Who is your favorite Princess and why?

Mine would have to be a new princess Penelope Von Schweetz I know she's not your typical Disney princess. But I love how they made that movie about video games and how her and ralph were almost the same in 2 different games one felt like the bad guy and one felt like a glitch and the way they were there for each other

When the little mermaid came out it inspired me to go to school for animation..I was hooked big time. I think now what appealed to me was escaping home life and going out on your own etc. and I thought prince Eric was handsome. (Am ot an animator, changed my mind to regular film after 2 years). But now I like belle, Merida and Mulan I think....now what princess would you like to look like? For me..belle is closer to me as far as hair etc. but I think I'd like to look like Merida!

My favorite princess is Belle because she is strong-willed, and she doesn't mind being herself. She also loves books. I love Ariel too though because she reminds me of my daughter who is spunky, curious, and adventurous.

Ariel for myself and my dd, we like all things aquatic and beachy. I also love Merida, great message and movie. Rapunzel is also up there.

No I have never heard of that! Is it like a comic book?

No, it's a series of books. I think there's 6 of them. I'm on book 2 right now. It's a young readers series. I'm 39 and my daughters 10 and we both love them. It keeps your interest plus you can picture each section of the book because they take place in the parks.

Cinderella. She stayed positive, strong, loving and faithful while being abused for years. She honored her father by staying with the evil woman he married after he passed away (she could have run away). She showed nothing but grace through it all. She gave respect while never receiving any in return.princess:

For sentimental reason my favorite is Aurora. My DS fell in love with her at first sight when he was 4. We spent the next couple of years at every Aurora meet & greet we could.

My actual favorite princess would be Mulan. She is a very strong character.

For sentimental reasons Cinderella. Back in the day there were only three Princesses. And Cinderella was mine. Whether it was the castle, the dress or the shoes or sheer grace and presence, I don't know. But she remains at the top of my list. I even had a Cinderella watch when I was little which I still have.

Belle is my other favorite. She has dark hair, she loves to read and she doesn't judge by appearances. And no one walks on her. :thumbsup2

Belle. She's not the blonde damsel in distress needing to be rescued by Prince Charming we see so often. She is strong, loyal, kind, fair, and she loves to read.

My next favorite is Cinderella. Though she is that damsel in distress that gets criticized so often, like the poster a few above me said, there are very good, positive qualities to her. It's also still one of my favorite Disney movies of all time.

My favorite princess is Snow White. My reason is different from everyone elses. My Mom had black hair when she was in high school and everyone called her Snow White. It was when the movie first came out. Anyway she ended up having 7 kids so that was kind of funny. We all fought over who was who and who was grumpy and dopey. My mom has been gone quite a few years now so it brings back some happy memories when I think of Snow White. It makes me remember her and smile......

And no I was not Dopey!

maybe grumpy but not Dopey!:goodvibes

Princess Jasmine, probably because she has attitude and wouldn't take any crap from me!

I love Mulan! She's independant, strong-willed and would do anything to protect her family. I also loved her story because it wasn't a Shang who saved her, they worked together (along with others) to save the day! Mulan really kicks butt!

Aurora, because in the Little Golden Book in my profile photo, on the first page they describe her birth and it said "And they named the princess Aurora, which means Dawn."

As a child I always thought my name was odd and as I grew up in a world of Kimberlys, Lisas and Jennifers, it WAS odd. I cannot tell you how many times in my life I have heard jokes about the crack of Dawn, Tony Orlando, Dawn Go Away You're No Good For Me and the Dawning of the Age of Aquarius ad nauseum.

But because I shared my name with Aurora, I began to think of it as beautiful.

Isn't that part of why little girls love the princesses? So they can see themselves as strong, bright, lovely, captivating, engaging, etc?

A sweet note about the Little Golden Book too. I treasured it as a child but of course years have passed and I no longer had it. Preparing for our first trip back to WDW in a number of years in Dec 2008 I created my acct here and my name and explained it's meaning to my DH. The morning we left for our trip, he gave me a slim package as an early holiday gift and inside was a vintage copy of my beloved book purchased off of ebay. Yeah, he's a keeper. :lovestruc

As a mom and a feminist, Merida and Mulan are my favorites. Following close behind are Tiana and Rapunzel.

When BatB first came out, I liked Belle because she was bookish and smart. But then I realized that the girl who snubs her neighbors as too provincial and dreams of "adventure in the great wide somewhere" just chucks it all and settles down to live in a castle with the first non-townie she meets. Bleh. At least Ariel never had any ambition beyond living on land, so her "I'll just marry the first guy who walks by" attitude makes a little sense. And don't even get me started on Little Miss "hey, a cottage! I should probably break in and clean it!"

I will admit, though, that I love Snow White's dress. And she's consistently been the most fun princess to meet at the parks.
