Linda: I've known people who are like your mom about the dr. Crazy!
It is crazy, like if the Dr. can't tell you what's wrong, then you don't have anything wrong:sad2: crazy for sure!!! I just have to keep on her!!
poor Emma..glad she knows noone is mad at her. poor thing.
Good luck Lyzzie!!

Alright, I confess, I bought a pin in December

I'm glad you got to spend some meaninful time with your family. I've been thinking about you guys.

Well, I think I'm coming down with something, my throat is all scratchy. Plus we had to call the police at 4:30AM about that dog again! Chris talked to our next door neighbor today and they said that it was waking them up nightly too and that it had put a huge hole in their fence! None of us know what to do about the situation though!

If you guys can spare a prayer I've got a story.
sounds like a GREAT pin! Sorry you forgot to go get them. I can definitely relate there! It really was great getting to see all the family! I am still kicking myself wishing we could have gotten to see you guys more while we were there. I think Mike had just had enough of all of it and wanted to rest in the room a LOT more! too much pain... I hope you start feeling better soon! Hope your lovely neighbors wake up and shut their dogs up. Or, the police, or someone will do something to resolve the issue. that is just ridiculous.

omg...your poor friend!! Lots of prayers and pixy dust! I have two aunts that were fostering and adopted them, they still have quite a bit of trouble w/them too. It has to be hard!

Evenin' kids!

I'm a little better tonight - but not after getting worse again first. But I took more (yes, MORE) Advil and a Sudafed this evening, and used some peppermint oil on my temples and the back of my neck. It feels SO good.

Linda - Oh, no - so sorry about your mom! Some people can be amazingly stubborn about going to the doctor (my dad), just keep on her about it to get herself checked out! Meanwhile, with all the stress in your life lately, take care of YOU!!!
Speaking of musical auditions, ours are this week and next. Vocal and reading this week, dance and callbacks next. Pixie dust and prayers appreciated!

Oh, and excellent news - - - I got my "deleted" photo book back! They were able to retrieve it! HOORAY!!

Boy, we sure do have a lot of "Dixie" in our little group!
glad you're starting to feel better:cool1: yes, my mom is BEYOND stubborn!!! I could kick her in the rear sometimes!!! You're right, I think I should stop by the spa for a massage soon. too bad 2x didn't live closer, I'd be buggin' her all the time:laughing: Lots of prayers and pixy dust for the musical auditions!! and best of all....YOU GOT YOUR BOOK BACK:yay: :woohoo:  :cheer2: that is the best news I've heard all day!!!:cloud9:

Linda...Tossing your cookies on the keyboard!
I know, he's so rotten:rotfl:

I wasn't done with my post!
Linda...I hope all is well with your mom. My dad is that same exact way. He refuses to go to the Dr for anything.

Lin...That's so sad for your co-worker. Even sadder for that poor little girl. I had boyfriend in high school whose parents fostered troubled kids. They even adopted 2 of them. I remember the stress they were always under. It takes a very strong person to take that on. My prayers and thoughts are with your co-worker and the little girl.

O.k. time for Greys! TTYL (as Britt would type) I'm just getting the hang of all that IM lingo.
don't ya hate when that happens!
thanks! Something in the family genes I guess.... all have heart problems..ok, we have a LOT of problems:rolleyes1 :rotfl2: Yes, it does take a very strong person to do fostering and adopting troubled kids.

IM lingo...that's fun trying to learn:laughing:

Linda- I'm sorry about your mom
thanks Nicole:hug: I was telling Mike last night that 1/2 of you guys are all up and moving to FL and he looks at me... for the 1000th time and says....WE'RE NOT:lmao: darn! I keep tryin though:rotfl:

Happy Friday morning, everyone!

Linda::I'm so sorry to hear about your mom. Sending pixie dust for good results on her stress test today
Well, better get breakfast posted.
I have a Pee-Wee parent meeting tonight at 6pm; which means I'll probably have to work concessions at the tournament either Saturday and/or Sunday. Nathan has an early 8am game in the morning. I'll supply the coffee cake if someone else will bring the coffee, juice and chocolate milk.
Thanks so much! I've tried calling, but no answer yet. thanks so much for breakfast! and the drinks as well DznyFan! good luck at your meeting tonight. Good luck Nathan:cheer2:

Linda...I sure hope all goes well with your mom's stress test. I hope it isn't anything serious. You've had a rough couple of weeks.
Hey Okie friends...I'm meeting a friend for lunch at Ted's today...she was very excited at the suggestion since she has not eaten there before. We will be looking at our Disney Pictures. She just got back from a land/sea trip! It was their first Disney trip and she's hooked. I need to get her on the boards!
Hope everyone has a great Friday!
thanks YM:hug: yeah, I'm ready for another trip:laughing: You'll definitely have to get your friend on here!!!! Have a great lunch! sounds like a blast!
Morning!!
Hey there pozey!
Good food and friends!

The SciFi was really yummy!

Cute Kid

Mikes favorite meals for the whole time we were there were SciFi and Coral Reef:woohoo: that day was a blast! Even w/the rude brat behind us:rolleyes:  definitely didn't ruin our time at all!
VERY cute kid:cloud9: both your boys are adorable!!! Kenny sure enjoyed playing w/them too!!! we have to do it again sometime!!:cloud9: that was just so awesome! I'm working on more ways to get better discounts too:rotfl2: as usual!

that's it...I keep hearing people saying they've received 40% pin codes in an email...I'll have to call and see if maybe we have one:rolleyes1 :rotfl2: I'm so glad you guys understand the obsession:rotfl:

I'm checking my email now for the code - I'm a sucker for good discounts! Although to be honest, after the upgrade we got last time I'm not expecting any good codes for a looooong time.
eta: Darn it, no email. :(

Urgent Care called me a little while ago, they found traces of bacteria in Emma's urine sample and aren't sure if she has a UTI or if the sample was contaminated. So they want her to be retested. My mom has a call in to the peds office, but they are a pain to deal with. Their new system requires that you talk to a nurse first to determine if you "really need" an appointment, but the nurse never answers and it goes straight to voicemail. Then they don't call back. I told my mom to just keep calling, and if she can't get through I guess we'll have to go back to UC. If she does have a UTI, she'll need yet another kind of antibiotic. Poor kid, it seems like viruses are just attacking every part of her. She is feeling a bit better today, so that's a good sign - but she's also showing some signs that could be a UTI. She keeps saying she has to go potty, but then says, "My peepee says it's not ready yet." Gah!

YM: Love the pics! The boys look like they're having so much fun at Sci-Fi. I love that place and I'm sad that we won't be doing any TS meals -- but I suppose we could always pop in for a milkshake and to soak up some ambiance, right? (Only 15 more days!)

Linda: I almost didn't recognize you with your new look -- I like it! Mike's still not ready to move to FL huh? Why does this not surprise me?

Hey Everyone!!!

YM, love the pictures.

Dznyfan, I so glad they were able to recover your book!

Linda, I hope your mom is ok.

Well, Mike may have an interview soon. I found a manager opening with a nursery (gardening). He has always wanted to do something like that (he loves gardening) so this would be perfect. He called today and the woman seemed very impressed with him. She is suppose to call him next week. So, please wish him luck. (We are still planning on moving, but would like for him to find a job here for a while. If he can't find anything though, we may move as soon as I have the baby).

Lyzziesmom, poor Emma! Have you tried cranberry juice? I have kidney issues and drink cranberry juice for it. It works for UTI's as well (for easing the pain and prevention).

hopefully you'll have a code! 40% would be awesome!! no luck for us:guilty: bummer!

good luck on the UC and Emma

yeah, I figured I needed a makeover. That pic of Kenny is almost a YEAR old:eek: hard to believe! I've been searching some cruises, just in case. It has been quite awhile since we've gotten to relax on the boat.:cloud9:

Good afternoon, guys!

I checked in this morning just long enough to deliver breakfast beverages.

YM - more great pics!! Very nice! How was Ted's?

Amber - fingers crossed for Mike's possible interview!! That's great news, I hope it pans out of you guys.

Lyzziesmom - oh, the poor girl! If it's not one thing, it's another. I think that "call in" thing at your ped's office is ridiculous! I mean, OK, I can kind of see their side - I'm sure they get lots of appointments every day for kids who really don't need to come in - but every appointment is still money for them. Are they ridiculously busy - are they trying to make it easier for kids that do need to get in to get in?? It'd be one thing if they had a nurse manning the phone, or at least returning calls in a timely fashion - if they're going to have that policy, they need to hold up their end. I think I'd be looking for a new pediatrician.

Linda - :wave2: ready for a cruise, are you?? How's your mom doing?

DznyFan: I honestly don't know what's up the pediatrician's office. They are a local branch of the big downtown university hospital, and the nurse line isn't even at the local branch, it's "centrally located" somewhere. They don't say where. This is a new thing and I hate it! That's why Emma ended up at urgent care the other day in the first place, because after 3 hours the nurse didn't call us back. This peds office does take a lot of Medicaid patients - including my kids although we DO pay a premium - so maybe they are trying to weed out people abusing the system? I have no idea but it is a horrible system and we are looking to change just because of this one issue. My mom did finally get a call back, after a couple hours, and is taking Emma over there right about now. They gave her attitude again about bringing her in. I'm going to find out if the urgent care facility has a regular peds office (I think they do) and see if we can switch to there. Also, I just got a notice from Medicaid that they are once again switching insurance carriers. They are keeping the one we have, but are adding Children's Mercy Healthcare, which is also the hospital we use for urgent care. I'm thinking their insurance might be a good fit for us too.

I just really hope Emma kicks all these viruses soon. I'm afraid she might have a problem with her immune system, since before this she's never really been sick except for the occasional sniffle. That could be just my hypochondriac side coming out though. It just seems so awful how it's one thing right on top of another. She's feeling better today - well enough to be crabby and spunky anyway!

Amber: Best wishes to Mike on landing the job interview! It sounds promising and who knows, he may end up loving it.

I've been thinking a lot about our upcoming trip and how it will be different from all our other trips. This will be my first time taking both girls and no other adult, so we will be trying to keep a slower pace. I've been talking it over with them, and we've decided to try to do things we normally skip in favor of more "exciting" attractions. We're going to try to see all the World Showcase movies, ride the Liberty Riverboat and spend more than 10 minutes on Tom Sawyer's Island. We'd like to try the Fantasia Gardens minigolf course - although I see they just raised the rates! I'm feeling a little less "magic" this time, maybe because we've been lucky enough to go so often in the past year and maybe because I know we'll be skipping a lot of favorites that Emma's too little for, and definitely because I know it'll be a lot of WORK for me! But I am getting excited thinking about new things to try, and old favorites to look forward to. Emma just wants to ride the Barnstormer, and this morning she remembered Winnie the Pooh. Lyzzie serenaded me with it's a small world this morning in the car.

Nicole: You must be getting SO excited!! Next week I will PM you with my phone number and our plans, such as they are, and see if we can meet up at some point. We're all looking forward to meeting you! I think you said you'll be visiting with your family for a few days? We're pretty flexible so any time that's good for you should be good for us, even if we can just meet for a quick lunch or something.

This morning Lyzzie couldn't find one slipper for today's pj party and she was freaking out. She even locked herself in the laundry room with the cats and interrogated them, since Roxy has been known to abduct slippers. The cats weren't talking though. I did ask Lyzzie yesterday if she had everything ready for today and she said yes, but she forgot about the slippers. I made up a song for her, but she didn't think it was nearly as funny as I did:
Wasting away again in elementary school
Looking for my lost red fuzzy slipper.
Some people say that there's a kitty to blaaaame
But I know...
It's my own darn fault.

I think you've definitely got the right idea for your trip. more laid back and a slower pace for sure. I think you'll all enjoy it more that way. :cloud9: that is the approach I took for our trip as well. I just wanted to really "stop and smell the roses!" just soak it all in!!! and one word...FASTPASS!:cheer2:

love the song:rotfl2:

Linda- Tell Mike that's not right, ya'll need to move on down to Florida too!

Amber- Good luck with Mike's job interview!

Lyzziesmom- I'm looking forward to meeting ya'll too! I'll PM you my number later on too.

Well, I'm off to go take a nap, I'm so tired. My manager asked if I was upset, nope just really tired! Later on tonight I'm going out to dinner with some friends from school.

don't I WISH!!!! I'm thinking even a vacation home would be really nice:cloud9:

sounds like you need some rest:hug: definitely grab a nap if you can so you can enjoy your dinner! sounds like a blast!

for some reason...I'm seriously craving The Melting Pot!!! thanks to you guys...you've got me hooked:rotfl:

Hope you get your nap before your dinner out, Nicole. My boss left this afternoon and my coworker went into the mailroom to take a nap! I've been wanting to go out to eat, I don't even care where. I've just been going a little stir crazy this week, only going to work and doctor's offices - and next week is more of the same! I've been good though and trying very hard not to spend extra money before the trip. I just can't thank Ashley enough for finding that SuperShuttle information for me, that was a huge help!!

Linda: The Melting Pot sounds so good right now. I've been craving sweets all week and their dessert would really hit the spot! Nothing like a big pot of melted chocolate to curb those PMS cravings is there?!

Hi everyone

I'm doing ok, trying to deal with all this stress. Everything is a mess because I've been packing and throwing stuff out. :headache: :headache: I've been getting my headaches again (after I was doing so well!), combined with the fact that I think I may have some sort of stomach flu and I haven't left the house (besides to walk the dog downstairs) since Monday......:scared1: I'm getting alittle stir crazy too. Atleast it's Friday, right?:confused3

Lyzziesmom, I am so sorry about Emma. :sad1: :sad1: She has had a rough few weeks, and you have too!! It will be nice to take it easy while you guys are at Disney.

Linda, have you heard anything about your Mom?

YM- Thanks for sharing the pics, I am getting homesick for Disney now and your pics help! Sci Fi is such a fun restaurant. The atmosphere is so cool!

Hi!

We just got back from grabbing a bit to eat. I had to go to a basketball parents meeting earlier; just to sign up to work concessions.

DznyFan:: Thanks for supplying the beverages for breakfast. You out did yourself!!

YourMajesty:: I hope you enjoyed your lunch!! Did you talk Disney?:cool2:
I enjoyed seeing your latest pictures. I felt like I was right there with you guys!!:cool1: :cool1:

Amber:: I wish Mike luck getting his job!!

lyzziesmom:: I know you and the girls will have a great trip!! I made a ADR at Sci-Fi in July just for our dessert/ice cream break. It worked out great, even though the waitress seemed a little miffed that we weren't ordering a meal. (We tipped the waitress accordingly.:teeth:)
Sending pixie dust for Emma to get well.:pixiedust:

Ashley:: I hope you get to feeling better.:goodvibes I know you're probably stressed about the move, but everything will work out and you'll be home in sunny Florida before you know it......and enjoying that heavenly balcony.:cloud9:

I had a little problem earlier. One of Nathan's friends from school is wanting to spend Sat. night with us. His mother called while I was at my meeting and tried to talk to Gary about it; of course he really didn't know what she was talking about. I tried to call her back and just got her voice mail, but didn't leave a message. Nathan and his friend both play basketball, but are on different teams that play at different times. I REALLY do not want to have to worry about getting both boys to their games on Sunday. Jeesh!! I know I probably sound horrible, but this just isn't a good weekend for a sleepover.:scared:

Sooooo.......what's everybody got planned this weekend?

Hey, Donna! I was wondering if anyone was around tonight. It sounds like the boys would be better off planning their sleepover for a different weekend!

No big plans for the weekend - the usual laundry and housecleaning, plus i've got a football party to go to on Sunday.

Donna: I don't think that sounds horrible, if it's not convenient for you then you don't have to host a sleepover. I don't like having kids sleep over, but Lyzzie's friend wants her to sleep there all the time. I make up for it in other ways, by taking them places her mom hates to go - like Worlds of Fun and Chuck E. Cheese. Her mother would rather cut off her arm than do that kind of stuff, and I feel the same about having kids run amok in my house!

When just Lyzzie and I went to WDW, we made a same-day ADR at 50s PTC on an EMH night just for dessert. It was great! Our waitress seemed miffed too, even though when we walked in we said we just wanted dessert, and we said it again when we were seated. She didn't do ANY of the antics, after I'd hyped the place up for Lyzzie it was disappointing. Especially because she was hamming it up at another one of her tables. I tipped accordingly which probably ticked her off even more, but that's what she earned! I figure we'll go to SciFi if we feel like it and there's an opening - I just can't plan an ice cream break.

Emma is feeling SO MUCH better! She requested her favorite Chinese restaurant and even though I told myself no more eating out until WDW, we went anyway. She ate quite a lot and was pretty crabby when I told her we were leaving -- "But I want to eat ALL my food, but I'm too full!" And while we were watching tv (What Not To Wear had a DISer on tonight!) I clipped Emma's nails, then she played a fun game of "which hand" with me with the clipper. I hid it and then pulled it out from behind her ear and she could NOT figure that one out - she was just being so adorable! It's so nice to see her getting back to her spunky little self.

Evening, Lyzziesmom. It's so good to hear that Emma is feeling better. I didn't watch that What Not To Wear, but I want to see it. I like that show - sometimes I feel like I need to be on it!
