Who is your favourite actor or actress and why

....while I think they are awesome actors, I'd pick DeNiro over Pacino any day - DeNiro evolves in his acting, whereas, Pacino seems like Pacino playing a character, and they are almost always similar, regardless of whether they are blind, or fearless, or brutal, or......JMHO

Kate Winslet hands down is my favorite actress. I see everything she does in the Theatre.

I also love Cate Blanchet.

Johnny Depp and Leonardo Dicaprio are two of my favorites actors. And Edward Norton.

I would agree with that. Pacino is definitely a "character" actor.

My favorite actor is Johnny Depp ever since I was in elementary school and saw him in Pirates of the Caribbean. From there on out as I grew older I watched his new and old movies and love them all.

My favorite actress is Helena Bonham Carter ever since Sweeney Todd.

My favourite actress is Kate Winslet. She is honestly one of the most talented actresses in hollywood right now, she's absolutely beautiful (and without being rake thin) she seems like such a genuine person, and very funny!!
I could gush about her for days so I'll try to stop now....

My favourite actor is Leo Dicaprio for sure. Not only is he beautiful to look at, he's amazing in all of his roles!!! Can't wait for Shutter Island.

And I can't lie, Titanic started my love for Kate & Leo way back in the day (as melodramatic as it may be, I think it's a fantastic movie. It's supposed to be a melodrama, so it does it's job hehe) But both of them have absolutely blossomed into two of the most talented actors!!

I also really like Ryan Gosling, not only is he Canadian...and gorgeous His role in Half Nelson was just.....amazing! Almost made my DBF cry and he never cries in movies!!!

That's hard to narrow down - there are a lot of good ones. My favorites are Gary Oldman - love him, and Daniel-Day Lewis. He can portray an elegant gentleman and a ruthless character and be totally convincing in either role.

I can't believe no one has mentioned Marlon Brando yet. To watch him in Streetcar Named Desire or On the Waterfront - he had an acting style far ahead of his generation. He's got to be my #1.

Actresses: Kate Winslet (loved her in finding neverland!!), anne hathaway, jennifer garner (13 going on 30 is one of my favs....) julia roberts, meryl streep (she's so good in everything she does, its always predictable but awesome! kwim?)

Actors: Chris Pine, John Krasinski, Leonardo Di Caprio, George Clooney, Will Ferrell..There is more, I just can't think of any! My brain is fried.

I have a few:

Morgan Freeman would be number one, has been since I saw Deep Impact where he played the President... his voice is perfect! It made me think, if I was in that situation, in the end, his voice would be calming. The next movie I saw him in was High Crimes and I loved his character there too... finally, I saw March of the Penguins and Morgan Freeman was forever solidified as my favorite.

Mary-Louise Parker. She's so weird but it really works for the characters she plays.

Alan Rickman. Gotta love the metatron




Then you have to throw in favorite actor/actresses based upon appearance (although I know use these inclusively):

Heath Ledger in A Knight's Tale... OMG! I was ridiculously jealous of Shannyn Sossoman.

Josh Harnett, who also starred in a movie with Shannyn Sossoman, lucky.........

Then I've always said, if I start playing for the other team my celebrity girl crushes are Tina Fey and Lucy Liu.

Johnny Depp, Daniel Day-Lewis, Anthony Hopkins can all be great in bad films, where a lot of actors tend to be bad in potentially great films.

Love Susan Sarandon and Jodie Foster for the same reason.

I would have to say my absolute fav would be Johnny Depp...

He is such a versatile actor...can range from strange (Edward Scissorhands), to hilarious (POTC)...to serious (Finding Neverland, Dillenger). He can do a wide range, pull off accents, etc. Doesn't hurt that he is quite easy on the eyes.

Robert Downey Jr... not only is he an amazingly versatile actor (I think he and Johnny Depp are in a league of their own as far as that is concered), but that VOICE. Oh my goodness. I would listen to him recite the phone book.
