew that ride was good for something:rolleyes: Looks like a fun DIS meet too. Good looking group of people:goodvibes

I thought it was a pretty good idea too. Especially since Hunter likes the ride and Mama didn't remember if we had ridden it back in 2000.

That slushie looks good. I have never had one, but I might spring for one next trip. I always hear about them. Does it taste very alcoholly? (Yes that is a word, because I said so. LOL)

It does have a bit of an alcohol taste to it. I am so not a drinker so I didn't finish it all. John did. Hey, I thought alcoholly was a word. It's not?

I would love to be with my Dis buds having one of those slushies right about now :goodvibes

Great update :thumbsup2.

I'd love to be sitting at Disney right now with my Dis friends instead of this doggone office!

Great update! Dis Meets are the best.:thumbsup2 Your slushy looks very refreshing. I'm going to have to break down next time and get one.

This was the first time that I tried one of the slushies. It was pretty dang good and that's coming from a non-drinker.

Great update!!:goodvibes YAY! for a Dis meet!! :yay: It looks like it was a fun time! Oh...that orange slushy looks so yummy! I couldn't resist it either on my trip! It was so refreshing...loved it!! :thumbsup2

I kept hearing everybody talk about how good they were so we had to try one.

That DIS meet looks like a ton of fun! We missed a group one during our trip - they decided to have it at the exact time we had an ADR. :sad2: Glad you figured out how to help Mama take it easy and still attend the meet!

The meet was fun. We had a good time just chatting and talking about our trips.

I had my first slushie this year and it was terrific! It was probably the best drink I have had at WDW. I WILL be back. :cool1:

Glad you connected with the DIS friends for the DIS meet. I was really sorry that we just missed that. It is funny how we feel that we really know each other from these TR's. But super nice to meet in person. :goodvibes

Have y'all been inundated with rain this week? I have mushrooms growing between my toes, I think.:rotfl:

Just now got a chance to respond and, of course, there's no rain around our house now. I wish it would rain because our grass is starting to die in places.

That slushie has definately made my list of things to get on my next trip!

Add it to the list 'cause it's definitely worth trying!

I enjoyed the last update very much! Test Track is always so much fun. I'm happy to hear your mother was able to get in and out just fine and enjoyed herself. It sounds as if she had her own little personal tour guide!

The shopping pictures were great. I always like to find a good deal at Disney and it looks as if you found one with that Mickey necklace. And how nice to be able to shop for your Christmas presents at Disney. I know that if I were the recipiant, the gifts from Disney would be my favorite! :goodvibes

I love Test Track! And I never seem to hit the sales no matter where I go & Disney was included in that! We realized that no one, not even Shelby got clothes from Disney!

Wow a shopping update. I love shopping:lovestruc. I like your idea about collecting disney kitchen things. I may have to do that for Courntey. I know she isn't getting married anytime soon but I will have a head start. Great idea to take a christmas list with you:thumbsup2,

Loved the update!!I am so looking forward to trying that slushie!! I hope we canget in Test Track. That is so nice that you are starting a hope chest for Lacy, and you did good with just the 1 onsie..little girl clothes can get you in trouble!!
Good Lordy Miss Jordy! It seems like forever since I've really posted something meaningful on my trip report. Much less reply to everybody. Hope that everybody is still with me.

I thought I was going to write something this weekend but John's brother and his family were in town. The visit resulted in something very very good. His brother has been voted in as pastor of John's Dad's church. John's Dad is retiring as a pastor and they had several pastors come and preach including one of John's brothers. They have been pastoring a church in Mississippi for four, maybe five, years and have wanted to move home for a while now. So, not only will another McBride be pastoring the church but John's brother will be back home which is a good thing. John will have his fishing and hunting buddy back.

My boss is still away at lunch so I am going to try and write up an installment. I may have to stop if he comes back in but I'll just minimize the screen and finish writing when his 2:00 appointment gets here. :rolleyes1

Oh and I forgot to say that we have decided we are going to try to work in another day to next year's trip to Disney. I think we're going to arrive on a Wednesday instead of a Thursday. The boss is probably going to be ticked off at me but I am thinking he'll get over it.;)

Congrats to John's brother and how nice to have his fishing and hunting back in town!! YAY on the extra day!

Love this update! Test Track and shopping! I'm enjoying the details in your report too. It's so much better than we did this and we did that. :lmao:

"Rot Date" that's a new one for me, but I like it.

I just got caught up on your TR. Disney shopping is so much fun! It was nice that you made it to your DIS meet. We are going to one in Indianapolis over Labor Day weekend. It will be the third year in a row for us. It is always a good time.

I love Mouse Gears. I think I actually like it better than World of Disney in DTD. That might be because I don't get lost in Mousegears like I do in World of Disney, though. :rolleyes1

Glad you got to spend a little extra time with you DIS friend. Mama seems to really be enjoying herself in all your pictures...she probably has no idea how you worried about her from time to time!

It's billing time again in the office so I will be on and off the boards today. I've said it one hundred and fifty thousand times that I hate billing! It's almost as bad as "that time of the month" for us women.

I'll try to get back and post replies to everybody.

I did have something to share though. I'm always watching the Discounts and Codes forums to see what the latest rumor is on upcoming discounts. There's a thread that says that a lot of folks were getting free dining pins that included dates that are blacked out to the general public. We really wanted to go to Disney over the Thanksgiving holidays and those dates are blacked out from all promotions. So, I gave up on it completely.

Well, lo and behold, guess what Mama gets this morning via my email? The free dining pin. I've been trying to get pins from Disney for years now and have had no luck at all. But, my mother who has only stayed on Disney property once in her 76 years and who has no email address (had to use one of mine) got a pin code. Gosh darn it!

Anyway, Thanksgiving is still blacked out. But, if we arrived on the 23rd of November and stayed for 5 days, we could book with her pin. However, there's no way that I can get off work early for Thanksgiving. It's just the boss and I in the office and it gets really stressful asking for extra time off. Besides, I would rather take extra days off work for our Summer trip to Disney than to ask for the extra days off during Thanksgiving week.

Oh well, I'm hoping that, when they see that Mama didn't use the pin they sent her, Disney will send her another one that we can use for our Summer trip.

Okay, so I'm going back to billing. I'll try and come back and post replies soon.

Don't give up on using that code that came to your Mama using your email account. They let me use it this past trip with no problems. I receive pin codes all the time for my sister who has come along with us before and everything was under my email. After discussing this with CRO that i will never get my own pins because they have her name associated with my email, they conceded and let me use it with no problems. She also gets them to her email address at the same time that i get them. Go figure.

Whew, I am way behind! I loooove the story of the tooth incident. I cracked up reading just now. I am all caught up and ready for more fun! I love mousegears also. It is such a great store.

Glad to see ya back Lisa!! Great update!!! I too love the Mousegear store! They have so much stuff!!! That is so exciting about Lacey getting married! I wasn't aware that they had picked a date. Good Luck with that! Well, can't wait to read more!!! Hope you have a magical disney day!!!::MinnieMo

I LOVE the photo of you & Dana!!! :thumbsup2 Makes me wish I was there!

Great update! So glad that you to meet up with all of your DIS buddies. And that Slushie looks sooooo good... :drinking1

Glad you got to enjoy the DIS meet for a bit!

I keep telling myself I'm going to get one of the slushies one of these trips, but it never happens.

We just found out we are going again in September, so I may just have to break down and try one.

Ya'll have got to try the slushies. I'm not a drinker and it tasted good even to me.

I chuckled when I read about you wanting to buy that "Mine, Mine, Mine" shirt for Lacey's mission leaders. One day soon, they'll know exactly what we already know!

Great DIS meet---hate that I missed that one. I had to smile when you said that about Walt being proud!

Yea, they'll be hearing "mine mine mine" before they know it!

I really do think Walt would be proud of how Disney has brought together so many people.

I am all caught up. I would love to do a DIS meet one day! I think that would be awesome! You always take the best pics!!! Have a great weekend!

The Dis Meet was fun and I am glad that at least John and I were able to make it over there.

Thanks for the compliment on the pictures. I would love to have a really good camera so I could take some great pictures. But, then again, I probably wouldn't know how to operate it.

Sorry I haven't posted in a while!! I love seeing Hunter and your Mom together. It's so sweet! The DIS meet looks like it was fun! I felt the same way with an earlier DIS meet. I was so nervous. But it was so much fun.

I was thinking about you the other day! Mama and Hunter are such good pals and that warms my heart.

I'm here! I'm here!

I followed your link from a CBR thread on Dis Resorts. We are heading to CBR this December. I haven't stayed there for about 15 years, when I used to go with my family as a teenager. I'm so excited!

I love your style and family- it's like I've known you for a long time :). Looking forward to more!

Well hello! I love hearing from new readers! I wish I was going back to the CBR in December.

I am a total noob on the Dis boards, but I stumbled across your TR and am very much enjoying it. :thumbsup2 I'm planning our trip at the end of Sept. and my DH is tired of me talking about it, but I need my Disney fix! Thank you for writing in such an inviting, friendly, and welcoming style.
Can't wait for the next installment!

Amanda in TN

Welcome newbie! As you can tell, I am such a detail person and our family loves spending time together!

As far as talking about Disney all the time, ummmmm, let's just say I'm right there with ya. If I'm not talking about Disney, I'm reading about Disney.

I love your Mama's 'Beverly' face!!! She's very polite! You should see my DH's Beverly face!!!! LOL.

I, too, just loved Soarin' and it's so neat that you could hear your Mama giggling like that, that is a wonderful memory to have!

OMG, I had totally forgotten about that and it was hilarious the way you told it- including calling them fartheads!!! :rotfl: Loving your TR Lisa!!! P.S. I LOVED the Gran Marnier Slush!!!!!

My men are fartheads sometimes!

Great TR!

Thank you for sharing.

Lisa

Hey there! I'm glad that you're enjoying the report!

This is wonderful news, Lisa. I think that any extra time in Disney is worth the boss being mad for a moment or two! :goodvibes

Yea, that's the way I am looking at it too. It really is hard on my boss when I am on vacation. It's just he and I here in the office and I have to get a temp in to answer the phones. Oh well, guess the temp will be here an extra day next year won't she.;)

Congrats to John's brother! That is great news!

Also, congrats on adding another day to the trip!

I asked for my September days off, but I haven't told the bosses where we are going for hubby's grandma's birthday. They already think I'm Disney nuts for going once a year....they are going to really love a second trip. LOL

Can't wait for a new installment!

We took his brother and his son out to eat Saturday night. His brother was so nervous and didn't really eat much. We told him we would pray for him and that we knew everything would be okay. So, I was happy to hear that they voted him in.

When I started this job, I told my boss right up front that I go to Disney every year. He hasn't made too many comments about it other than "don't you get tired of going there?" I'm just going to plan on that extra day and then break it to him later.

Great update, love all the little details you always give. It makes me feel like I was there- in fact I kept looking for myself in the background of the pictures, lol!!!

I've said it before but I'll say it again.....I sometimes wonder if I put in too many details. I think some of that comes from drafting legal documents and knowing that we have to get everything in there otherwise the other attorney will try to get it kicked out for being vague. I certainly don't want my trip report to be vague.

Love the update. Skip is like that about ran. It's a farmer thing here though. But everyone is always comparing how much they got.

My daddy used to measure the rain too and he would talk to his brother and sisters and ask how much they got. So, we've always had a rain gauge. Now, we have a cute little Mickey one.

:goodvibes

The boy who was sitting by Mama was a character himself.

I love finding good deals anywhere especially at Disney. We draw Christmas names at Easter so we have over a half a year to look for something unique.

I love Test Track! And I never seem to hit the sales no matter where I go & Disney was included in that! We realized that no one, not even Shelby got clothes from Disney!

Another reason to go back to Disney!

Wow a shopping update. I love shopping:lovestruc. I like your idea about collecting disney kitchen things. I may have to do that for Courntey. I know she isn't getting married anytime soon but I will have a head start. Great idea to take a christmas list with you:thumbsup2,

I am not too much of a shopper while at home but I love me some shoppin' at Disney! I've been picking little stuff up for Lacey for a while now. I'm hoping it won't hurt my pocketbook so much when she does go out on her own (or get married, whichever comes first).

Loved the update!!I am so looking forward to trying that slushie!! I hope we canget in Test Track. That is so nice that you are starting a hope chest for Lacy, and you did good with just the 1 onsie..little girl clothes can get you in trouble!!

Congrats to John's brother and how nice to have his fishing and hunting back in town!! YAY on the extra day!

I figured I could start getting a few things at a time and put them away. Buying a little here and a little there makes it feel like you're not spending as much.

We were so happy for John's brother.

Love this update! Test Track and shopping! I'm enjoying the details in your report too. It's so much better than we did this and we did that. :lmao:

"Rot Date" that's a new one for me, but I like it.

Nothing's better than Test Track and shopping! I love putting in all the details. I find myself smiling a lot when I'm typing it all out.

Feel free to use "rot date". I picked that up from my sister's ex-husband years and years ago.

I just got caught up on your TR. Disney shopping is so much fun! It was nice that you made it to your DIS meet. We are going to one in Indianapolis over Labor Day weekend. It will be the third year in a row for us. It is always a good time.

There are a couple of us Louisiana girls who are talking about a Dis Meet here in my home town. I think it would be great fun!

So, I'm not the only one who gets all turned around and lost in World of Disney. I do it every time.

Mama still has no clue that we were being extra careful and taking our own sweet time just for her benefit. I certainly would never want her to think she was a hinderance.

Hi Lisa! I'm back from my camping adventure and trying to get caught up on all my DIS buddies' reports....I started with you!

Great updates! Yay for Flik healing and setting off on his own. I'm not a big fan of the feathered friends, as you know, but I'm glad that your little adoptee made it!

A DIS meet, Gran Marnier slushie, Test Track, and shopping.....my idea of a great day! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2
