I am! We spent most of the day cleaning the house since we are hosting about 20 people with a few staying overnight. Also moved my turkey, turkey breast and spiral ham to the Yeti Cooler to defrost in time. I also cleaned all my platters and actually partially set the tables since I know time will be crunched during the week. Tomorrow will be a final grocery run and some pumpkin bread baking. Then Tuesday and Wednesday will be a ton of cooking.

Excited to have everyone home and my daughters around to help peel, dice and chop on Wednesday.

Who else is getting ready?

It sounds like you are in the mood!!!

I don't get that excited about any holiday. My best memories are from childhood, never to be relived again. I've shopped for the food and it will be nice to have my small gathering of myself, husband, son, daughter and grandson and my sister. Neither my side or my husband's side of the family ever do invites to extended family for any Holiday with the only exception of Christmas eve and we will all go to one of my cousin's home.

It'll just be me for Thanksgiving. I am still making a meal but am making things my way. Having whole berry cranberry sauce instead of jelly. Skipping the dinner rolls. Having pecan pie instead of apple & pumpkin. I did do the shopping today. Nearly $40.

I will be spending the day watching all the Scream movies, that I wanted to do for Halloween but didn't get them from the library until last week.

I've got food purchased and table decoration bins at the ready. We are hosting 12.

But I'm exhausted. We had 3 of our 4 kids here this weekend and have done a lot of visiting.

And we are still getting unsolicited every plate boxes each Friday for the last 6 weeks and we cooked all weekend. But I'm sending 6 meals home with a son who can't be here for Thanksgiving to clear the fridge.

Work tomorrow and maybe 1/2 day Tuesday. Then I'll prep for Thursday. The menu is tried and true and comes together easily.

Me!!!!

This morning we did our traditional Sunday before Thanksgiving going out for breakfast and then doing the big grocery shop & stop at the liquor store.
My folks arrived from Florida this afternoon.
I took off Wednesday, I do every year - I've got a nail appt., followed by a stop at the farmers market to pick up my rolls & pumpkin roll. Then a stop at the grocery store for last minute fresh vegetables and anything I forgot today.
Cleaning ladies coming tomorrow morning.
Tomorrow evening we will probably put the tables up in the basement, start getting cleaned up down there.
Ribs & a bonfire w/ Gluhwein on Wednesday evening.
I put my turkeys in the fridge Saturday morning to start to defrost. Will brine on Tuesday -Wednesday night. Briefly discussed doing the mayo method but decided to go with butter instead.
Champagne is chilling, as is the wine.
This year, in addition to our two dogs we have a foster pup staying with us, and my son & DIL will be bringing our grand dog so it will be a bit of a you-know-what show with 4 dogs in the house, but we have a plan and I think it will work out.

Enjoy the doggies. The more the merrier.

We're bringing a green bean side that has become a favorite with especially my step-father-in-law. We got the bacon for it yesterday, we already had the dijon mustard and the minced garlic but the fresh green beans we need to wait to purchase. Probably Tuesday would be okay.

Last time we talked to mother-in-law on Thursday she said she was probably going to just order food from a place (we happened to be at Cracker Barrel for dinner and they have their version you can buy) but now we're not sure what she'll be doing. One sister-in-law will be attempting to make a pumpkin pie but has never made one before much less really truly cooks much but we all appreciate her effort in trying. The other sister-in-law isn't quite sure we'll she'll bring. I think the count is 7 adults 2 kids for mother-in-law's.

Walmart was pretty busy yesterday as was Costco Thursday night and it looked like a lot of people getting ready for Thanksgiving.

We did make our run to the liquor store to get beer yesterday as well.

I’m doing my best to get there - I’ve been sick all weekend. I did get the dining room table set - it always takes me awhile because I decorate it a lot.

I finished buying everything on Thursday, but of course I forgot a few things so I’ll go to the store on Tuesday.

I have to tidy up the bathrooms, but that’s about it. Our house stays pretty clean normally - it’s just my DH and I now. My DD20 did just come home on Friday, but she’s not messy.

We host every holiday, so my DH and I have mastered our routine so there’s no stress :thumbsup2

Nope. Just going to be my husband and I and I told him I wasn’t going to do a turkey and his mother’s homemade dressing that takes 2 days to make. Instead I’m making tator tot casserole with ground turkey which we have had several times, crescent rolls, cranberry jelly from the can, and I bought a chocolate cream pie for dessert. Finally a Thanksgiving where I’m not in the kitchen all day.

My family are theout of town guests this year so my contribution was ordering Callie's Biscuits and paying towards the bakery pies. My sis and mom will cook everything else.
We're also going to be spending Thanksgiving with extended family for the first time since 2004. They have the meal covered, but don't have any appetizers planned. I'm making a large charcuterie tray for my family's contribution.

We’re hosting 27. Did all my shopping today, except turkey. picking up fresh one we ordered from a local farm on Tuesday. We’re also leaving for Disney early Black Friday morning so simultaneously getting ready for that and thanksgiving. Already told everyone we can’t keep any leftovers because we won’t be here so they have to take them all home with them. Went out today and bought a bunch of disposable Tupperware and freezer bags fur that.

I am! This weekend, we cleaned the house and grocery shopped. We put the turkey on the fridge to defrost on Friday. We bought everything except for the fresh vegetables, which I’ll pick up during my lunch hour on Tuesday. I took Wednesday off work, so it’s cooking and baking day. I’ll start with the pumpkin pies and then move onto the cheesecake. While those are baking, I’ll make the sweet potato casserole and prep the stuffing and vegetables. I’m still trying to decide on an appetizer, but it may be cheese, crackers and deviled eggs.

We are having a small T.day this year but I am tired from moving and that sounds great. I thought about going out but decided on a turkey breast and a very basic menu. Our kids/grandkids will be coming and going over the weekend so we will see everyone and spend time with them. We want to see The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, watch the Macys parade, take a nature walk, play a few games and have a couple cocktails. It will be nice. I hope all the Diser's enjoy their holiday however they spend it!

Oh dear. I haven't even been to the supermarket yet to get the turkey or anything else. My aunt is going with me and she thinks Tuesday is plenty enough time to get everything we need. I'm stressing.

Thanksgiving is a 3 part meal - breakfast, lunch, dinner with dessert.

I've got the cinnamon rolls for breakfast.

I have the lunch tray - 4 cheeses (for everyone but me - brie, stilton with cranberries, colby, and goat), prosciutto, crostini/breadsticks/fancy crackers and Pillsbury turkey cookies (doing these vs pie crust triangles for my dip b/c they are easy and they were cheap). I have to still make my pumpkin dip (but I have my coco whip, butterscotch pudding, and pumpkin pie filling and vanilla, so it's just putting it together), and I'll be buying the fruit on Wednesday (apples, pears, and a 3rd - maybe grapes) so it's uber fresh.

I have my turkey defrosting in the fridge. I have my Stove Top and potatoes and cranberries and fried onions (and sweet potatoes for leftovers day). I'll be picking up herbs, green beans, mushrooms, and onions on Wednesday (plus an extra fruit for the cran sauce). I have the spouse's wine and the kids' bubbly juice.

I have everything for my pumpkin pie "ice cream" pie - graham cracker crusts, So Delicious Coconut Vanilla Ice "Cream" pints, pumpkin pie filling, coconut caramel, and coconut whipped cream, so that's ready to make Wednesday night (I'm making 2 b/c I have an extra person this year).

So, I'm prepping, but not fully prepped...and that's normal.
