April, Congrats on the weight loss!!!!!!!! :cheer2: :cheer2:

Tinkerbell_Girl, I couldn't believe some of the comments on that thread. Some people were so mean.

I am also trying to read TGM. I am an over obsessive planner and even though I have several months, I don't feel like I have enough time to plan. Sad thing is, I've been planning since LAST April.

Hang on for the low...... after you have researched and researched and planned and planned and organized and organized.......and checked and rechecked, you got to enjoy your vacation with your new all knwing Disney knowledge and expertise. THEN ITS OVER!! :sad2:

Its like post partum depression..... Also known as ....... Post Disney Depression. Your world was so consumed and taken up by Disney planning, that now you have nothing to do!!? Except plan another trip to the World!! or a Cruise!! :wizard:

My folks are coming with us on our upcoming trip, and they are not planners at all... they asked me to do all the planning. This morning, my Dad asked me if there was anything I need help with to get ready, and I said (sadly) NO.... the planning is DONE. I have absolutely NOTHING left to plan! It must be almost time to go!!

I am already planning another trip for next April. DH and I already have our restaurants planned. We are hoping to go twice a year. if we get to go that often I think I'll be OK.

For this trip, I pretty much know what will be doing everyday. I have my touring plans laminated. Yes, I am THE MOST obsessive planner ever!!!

Oh yeah, boy do we know it well. Oh! and welcome!

I've never had creme brulee. What is it like? I want to try it on our next trip.

I also want to know what Creme Brulee tastes like. Is it like custard?
Oh, you girls don't know what you're missing. :cloud9:  You've gotta try it!
April - CONGRATS on the loss!! :cheer2: (I think I found it...) Keep up the good work!

So whats everybody's big plans for the weekend?? No more tequilafests for Lyzziesmom, I hope!
We're gathering at a friend's house with some close friends and our DD tonight for DH's Birthday :cake: !! Filets and sushi! I didn't bake him a cake though.... bought a Red Velvet cake at the store. Bad me! I've been ambitious enough in the kitchen this week... it's time for a night off. Gonna have a couple rum-n-fruitys and a few rounds of girls kickin' guys butts at Taboo and Balderdash....

Congratulations April! :cool1:

Grendalynn- I have suffered from PDD before! But I just have to plan another trip and then I'm fine!

Now I need to find some Creme Brulee.

DznyFan...sounds like you've got a fun weekend planned! :bday: :cake: :bday: to your dh :)!!! I didn't bake my dh a cake either :rolleyes1 bought one at Kroger... Hey...I'm gone 12 hrs a day...I just didnt' have time. But Kenny and I did decorate it :) I knew Kenny would enjoy that. Mike keeps asking me what I want to do... I want to grill out.. filet sometime for sure!!! Probably go for a ride on the Harley since Kenny is w/his dad.. My stepson is moving out :woohoo: so we'll probably help him move... He's getting married the 19th :cool1: Not sure what else we'll get into.

Nicole ... you DO have to get some creme brulee!!! Back to work for me... I've got 40 timesheets to do still :rolleyes1

/
Ooooooo, DznyFan, that sounds like fun! Save a piece of that cake for me! I also think I have found April's extra pounds. BTW, congrats April!!

I don't have much planned for the weekend, Mom's coming over to help with the packing tomorrow while Dad's off giving plasma at the blood bank, and then... dunno. If the weather stays nice, maybe take the kids to the zoo? We've only gone once this year and it was so unbearably hot (get it, unBEARably?) we mostly watched a couple shows, browsed the gift shops, ate overpriced ice cream - gotta love those Dippin Dots! - and went home. Oh yeah, and Radio Disney was at the zoo and we won a DVD of Lady & the Tramp, that was cool. Of course Lyzzie won it, she's got great luck whereas the only thing I ever won was a "genuine diamelle!" That's right folks, a real, genuine, fake plastic diamond. Not even in a setting, just a sharp little clear plastic rock. Yippee.

I shlepped over to Goodwill at lunchtime today to buy some vacation clothes - I have like 2 tshirts and they both got spilled on - and picked up a cute Tinkerbell shirt for $1.98. Yay me! I also got this great little tshirt that says "Do not disturb: Mom on vacation". Too funny. I love the Goodwill store by my work... Most of the stuff they get there is still new with tags on. Target gives them all their stuff that doesn't sell, so whenever I see something I really like at Target but just don't want to part with my money for it, I think to myself, I'll just wait until it gets to Goodwill! Yeah ok, I'm cheap... but I kinda need to be.

I have no idea what any of that has to do with anything but who cares?! It's Friday and I get off work in 3 hours!!

Oh and for the record - I don't ever drink tequila. There's a reason it's called To-kill-ya!

you'll have to take Lyzzie to Vegas w/you :)!!!! Good luck charm :thumbsup2 Goodwill store huh? I've always donated tons of stuff there...but never been inside... maybe I'll have to go look sometime. There is one by my work..but never crossed my mind.

if anyone likes Outback...they have a great new drink..has strawberry and kiwi or something... I remember it tastes really good!!!

:woohoo: my boss just told me that he called and they're sending me a laptop next week... one step closer to working from home!!! He's going to talk to the big boss about it!!! Taking on all this work is working to my benefit after all! :cool1: That would be soooooo great!!!

Wow Linda, that's great! I would so love to be able to work from home.

I don't think I have any plans yet for the weekend.

Both boys have swim team practice tonight.

I will probably have to mow the lawn sometime this weekend. I don't know why though.....it hasn't rained here in WEEKS and it has been close to or over 100 degrees for the same time period. But I probably will need to mow. And I have a BIG yard to mow. It takes me 2 hours with a big John Deere riding mower.

That's great news Linda!

I'm not sure what I'm doing for the weekend. I might go see that new Will Ferrel (sp?) movie. I actually want to see it! This weekend is tax-free weekend here in Texas. I will not go shopping. I will not go shopping. I will not go shopping!!!

YEAH!! Blake is home. :cool1:

He brought back all kinds of goodies too. The kids were thrilled with their stuff. Now most of it is knockoffs and I know we shouldn't buy it but...Matt got a pair of Oakley sunglasses and a Rolex watch, Bree and I got Coach purses and Nick got a beautiful GO board. It is some sort of ancient Oriental board game. It is in a stunning carved wood box. I got Jade jewelry. We all made out, but the best thing is that he is home!!

We just spent the afternoon at a hockey sale. Blake still plays hockey every Sunday night and this best hockey store has a once a year sale that is unbelievable. His birthday is the day we go to Disney so this was for his birthday gifts. I don't know if anyone here has a hockey player but their equipment is crazy expensive. He got a new rolling bag, shin pads, blades and skates and we spent just over $200. My sister, yes the one I was just visiting  , is driving in from Illinois this weekend to go to this sale for her son. Most of the people on his team will be coming for this sale. It is that good. DH was hoping he wasn't going to miss it.

Linda...good luck with working from home. That would be so good. I would love to do that but since I work in a Middle School that probably wouldn't work. I don't want those kids in my house :lmao:

Lyzziesmom...great buys at Goodwill. I always say I am going to go there. There is a very nice one near here, but I haven't made it yet. Tell Lyzzie good job winning the DVD. Don't you love having lucky kids? Sometimes they will even share ;)

April...So proud of you with the weight loss :cheer2: I usually loose weight in WDW with the heat and all of the walking. This year with the dining plan I don't think that is going to happen.

Oh and if I do get Alex as server I will politely ask to me moved to another section. Just tell them that you have heard very unfavorable things about his serving ability and you would rather wait for another section. As long as you are polite about it, it shouldn't be a problem.

Our plans for the weekend include some things I don't want to talk about  :rotfl2: THEN I will have Blake help me finish the bathroom. I was told DO NOT attempt to hang the new cabinet and mirror so now I want them up. Sunday his company is taking everyone to the Tigers game. I'm going for the Dippin Dots. I love those things :thumbsup2

I've never used TGM. Is it worth it and do you think I have enough time before our trip? We leave on the 16th.

Hello everyone--

Before I forget--LYZZIESMOM--first of all, congrats on your moving day!! What did you say?? Sept. 13 and you are getting back from WDW on the 10th?? You'd better get crackin', chickliosa. Second of all, I was at Target after work today to pick up a few things (including #2 and #3 :sunny: ) and I started thinking about your pink bathroom. I don't know if you have come to any conclusions yet, but Shabby Chic has a celedon green shower curtain with pink flowers. I love celedon and pink together--so girlie. Anyway, if you would paint the top portion of the walls above the tiling a soft white--not stark white, not eggshell, but something in between, this would break it up a bit. Then the shower curtain and maybe a little accent rug would tie it all together. I know they runs sales on Rachel's stuff every so often, too. I forgot, what does the floor look like?? Anyway, just thinking. :confused3

I am off to read today's posts. You can stay, or you can go, because as you probably noticed, I found out last night that I am a pretty good lone conversationalist. But then YM felt sorry for me , I suppose, and decided she'd better save me. :teeth:

I didn't want the Pin-cess to cry...it's just not right. :sad1:

Yea for Michele!!!! So glad Blake is home and what fabu gifts to boot!! :thumbsup2 I liked TourGuideMike :ssst: (that's my shhh smilie). I don't always tell others that I do though, because if everybody knows the "secrets" then what are you accomplishing but following the crowds around. There is a lotof information on his website and I'd say it takes a bit to get acclamated (sp?) to it. Personally, I don't know that you'd get your money's worth leaving so soon. By that I mean, he doesn't give you detailed to your trip, step by step personal itineraries. He gives you advice and reasons behind his advice (which is where much of the time comes in and why it takes a bit to get acclamated to the site) and then you put together your own itinerary following his advice so that's what I mean by money's worth. It took me a week if not more just to figure out how to maneuver around his website and then it took me a few months just to read all of the advice. But, that's just my opinion. Others who have tried TGM might have a different opinion.
Oh and if I do get Alex as server I will politely ask to me moved to another section. Just tell them that you have heard very unfavorable things about his serving ability and you would rather wait for another section. As long as you are polite about it, it shouldn't be a problem.
Good advice. I just hate to think of not getting to go back there but I'm really done with giving Alex yet another try. I just wonder how he's made it? I guess it's because he has an ok personality, and you could like him if you didn't need to depend on him. I mean, he never was "rude" except for the time he messed us all up with the bill and cards but that was mainly because he thought he was right and we weren't "getting it" but even then he suggested not rudely that we could talk to the manager if we thought there was a problem. In any event I think this is good advice.

Whoa, pozey that must be alot of yard. That's what DH dream of having one day down South. Of course, we'll probably start off renting rather than just jumping into something. I saw how bad that can be from my aunt. She went down for a week of vacation in Florida and bought a house "thinking" it was in a nice area but not knowing. I mean, how can you know just visiting a house a few times? Sure it can look great and the neighborhood can seem great but how can you really know unless you're familiar with an area? Many times my uncle has said how he wished they had rented and took their time instead of just buying in one week's time.

Linda, working from home is great!! I used to do it and I loved the being at home part I just hated the job. I was looking for ways to supplement our income so I started taking infomercial calls (for products that you see on t.v.). The money was great and being home in my jammies was great but the calls were horrible!!!!! :crazy2: When I finally decided I was DONE it was a great day! People think they're calling in for just what they see on t.v. Ronco knives or whatever. Little do they know we're going to offer them every upsell in the book!! And if by the time I haven't completely pushed you over the edge with pushing every product that Ronco sells then I have to offer you these things called Affinity offers which have absolutely NOTHING to do with the product you called to order and are --A free $50 WalMart gift card just for trying At Home Essentials for 30 days. If you're not satisfied with at home. . . Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. But the kicker was we could mess up the wording on the original offer but we had to read WORD for WORD the Affinity offers. We couldn't miss a the, a then, a that. Nothing! And people would get so mad at me. They would yell at me that they didn't want to hear one more thing. And didn't I understand that they said they didn't want to hear one more thing. And I really felt for them :guilty: , really I did. I hated having to push it on them but unless they said two things specifically either "I will hang up if you read one more thing" or "I will cancel my order if you read one more thing" I had to keep going or else lose my job. I didn't "need" the job but there were single moms out there who did and those were the ones I felt really bad for. So, here's a tip when you call to order something and you've placed your order and then they go into the "Upsells" just politely say to the person answering the phone "that's all I wanted and I'll cancel my order if you continue to read the upsells". For the company I worked for that's all we had to hear. The caller didn't even have to be irate, as long as they said those magical words I'm going to hang up that's all we needed to here. I don't know about other companies. Sorry, I digressed. Working from home, though, is terrific!

Oh, have I suffered from this a time or two. :sad2: It's horrible. And it's REAL. Heck, I'm depressed right now that I got such a great DING from Southwest today but I couldn't take advantage of it with trying to get this house on the market. Talk about depressing and my DVC points are just patiently waiting for me.

Yyyuuummm, Red Velvet Cake is my absolute FAVORITE cake in the world!! Please please ave me a piece. Oh and :bday:to DznyFan's DH!! Sounds like such a fun evening!! Our plans for the weekend? We're going to the Peach Festival w/ my Dsis and BIL tomorrow and tomorrow night we're having a carpet installer come out and give us an estimate. Sunday we'll go to early Mass and then work, work, work some more on the landscaping and then Sunday night our realtor and another carpet layer are coming over for more estimates and on Monday (I know it's not the weekend but I'm on a roll) a painter is coming out to give us estimates. Busy, busy, busy.

Hey Nicole. . .whatever happened to those pictures that you were trying to see if you could recover? Just wondering. Hey, I live in the state of Tax-Free shopping. That's about the only good thing about Delaware. Thanks for the congrats!! :goodvibes

Thanks, Amber, for the congrats! :goodvibes

Come on 2X2S!! Get to postin'!

Well, once again today brought out the chattiness in our non-cliquer claquers.

I was working, unlike some people pretending to play the part. :teeth:

April--Sounds like Alex has lots of bad days. Wow, what a coincidence. I think I would head for the hills the next time if his name is mentioned.

DznyFan--Ahhh, merci!!!!!! Tres bien, tres bien!!!!! :artist:
And, holey moley--I'm suprised you didn't get knocked on your booty taking that photo. My patience would run very thin!!
And your other pics you posted--OMG!!!! Biggest laugh I had today!! I don't know which one was funnier. I was a cabbage patch junkie when I was growing up, so I can totally relate to the last one.

Linda--and thank you to you too. I just ate and for some unknown reason I am hungry again. I have no idea why. :confused3
Your crowd levels look so much more manageable.!!

MImom--YEAH for Blake being home!!!!! Sounds like you scored with the souvies!! Have fun--we don't want details.
Cute DS story!!!! :lmao: :lmao:

Pozey--steak and potatoes kind of guy, are we?? and cheesecake?? :smooth:
I bet the server on your cruise wasn't named Alex. :teeth:
Don't fret, my JD twinfriend--maybe next time you'll have a female server who has the hots for you.

Lyzziesmom--AWW--what a cute picture of Lyzzie--the shades are rockin'.
And how dare that lady take your park away from you. Can't she see you rented it out for the day??

Grendalynn--welcome to one nutty group!! Am I reading your ticker correctly?? Are you expecting?? OH wait--I see it in your sig.--baby boy #3--CONGRATS!!!!! How are you feeling??

Amber--let us know how you like TGM. I have toyed with the idea but as a matter of fact, kind of forgot about it until you just mentioned it.

April--I literally said "YAY" out loud when I read this. Way to go girl!!!!!!!!!!! Keep it up no matter how frustrated you get.
Oh, and I don't mind atall if you shorten my name to 2x2s--simple, easy to remember---trivia--anyone know what movie this line is from?? hint hint--has my boy in it. No, not you Pozey. pirate:

Nicole--you will go shopping. NOT

that's it--I just can't keep up with you all.
HI--YM, Donna, Ashley, Dolphingirl ??
I'm missing someone, I just know it. Well, hello missing someone. :wave2:

Creme Brulee--hmmm, what should I say about creme brulee?? (Poet, I mean Pirate)
I was a creme brulee FANATIC --even before it was the "IT" dessert. I purchased a torch before they were cheap. I purchased ramekins before anyone knew how to pronounce ramekins. I ordered it wherever I could find it--which back then was not many places. I made it constantly and mastered the torch-- :3dglasses --safety glasses and all--well, I'm stretching this one. Anyway, long story short--is this possible, you ask??--last fall I decided to make a nice dinner for my family. It included, yes, you guessed it--JELLO. the end.

Naw, tricked ya--okay--onward--I made CREME BRULEE. We ate. We chatted. We laughed. We joked. We laughed at jokes. Well, within a half hour, I was as sick as a puppy. It lasted for HOURS on end. I, however, was the only one that was sick so I chalked it up to a tummy bug. No, I did not poison ANYONE, if that's what you're thinking. Anyway, now sadly enough I am not a big fan of my beloved dessert anymore. :guilty: In fact, at Chefs de France last December, I got the "lunch special" and it included creme brulee. I did not ask if I could substitute--just took the chance that maybe I was over my fear of it. I took one bite and just couldn't do it. :sad2: Haven't torched, I mean, touched it since.
Maybe one day I will once again try it--as I loved it so. DznyFan--your chocolate one looks pretty darn good, though. Maybe, some day.

I will let everyone know how well TGM works after my trip.

So far: he has a LOT of great info and it does take awhile to go through it all. (I have been a member since last Sept). He does have an express planner for people that don't have a lot of time before the trip. He also has a money back guarantee, so it figured it couldn't hurt to try it out.

Yes, TGM is worth it. IF you have lots of time to use it. If you leave on August 16th.....that's not much time to go through TGM. I've used it twice.

Absolutely. I grew up on a ranch. We raised cattle. We had a steer butchered and meat in the freezer at all times. The cheesecake expertise came later in life.... :rolleyes1
