Sandy didn't hit Orlando, it hit the northeast. Mostly NY/NJ.No that's not what I'm meaning. I'm not saying Disney has a policy for when people have hurricanes affecting their travel plans at home.
You said "Got bounced between 3 different Disney and DVC departments. Endies up paying cash. It just seemed so customer no service. I remember when Hurricane Sandy hit and it was a totally different story. Great customer service."
You were talking about needing to adjust your Disney trip due to the winter storm and were calling Disney and spoke about customer service. Disney has an official hurricane policy if a hurricane is set to impact their operations, but other weather they do not and they don't have policies for when weather is affecting outside of their own operations. So when Sandy hit you would have had a different experience with Disney. Just like when Irma hit and Matthew hit hurricane policies went into affect at Disney during those times.
They are predicting between 8 and 12 inches of snow in MA. I am soooo done with winter!
You are in MD, right? I'm in Montgomery County and am seeing 5-8" Saturday night, 8-12" Sunday and an inch of snow/ice Sunday night. We are starting to get some 'projected' totals out of the forecasters. Right now we are on the line of 8-12" & 12-18" so we will see. Honestly, I'm ready for some snow. I prefer not to get the ice - but no control over that if we do. I'll be waiting and watching to see how much is changes between now & Friday evening.
I had Covid for Thanksgiving so I missed it.
This is my do-over.You are in MD, right? I'm in Montgomery County and am seeing 5-8" Saturday night, 8-12" Sunday and an inch of snow/ice Sunday night.
I am so ready. I'm making a full turkey dinner to celebrate. I love snow and live in a snow hole so this is my second favorite time of the year (snowstorms). Thanksgiving is my first favorite, hence the turkey dinner.I had Covid for Thanksgiving so I missed it.
This is my do-over.
cause folks have lost their ever loving minds as if none of them will be leaving the house again. I am in MD as well!Yup, on the eastern shore in QA Cty. - go over the bridge and drive straight for about 30 minutes!
I'm not gonna lie - I'm ready as well! I totally love the turkey dinner idea! I should have taken the one out of the freezer I had....I just placed a instacart order with a hefty tip for delivery later today...my BIL manages a local grocery store and gave me the heads up they got deliveries today and to order nowcause folks have lost their ever loving minds as if none of them will be leaving the house again.
I have a Dr. appt. in Annapolis Monday afternoon that I'm fairly sure they'll cancel. I wonder how this will effect the first weekend of the Polar Bear Plunge?
Yes I know, more or less speaking about Disney treating hurricanes different than other stuff. Many people like to complain about customer service at the drop of the hat, it's the low hanging fruit.Sandy didn't hit Orlando, it hit the northeast. Mostly NY/NJ.
Yep, same here in DFW. Went Tuesday because our pantry and fridge were empty. There were people with 3-4 cases of water, 2-3 things of TP, 2-3 gallons of milk. Media drives panic buying like this. They're telling people to fill up their cars, yet they're telling people to stay off the road. Doesn't make any sense.People around here panic when there's more than an inch of snow predicted. With a storm like this, they lose their ever-loving minds! I was doing my regular grocery shopping on Tuesday and people were stocking up as if they would be snowed in for a month!
Are you in an area that is about to get extreme cold?I was surprised how packed the grocery store was this afternoon. It's still early, storm could shift, predictions here run from 5" to 10" possibly. I'm on standby in case grandson's preschool is closed on Monday.
That’s a waste of milk and bread lol
As well as the candles mentioned:They've pretty much taken all snow out of our forecast in DFW. Now it's sleet and ice. Praying for more sleet as it's less dangerous (although still dangerous). I'll be gathering our flashlights tonight (no candles as I'm allergic to fragrances). But I might go to the dollar store and get a couple just for this type of situation.

They forgot eggs and OJ.
Yes! And don't forget towels or any blankets or bedding you were going to wash in the next several days just do it now if you can.Do your laundry!!!
Trust me, if you lose power, you'll wish you had done it. I have a "Storm To-Do List" and laundry is at the top!
