My mom said the cruise they wanted is booked up for that week, but she said it's not a problem, they'll just find a different cruise. They are so funny, they don't care where they go, they just like cruising. I don't care where I go on vacation either, as long as it's Disney!

We're going Jan 26 - Feb 1st at AllStar Music. I really wanted Movies, but they only had preferred rooms available and I don't want to pay the extra. It was a tough choice between Music and Pop, but we've only stayed at Music once and it's been refurbed since then, and we've stayed at Pop 3 times so, Music it is! I'm so excited!!

So that takes care of the rest of Xmas shopping for the girls. And I know what I'm getting -- Mom told me to be sure to print out the receipt so she can wrap it & put it under the tree.

that is too cool!!! Congrats Lyzziesmom!!! I KNOW you're so excited! You'll have a blast no matter what!

YEAH... we're obviously not normal sane people well... we are, we just have WDW and or DCL fanatics... we've all got our "thing"

Ashley - man, I didn't need to watch that. I don't like hotels, anyway. I mean, I'll stay in them - you don't really have much of a choice - and I don't have a problem with Disney hotels, maybe I'm kidding myself about them, though. But regular hotels? YUUUUUCK. You don't know what's on the floor, or the comforters, or the pillows. Am I some kind of clean freak? hahaha!!! not by any stretch of the imagination. But I know what's on MY floors, and who's drool is on MY pillow.

Lesa had mentioned another CM store that offers 75% off discontinued, damaged and clearance items - I do know that it is still around - our friend in Orlando had mentioned it to me the other day when he offered to do some Christmas shopping for me.

I'll ask Erin about her friend who just got back from doing the college program - I don't know if he took his own car or not. I do know they offer shuttles to the grocery store and other places, but I'll see what he did.

Driving or flying? For us, we've ALWAYS flown. Of course, for years, we never paid more than $225 each ticket (which I know for some of you, is high for plane tix). We've got a 20 - 24 hour drive to get there from here, and we've never been able to deal with the thought of sacrificing 4 days of Disney time to driving. Not when we can leave here at 6 in the morning, and be there by 12:30 in the afternoon. Plus, I can't even begin to imagine having to drive back home after a week there. I really wouldn't leave there if I had to drive home, I think. Of course, with the high oil prices, it's getting harder and harder to find decently priced flights - we have to be more creative and flexible with our schedule in order to get reasonable flights. Right now, looking at our May trip, they're sitting at a minimum of $360.00.

I love to fly...but I like having a car too... I didn't think $356 for all 3 to fly and $120 for a rental car was bad at ALL...but.. Mike would rather drive...so...we're driving. I guess I shouldn't complain, at least we're going!

Lyzziesmom- I am SO mad!!! I can't believe that the warden or whatever he's called shredded Earl's get out of jail papers!!!! I honestly am not really impressed with this season, to me the show was much better when he was out of jail.

Dznyfan- Any info and tips your CM friends can give me would be great! I'll have to check out that 75% off store.

And of course you all know that if you want anything while I'm down there just let me know and I'll be more than happy to mail it to you!

Linda:: Good luck with your decision on driving vs. flying. We had always driven until '06 when I found a great rate on SW; now I think we are spoiled. I must mention however to keep in mind that most airlines have a 50lb limit on their luggage. One poor family was having to re-pack everything at the airport before they could check in for their return flight.

Nathan had a ballgame last night and I got to work the concession stand. Actually, there were plenty of volunteers, so we split the 1st and 2nd halves.
Nathan's team lost, but it was a close game for a while.

I think I'm in a Wilderness Lodge mood this morning. Wanna' join me at Whispering Canyons for a knee slappin' good time?

I have an update about Maddie. Her teacher sent me home some paper work that she turned in about Maddie stating her concerns. On it asked if Maddie was ever retained (held back) and she put no. Well I didn't really think about it before, but I don't think her records were ever really looked at from her school before we moved here. She did basically 2 years of kindergarten. She did sort of a preK because of some developmental delays and also her birthday is right at the cut off. So she had just turned 5, and technically that would put her in the 4th grade right now. Further behind with her language and speech skills that they had originally thought. Soooo, they have now sped up the meeting and it will be next week! Keep your fingers crossed as it's a step closer to where we want to be!!!

Sorry I didn't get to reply to you last night- I was going to say that if you could postpone and go in late Feb/March (or something like that, I'm not 100% on the date yet), I have a couple 1 day tickets I could give to you and that would've made up for the AP expiring and we could go together.... I'm glad you have everything worked out!! And you will have a wonderful trip

Linda: Yes SW does suddenly have great rates, but it depends on the dates. That's why it was so hard for me to find a time to go in Jan... it was anywhere from $59 each way to almost $300, depending on the day! That's a huge difference! I will never understand how airline pricing works. I think driving will work out good for you since you're having Xmas there and will probably buy a lot of stuff!

Ashley: Oh that's too bad that we can't go to WDW together. I'm glad I get to squeeze in one more trip on my AP though!

I know and this afternoon I was changing my mind and REALLY wanting to fly then at 4:57.... THREE minutes til quitting time, my boss emails me and says "can you go to miami next week?" uhhh yeah probably..but the week after would be MUCH better since we'd be heading to Orlando for vacation anyway! it would be too awesome for them to pay my flight/rental car and a few days hotel!!! we'll see how it goes! That would be GREAT! I'd just fly down like the 13th, drive down to Miami from Orlando.... get my work done and enjoy some extra time down in FL! I've got my fingers crossed for that too!
