Hey, Lisa! This is really enjoyable! I had to laugh about the "smells" comment. In 2008 we stayed at the Beach Club and several of us on the resorts discussions made comments about the smell of the Beach Club. Lo and behold, one of the CMs that worked there also comments on the thread and filled us in on the secret. They have scent machines! From scentairhome.com you can order one for yourself. She was even kind enough to fill us in on the scent the Beach Club uses! I ordered one during one of their sales, and I love it! My house can smell like the Beach Club whenever I feel the need for a little fix.

A lot of the higher end hotel chains do this - they have their signature scent. For the Westin hotel chain they call theirs "White Tea". I wonder if we can find out what the signature scent is for CBR

YAY for finally getting to CBR!!! That's too funny that your mom isn't there yet until she is at CBR.

We really liked CBR when we stayed there. We picked it for our honeymoon. We had a lovely time!

Mama simply insisted that we weren't there until we actually made it to the CBR Custom House. Silly thing!

Yay you made it Lisa! CBR is such a beautiful resort. I love the atmosphere there.

I love the atmosphere of the CBR too. We don't spend a whole lot of time at the resort but when we are there, we really enjoy it.

So, you don't like the flamingos, wizards and mermaids I have decorating my yard?

I have to agree with you, the sign is one of my top things to see also. It means for the next week I'm in "another world" away from all the stress.

Amen to that! Once I'm under that beautiful archway, my cares are washed away.

Looking forward to reading more about your trip. You and your family sound like a great group of people to hang out with - lol. We are staying at the Carribean for 12 nights in August. We haven't stayed here since 2003 and looking forward to it.

Thanks for being here! We like to have fun together, that's for sure. I wish I were headed back to the CBR with you. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised by the changes to the resort.

I'm like you--As soon as I drive onto Disney property--I'm there!

CBR looks pretty-We've never stayed there, never even been over there. Have the rooms always been painted that pale blue color, or have they been redone?

I'm like you....as soon as I hit Disney property, I'm there.

Honestly, I can't remember what color the walls used to be before the refurb. I'd have to go back and look at my older pictures.

The resort is nice. It's not fancy smansy but it's also not a bare to the bone resort.

Great Update!!! I love the CBR. It is just so relaxing and you feel as if you are taking a mini vacation within your vacation when you are there.

I wholeheartedly agree with you about the CBR. It has a Disney feel but it also feels like you are a million miles away from the rest of the world. Ahhhh!

I'm here! wow page 11 already. I'm late joining because I just got back from a fun vacation at Busch Gardens Williamsburg. River wants me to tell you how much he loves his first grown up roller coaster The Loch Ness Monster and that it goes upside down It made me kinda sick. I'm glad you got all your room requests! I can't wait to see what happens next!

Hey girl! Glad you are here! You tell River that I am very proud of him. Tell him, also, that I didn't ride a roller coaster that went upside down until I rode Rock n Roller Coaster a few years back. He's got me beat by a mile!

Now, we have to decide where we're staying. It will probably be another moderate unless we get a really good pin code. (Yeah right. I've never gotten a code but a girl can dream.) We don't know if we'd really appreciate the theming of the Port Orleans resorts since we are from Louisiana. We think we might like the Coronado because the theming there appeals to us. If we got a good deal, we might go with one of the lower priced deluxes.

Anyway, we can't book until August so we have a little time to decide. I just had to share the new ticker with everybody.

I have stayed at both Port Orleans Resorts (and in both sections of Riverside) and the mansions in Riverside are really pretty. The Bayou is more rustic. I have some pics of POR and our room in my TR if you care to take a look. I think you would really like it. Looking forward to hearing more about your trip. I really should add an update to mine but not sure if I will have time tonight.

Great update Lisa!

I was upset when I heard they were discontinuing resort merchandise too. When we stayed there they had a clearance rack with just 4 XXX-Large CBR shirts and a couple mouse pads. That was it.

I had actually been looking forward to getting a CBR shirt to commemorate our first stay. I don't know why they would do that other than to cut costs.

I really think you guys would like POFQ or POR; the quaintness is wonderful! and it really is not anything like NO; it is a wonderful beautiful southern experience. I really think when we do go back "whenever" that my be that we will be staying at POFQ; unless by some miracle I decide to splurge on a deluxe stay.

Sounds like you and Dana had a great time chatting! I just love how friendly DIS members are! Everyone I've had gotten to meet has been awesome!

I loved CBR's shop and counter service area. I had a reuben sandwich there too. It was pretty yummy. I love how their adult breakfast platter is called the bounty platter.

I'm pretty sure that's where we'll be staying next year. I loved the Poly but I did miss CBR.

Welcome! I had a couple of different titles in mind but decided on this one because it truly reflected our normal quiet selves.

We really don't mind the drive even though it's over 800 miles (one way).

I started your last trip report last night and just kept reading. I had to take a break to go to work this morning but I was right back to it when I got home. I tried to read it at work but the network blocked the pictures...and I love all your pictures so I had to tough it our till I got home. My DH may feel a little neglected because I didn't spend too much time with him before he left for work tonight, but he did share a few of your pictures (Tom Sawyer Island) with me and few of your stories. Now I am all caught up and can't wait for more. I must confess I had to skip most of the PTR because I needed to do some Mom chores .

Howdy! Holy smokes! You had some reading to do. Tell your hubby that I said I'm sorry for taking you away from your wifely duties. The Disboards can be quit addictive. I didn't do such a good job on my pre-trip report. I was trying to finish up my Stop Making Me Laugh report and life kept getting in the way.
