Who knew choking each other would earn us fastpasses?

I am glad I found your trip report. I kinda got backed up on reading the ones I subscribed to. I haven't been on Disboards too much lately. I thought of you last month when we went to Monroe for Courtney's orientation at ULM. We are moving her into her dorm August 20th. How in the world am I supposed to just leave my baby there? I read your whole trip report up till now tonight. I love it. I can't wait to read more. I will try to keep up and maybe we can have a Louisiana Dis meet in Monroe in August or Sept. or Oct. or Nov. I may be there a lot. I know I can't go every weekend I need to let her adjust. But seriously we can try to meet in August. Your momma is so cute. I wish my Moma would go to Disney World with us.

So glad that you found me! I know exactly how you feel about your baby moving away from home. I hate to tell you but it doesn't get any better. Even though Lacey's been away for 3 years now, I still miss her like crazy.

I am serious when I tell you that I don't mind helping Courtney out if she were to ever have an emergency. I can p.m. you with my contact numbers if you want them.

I would love to do a Dis Meet. Just let me know when you're going to be in the area and we can try to coordinate something.

The picture of John on the phone leaning against the wall strikes me very funny. Did he happen to swim with "Bruce" while you were at The Sea's with Nemo and Friends? pirate: It looks like he is missing his left leg.

I thought the same thing! He truly looked one legged.

Oh Yay! A fish update! ;) LOL! Just kidding! You really got great pics of the fish...that's hard to do!

Oh John and the phone. :rolleyes1 You seem very good natured about it...I might not be so nice!

Missy, I know that you are such a big fan of fish so I threw in a few extra just for you.

I try to keep in mind that whoever is calling John may just be a potential paycheck.

I love your pictures of the fish!!! I especially love the video of the seahorses. They are so cool. :)

I loved watching the sea horses and those grass/blade/whatever the correct name is fish.

Aww...we love the Nemo ride! Glad it wasn't too long of a wait.:thumbsup2 You got some really great fish pictures..wow! Although, I did have to look away at the eel picture...yuck! It's so nice to see your mom and Hunter together so much. I know when we took my parent's last year...wherever my mom was, that is where you would find the boys. They just loved showing her and my father around.

Mama said the eels looked too much likes snakes and wouldn't look at them. She hates hates hates snakes!

Yay! Another update!! I too thought for sure the dun dun dun was a potty break!!LOL

Believe me, before I left the building, I was looking for a bathroom.

Great updates---I was two behind!

That Hunter has Mama wrapped around his finger, doesn't he? She loves him a lot!

Hunter definitely has his grandmother wrapped around his finger. They are the best of friends which I think is absolutely wonderful.

Great update! I liked your fish pictures. I admit we didn't hang around and look at the fish much at all this year. And I agree with the prev. poster - John looks like he's missing a leg! Loved the Bruce comment!

Good luck with the baby bird! :goodvibes I know we tried to help a little one that fell out of the nest when we were little...let's just say I hope you have better luck! It sounds like the one in your care right now might be quite a bit older than the one we found, though!

I had even more fish pictures but didn't want to bore ya'll to much. Flik has officially left his temporary nest and is back in the wild.

Great update Lisa! Love the fish pics. I think your Mama and Hunter are so cute together. Love the pic of them looking at the fish together.

You are a much better sport about the phone than Joe is. I can feeling him piercing me with his eyes when I answer a work call. :lmao:

Congrats on the newest member of your family. Hope you find some things to feed the poor little fella.

Mama and Hunter stuck by each other's side all day long.

I take the phone calls in stride. The way I look at it is that phone call may just make us some Disney dollars.

Oh, I'm glad you're trying to save the little guy. Hope he makes it.

Goodluck with the bird. I wonder if he'll make it? My friend is good at nursing animals like that too, ....Me I look at them and they die. LOL!

Good luck with Flik I hope he makes it. Have a great 4th!

My family rescued a baby robin once and were told to feed it dry dog food soaked in water mixed with baby cereal. We feed the bird with one of those baby medicine syrings(spelling) it worked really well and when the bird got big enough we feed it meal worms from the pet store.

Hope this helps!:goodvibes

And how is Flik doing? We have so many nests in our trees in front of our house this year that it is unreal. We've had some wicked storms and I keep praying that those nests stay intact and nothing falls out of them.

Hope you had a great 4th of July weekend.

I hope Flik is ok! :goodvibes

Thanks everybody! I was worried that Flik wouldn't make it but he flew right out the door the next morning. I guess a little rest and some sugar water is just what a little birdie needs.

Lisa, I followed you on all your TRs an they never disappoint. Im glad your mom got to go on the trip. It must a been soo much fun having a new guest to your Magical Vacation. Also good luck with FLik

I'm so glad that you came over! Mama had a great time on the trip!

Good girl Lisa :thumbsup2. You nursed that bird back to health :goodvibes. I'm glad I was able to catch up before you posted more on your TR, I am such a bad Disser since we got home :sad2:.

So good to know that Flik took off and has joined his other "feathered" friends.

I found a couple more pictures that I took while in The Seas:

Before leaving The Seas, I had to make a potty stop, of course. Once that was done, we walked through the gift shop and I saw a cute little onesie that had the seagulls on it and it said "Mine Mine Mine". Lacey's Mission leaders were expecting a baby and I thought about getting it for them. I finally decided against it because even though I know the seagulls from the movie Nemo, they may not, meaning they wouldn't get the joke.

We started wondering what we were going to do next. There really wasn't a whole lot of time before we had to be at the Dis Meet. I was having some trepidation about Mama walking all the way around World Showcase to where the Dis Meet was to take place. Now, I must confess that I even said "I can miss the Dis Meet if I need to." I really didn't want to miss the Dis Meet but I also didn't want Mama having to walk really fast in order to get there.

I guess since my feeble brain didn't get a headache from my first thought (you know the one about going and getting the Test Track Fastpasses), it thought why not give Mrs. Lisa another idea. Mama and Hunter would go to Ellen's Universe of Energy and ride that and John and I would hotfoot it over to France to the Dis Meet. Taaaa-daaaa! That would fix the problem. I really really wanted to show off Mama and Hunter to my Dis friends but I knew it wasn't happening. So, we went with my taaaa-daaaa plan.

I think I remember taking this picture when we were walking towards Ellen:

SANY2485-2.jpg

We walked between the two buildings and I pointed Mama and Hunter in the direction of Ellen's Universe of Energy and John and I set off for France. We started the walk from the Canada side but we didn't stop in either Canada or United Kingdom. I wanted to make sure were at the Dis Meet in time.

I looked at my watch and we had a little bit of time before we had to be in France so we stopped in the International Gateway store to have a look around. John bought a pair of socks because he had on his Crocs and he thought he felt a blister starting to form on his foot. I also bought Hunter a bag of gummies. I sure didn't want to leave the blissful cool air in the store but it was time for us to head to France.

Just as we got to the bridge, we saw a Photopass photographer and there were only two couples in line. We waited and had our picture made. I'll insert the photopass picture here when the cd comes in. We thanked the photographer and continued on our way.

I knew that we were supposed to meet somewhere near the fountain but I couldn't find anybody. We waited a few minutes and still didn't see anybody. I told John that maybe I had the wrong meeting place so we walked on a little further.

There was a large group of people gathered around watching this guy:

I kept my eyes peeled for anybody that I recognized. As I was looking around, I saw this lady sitting across the way from us. John and I had to laugh because she sure wasn't sitting very ladylike:

John and I knew we weren't going to be able to see anybody through the crowds so we went in search for him a nice cool beer. We found one several pavilions down. We came back to a table to wait for the crowd to clear. Here's a pic of John's half full cup of beer:

SANY2492-2.jpg

And here's a picture of the lady across the way. Apparently, she realized how she was sitting earlier and changed how she sat:

I told John that I was going to give it another five minutes and then text Dana to see where everybody was. In the meantime, I took pictures:

Just as I started texting Dana, John's phone rang. It was Dana! She told John where everybody was standing and we made our way over.

I'm going to confess right now that I was a little nervous about the meeting. I was so scared that I wouldn't recognize anybody and I would embarass myself. I seriously had a nightmare a few days before the meet that I walked up to everybody and I didn't know who anybody was except for Dana. I was holding onto her arm and the background was spinning like when Alice falls into the rabbit hole.

However, all of those fears were put to rest 'cause I recognized everybody! We all stood around and chatted a while. We talked about our travels to Disney, the things we had done and wanted to do.

It was hotter than hecka decka outside and we were in the sun too!
After a little while, I told everybody that we needed to hit the pavement and get back to Mama and Hunter. First, I wanted a group picture:

SANY2496-2.jpg

Now, if you look really close, you'll see that I am not even in the picture! What in the world was I thinking? I should have asked somebody...anybody to take a picture with me in the group. Oh well, we'll just have to meet up again and have another Dis Meet so I can be in the picture.

It was really nice to meet people that I talk to on a near daily basis. Again, Walt would be proud.

Dana asked us which way we were headed and we told her back to Ellen's Universe of Energy to get Hunter and Mama. We had Fastpasses for Test Track that we needed to use. Dana did too! So, she decided to make the walk to Future World with us.

But, not before we stopped to get a Grand Marnier slushie. This was the first time I had ever tried one. I had John take a picture of Dana and I wish our slushies:

***Up next: A ride on Test Track with my Dis buddy!

Great update! Genius idea about Ellen's Energy. I knew that ride was good for something:rolleyes: Looks like a fun DIS meet too. Good looking group of people:goodvibes

That slushie looks good. I have never had one, but I might spring for one next trip. I always hear about them. Does it taste very alcoholly? (Yes that is a word, because I said so. LOL)

I would love to be with my Dis buds having one of those slushies right about now :goodvibes

Great update :thumbsup2.

Great update! Dis Meets are the best.:thumbsup2 Your slushy looks very refreshing. I'm going to have to break down next time and get one.

Great update!!:goodvibes YAY! for a Dis meet!! :yay: It looks like it was a fun time! Oh...that orange slushy looks so yummy! I couldn't resist it either on my trip! It was so refreshing...loved it!! :thumbsup2

That DIS meet looks like a ton of fun! We missed a group one during our trip - they decided to have it at the exact time we had an ADR. :sad2: Glad you figured out how to help Mama take it easy and still attend the meet!

I had my first slushie this year and it was terrific! It was probably the best drink I have had at WDW. I WILL be back. :cool1:

Glad you connected with the DIS friends for the DIS meet. I was really sorry that we just missed that. It is funny how we feel that we really know each other from these TR's. But super nice to meet in person. :goodvibes

Have y'all been inundated with rain this week? I have mushrooms growing between my toes, I think.:rotfl:

That slushie has definately made my list of things to get on my next trip!

I LOVE the photo of you & Dana!!! :thumbsup2 Makes me wish I was there!

Glad you got to enjoy the DIS meet for a bit!

I keep telling myself I'm going to get one of the slushies one of these trips, but it never happens.

We just found out we are going again in September, so I may just have to break down and try one.
