Who is going to Hawaii with me

Ok...so I just need to know. Is anyone else as psyched about the Hawaii announcement today as me? Please post your results on the poll and let me know where you excitement level is. I cant stop thinking about it.

Not that big of a deal But DD will be finishing HS in 2011 (projected finish time) and what could be a better trip then to Hawaii and a DL trip all on DVC points if possible ( 7 month booking window).

DW loves the Beach so this would be great for her as well. Me I'm a Park person so I get bored easy sorta like out 4 day trip to Vero this year.

I have been dying to go to Hawaii for years now, but cannot tear myself away from Disney. This is the perfect excuse for me!!

Am very excited!! My kids have our Celebration trip to Hawaii planned...(we actually talked abt prior to the DVC announcement) DS graduates HS...DD graduates grade school and DD graduated Kindergarten..lol..Luckily I have time to save!!

I've said for a while that we are doing buying points but I think after staying in the Ko Olina area we would add on. I think we'd buy enough points to be able to go every 3 years.

If it's going to be one where you'll have to own to get in, we'll pass. We went to Hawaii for 2 weeks for our 25th wedding anniversary, and we both felt at least a little bit of "been there done that."

The best part of the two weeks was the Hawaiian cruise for 1 of those weeks, and if DCL did a cruise of the islands and maybe another destination in conjunction with the resort we would be more likely to go.

I voted that I'm just not that interested...I'm sure HI is beautiful, I've just never had a burning desire to go...Maybe I'd rather just go to the Poly in WDW ....The 13 hour plane ride is a deterrant, as is the cost of the flights

I'm happy for all the folks who want this. Enjoy. But if I were to fly all the way out to Hawaii, this isn't the location for me.

Why buy? I'll be at the Ko Olina resort this June at the JW Marriott for one week, then the Marriott Ko Olina Vacation club resort for another week. The DVC will be built between them. The next time I go to Hawaii it will probably be on another island.

DH and I used to go to Hawaii every other year when we were first married. Then DS came along and it was just too long of a trip. We haven't been there in 16 years. I don't think I would buy there but I'm definitely interested in using my points to stay there at some time. Hopefully other DVC members won't have a problem booking at 7 months out.

I've never been to Hawaii so this announcement doesn't excite me. I will try to visit, at least once, but I don't see myself adding on there.

I have visited Hawaii twice. I would like to go again and take the whole family, but I don't see it as an every year event. Of course, if we went and had an awesome time maybe we would have to buy some points.

This is great news for us West Coaster's . The flight to Hawaii is about the same as Florida for me and I would love the chance to divide my time between Hawaii and WDW. If I can swing it, I will definitely do an add on there.

It does interest me, but the plan is to buy @ CRV when it happens then an add on @ Hawaii to get the extended booking time. We can get direct flights dirt cheap from Houston, so we already go farily often.

I voted that I would go, but not purchase becaue I suspect the points and MF are going to be quite a bit higher than current properties. However, if I'm wrong, and the points and MF are in line with current resorts, I could see doing an add-on that would allow me to visit every other year.

We have been to Oahu, Maui, and Kauai...When we heard that Disney had chosen Oahu rather than one of the other islands, we were a little disappointed because we LOVED Maui and Kauai. BUT...when we saw the pictures of the site Disney had chosen, we were psyched! It looks gorgeous! We will definitely be interested in using our points to book some visits there (if possible!), but the cost of the airline tickets will deter us from buying there...

DH and I LOVE Hawaii! We've been 3 times together. We talked last night about buying a small number of points if 7 months out gets impossible to book. We are very excited!!

Currently, I have a search on for Maui through II. It will only cost 160 pts. for 7 days. I will wait till this trip before contemplating anymore Hawaii trips. Like the OP's, coming from the east coast, there are still other very big expenses that have to be considered as far as going on a regular basis.
