Who is the best for towncar service?

We've used Tiffany three times and FL Tours twice. Liked them both. They both ran in the $100 r/t area. You'll get different prices with different coupons. DIS board sponsers got a good rate with FL Tours also. FL Tours does not do credit cards. TT does, but only in person. We tip $15 upon arrival at our resort and then $10 going back to the airport.

Thanks for the info about rates, cc's, etc. I think we'll go with TT. I would've considered FL Tours, but I want to be able to use my cc. Based on everyone's comments on another thread, I think I'll request Berkeley or Jack. Thanks everyone!

We will be traveling from MCO to POR (myself and my DW). The price is $85 roundtrip but there is a $5 off coupon on their site making it $80. The price does vary by resort, depending on where the resort is on property. We usually tip $10 each way so our total will be $100. That includes a "free" grocery stop of 20 minutes. You will get varying opinions on the different towncar services. We chose MH this trip because they have had some very good reviews and they are pretty reasonable. Tiffany, Florida, Happy Limo, Cartier and others also get good reviews.

I used Murray Hill on my trip in Dec. Was just dd and myself but I decided since the trip was her surprise Christmas gift I would splurge on a town car. It was a big disapointment. I placed my order on their website and received a confirmation promptly. When we were heading for baggage claim dd spotted the driver holding the sign, I forgot her name but she was very, very nice. Once we retrieved the luggage she lead us outside and asked us to wait while she got the car. Well, car it was not, it was a van. Now if I wanted a van I would have saved some $ and used mears. I didn't complain to the driver as I am sure they do not choose their clients. Later in the day I called Murray Hill to register my complaint and make sure the same thing didn't happen on the way home. They said they would have a manager call me back, I gave them my cell #. Well we started our vacation and I didn't give it a second thought....and no one called back.

Departure day arrives. The car is 25 minutes late when I call to find out what is going on (I already know my flight is delayed by an hour, which is why I give them the benefit of being in traffic and waiting what I call a reasonable amount of time). The dispatcher has no idea where my car is, takes my cell # and says I'll call you right back. Ten minutes later he calls back, says my driver is stuck in traffic but they have someone else about ten minutes from me and will send them right over. Ten minutes later, a VAN pulls up, and yes, it's for me. Now I am really upset. I spent the extra $ on this to make it special, not to have a private van.

We get home and the next day is Christmas eve, so the holiday goes by and the following week I e-mail the company about how disapointed I was in the van, that it was not what I paid for, not to mention my return pick up being so late. The note was nicely worded, I was not rude or hot tempered. Guess what? They still haven't answered me.

Next time, I will use Tiffany.

*** UPDATE 1/20/05 ***

Just received an e-mail from Murray Hill with an apology and an offer of a partial refund.

We have used 4 different companies in the years we have been going. Our last 2 trips have been with FL Tours. Our future trips will be with FL Tours as well. Andy is the best! It is very comforting feeling secure with your transportation reservations and with FL we do.

Both times we took Tiffany I think we had Lincoln Towncars or something like that, both black, but not limos. DH had to sit upfront with driver and me and kids in back. It just seemed much quicker and easier than Mears had been. We had nice drivers both times and they were on time.

We have been using Tiffany Towncars for a number of years now. We have always been very happy with them. They are always on time & the drivers are great.

This trip will be our first time in one of their minivans since we have so many people going with us.

Just came back this week and tried Prestige for this trip. Prompt, professional, courteous.....we would use them again in a heartbeat. I liked that I could charge it to a credit card (although we tipped in cash) just in case there were any problems and that also meant less cash to carry. Rafael was great in handling our reservation and Douglas was our safe and friendly driver. Thanks again Prestige!

Another vote for Prestige. We just got back two nights ago and had a good experience with Prestige. They were the cheapest that we found ($80.00 round trip and that includes all WDW resorts including the Magic kingdom resorts). They were prompt, friendly, and professional. I asked that my GD's name be printed alone on the greeting card as a surprise for her and sure enough as we were coming down into the baggage pick up area, she spotted her name and became so excited. He walked us over to baggage pickup, helped us get our luggage, and wouldn't even let us help him load the baggage, and allowed my GD to sit in the front seat with him and gave her a handful of brochures. He was wonderful with her. He arrived early to pick us up and made sure we had our baggage checked in curbside handing the bags directly to the skycap himself. They supply a free 30 minute grocery stop too.

Our experience with FL Tours was not good.....they would not make our grocery stop because I was told my husbands flight was over 30 minutes late when it was less than 10 minutes late, they are not adept at scheduling their clients to provide the service they promise, and Andy has extremely poor customer service skills. Their sponsorship of this board is not enough for me to put up with poor services.

I highly recommend Tiffany..I will be going back to them next trip. Never had a problem with them and only tried FL Tours because of the sponsorship.

Has anyone used Quick Silver Tours? This is a company my husband found out about doing internet searches for reviews??

I used quicksilver back in August - great, would recommend - do a dis search you'll find alot of positive.

Thanks everyone. I booked with TT yesterday. I got an automated email response but no answers regarding my grocery stop and when I could pay with cc. I'll just call them a few weeks ahead of time. Thanks to all the great reviews, I feel secure in using them and also requested Berkeley (we need a van).

We used them last June - they were great! No problems, start to finish. Prompt replies to emails, waiting for us when we arrived, did the grocery stop, on time when returning to MCO. Will definitely use them again.

We used Tiffany Towncars and they were great! Just wish they had H2 stretch limo's. Wife seen them when we got to MCO and said she wanted those for our next trip!

Another vote for Tiffany Town Car. We've used them 2 times, plus we booked them for up coming trip next week. We got Jerry as our driver both times - nice guy.

When I booked this time, I did it through their web site & they did not respond to my question about grocery store stop either. I called yesterday to confirm everything & the woman confirmed that a 20-30 minutes grocery store stop is indeed still included.

We used Murray Hill last week. $85 round trip, but there is a $5 coupon on their website. We tipped $10 each way.

Our pick up at MCO was GREAT! Our booster seat was there for DS, store stop was good, we took pictures at the Main Gate, got to Pop with no problems at all. The driver was very nice, told jokes to DS, very kind.

Going back our driver was 5 min. late, which was NOT a big deal because our plane was actually going about 15 minutes later then the original time. We got back to the airport in PLENTY of time, I just get very stressed out so when it was our pick up time on the dot and our car wasn't there I started to get twitchy!

Overall our experience was great. I did forget to pay for the car service when we arrived at Pop. I went to check in and DH had to chase me down to go pay for the car. I tipped the driver, I just didn't pay for the service! I was a little embarrassed. Maybe in the future I will pre-pay!

Any other opinions of Quicksilver? I was planning to book with them for our April trip. I've been pleased so far. I e-mailed a question on a Sunday afternoon and got a phone call within 3 minutes with the answer - - how's that for quick service! Thanks for your input!

Golden Limo is the only one I use, and the only one who has never gotten a bad review or complaint on these board. Their prices are very competitive, give them a call.

Anne

luvsgrumpy....Quicksilver is outstanding! We used them last year and are using them again in 3 weeks! Go for it!
