Who is your favourite singer or band?

Barenaked Ladies.
I love all types of music, my tastes vary a lot but they are by far my favorite. DH is a big fan too but doesn't go to every show with me. I have turned my sister into a huge fan and it is our thing. Last summer we even took my DS8 to his first concert. He loved it. Just 1 more month until my sister and I go to show #23.

Probably the Eagles overall, but there's so many others I love. I'm really into a new folk duo called Bearcoon right now.

I think it really depends on your age. I'll be 54, so I would have to list many bands/artists. When I was 12, I would easily say Lynyrd Skynyrd. 40 years later, it would include most members of the Rock'n Roll Hall of Fame, plus many modern artists, including many outside of the Rock genre.

Crazy about different tastes. I don't know half of these artists and roll my eyes at others, and I'm sure people would to my musical tastes as well! But it's the same with all forms of "art." Look at the opinions on just food. I love that WDW is beloved by such a varied fan base.

Right now my favorites are Jason Isbell and Midland.

Paul McCartney and Willie Nelson. :)

ETA: I don't know most of those listed on this thread. lol

Which makes it all the more confusing you would be the person who on page one stated "the past 10-15 years of music are arguably the best ever". Me, I roll my eyes at that kind of talk coming from Kanye or the Beyhive when they spew about GOAT and that nonsense. Music is absolutely art, and speaks so much to the hearts and minds of those listening. It can pump you up to exercise or clean the house, calm your nerves, make you dance, make you cry, make you smile -- and lots in between. The world would be less interesting without it for sure.

I totally agree with what you are saying, and was what I was trying to say. Its great to see others opinions on all these incredibly subjective arguments! I'm completely entitled to think, as an example, that Real Estate's cover of The Cranberries' very excellent "Linger" is even better than the original, you can argue against. I think its super neat that WDW brings all types of people to the party, that's all.

I'll happily argue music with people all day though! And, while I adore Kanye, he is a genius, I don't think he's the reason that the last 10-15 years have been so exceptional. I think it comes from building on a rock/rap base that were in their infancy and taking them to a more mature place. I'm not denying that the Beatles, Dr. Dre, Nirvana, etc. aren't amazing seminal artists, but music now can learn and build from that.

It must be hard to argue about music if you haven't heard much of it. There are probably only 2 listed on this thread that I haven't heard of.
