Pozey... my DD7 lost a tooth yesterday. The thing was ready to go a week ago, it's been bleeding since Sunday, but she wouldn't let anyone touch it. She is terrified of swallowing it by mistake! Then she woke up yesterday and kind of blew out a big breath, and the tooth shot forward, but didn't quite let go. A minute later from the bathroom I heard, "MOMMMYYYYY!!!" and there she was, all gappy grins. Her new thing is collecting state quarters, so the tooth fairy brought her a few.

Last time the tooth fairy almost forgot to come! In the morning Lyzzie checked her special tooth pillow (before I woke up) and was sad to see it empty. Then I handed it to her and told her to check again, and there was a dollar in it, just like magic! She is still in awe over that one. She says, "That tooth fairy sure is sneaky!"

Dolphinrescuegirl: congrats on the job! That's always such a nerve-wracking time. I'm sure you'll feel right at home by the end of the week.

Donna: 3 more days??!? And here I was, getting excited about 5 weeks to go! Be sure to have fun for us, we will miss the beverages in the morning!

Love the SpongeBob! I used to have quite an impressive Lego collection when I was 18, worked at WalMart, and had nothing better to spend my $$$ on. *sigh* Now Lyzzie has discovered the Legos and is itching to go the Lego store in DTD. Knowing her, we'll be there all day!

DznyFan: I cracked a tooth the other day too. Not badly, but a little chip came out while I was flossing, of all things! I knew I don't like flossing for a reason. Last year I cracked a molar while eating CheezIts... darn thing had to be pulled. They had to put me totally out for it, because I don't numb up well. Anesthesia just doesn't work quite right on me, it's really scary. Glad to know yours is doing ok, and yes, keep calling for cancellations!!

Nicole: good call on skipping the party in Mexico! Nothing like being stuck in a foreign country with a bunch of strangers who you can't understand. Ick.

I hope I haven't forgotten anyone! I didn't post last night and now there's so much to catch up on, I'm a little overwhelmed! I've been battling a nasty cold (see my other post about how much snot the human head can possibly hold) and just trying to make it through the day. At least that explaines my migraine the other day. Now it's turned to a sinus headache - no less annoying, but not as severe. Seriously contemplating going home early today. I think I have enough sick time on the books for at least 1/2 day. But then I'd be afraid that I'll feel even worse tomorrow!

Got our ME tags yesterday... for my parents. Not for me. Oh well, I enjoy checking the mail when I am expecting something to come... especially something DISNEY!

Good wishes to all and to all a good day!

Hi everyone. :wave2:

I've been busy watching Court TV and the trial of Andrea Yates. Depressing but interesting. Wow, they just convicted her of not guilty by reason of insanity..Wasn't expecting that...

Last night I was sad and missing my mom because she had a jewerly party and I wanted to be there! It seems like I am missing everything! :guilty:

Does anybody watch Big Brother? This is my second season watching it, so ofcourse I'm voting for the Season 6 people, cause I don't know anybody else! I hope Jase goes. He is acting psycho. Sorry if nobody watches it and this doesn't make sense. :sunny:

Nicole: MEXICO!! Uh, NO WAY. You sure got out of that one easy though.

2xcited: I need to win the lottery too. No, don't wanna hear the sad story, I can only imagine what it is. :guilty: Not that I would ever let Ruby fly under with the luggage anyway, I would be a nervous wreck, but most airlines dont allow pugs to fly down there anyways because of their nose.

DonnaLeah: 3 days?!!!! I wish that were me. 58 days til it is!

Dolphinrescuegirl
: (sorry if I spelled that wrong, I am being lazy and don't want to check)- YAY for lunch dates with DH!

YourMajesty: That lego spongebob is awesome! How long did it take to build??

YourMajesty... glad you got your flights and everything ready for Dayton :thumbsup2 ... wow...sleepovers...thankfully I haven't had to worry about that yet. I'll have to look for the T-rex...my ds5 would  that!! He loves dinosaurs!!!! Maybe a good Christmas idea?:)...

Am I the only one that has 1/2 of my Christmas shopping done already? I shop all year round! Like now...my nephew would love the Stitch sleeping bad on disneyshopping.com...reg. $69 for $9.99!!!

lyzziesmom...hope you get feeling better! I have the same sinus crap going on too!!! Miserable!! Hope you get your ME tags soon. Pretty slick w/the tricking the dd w/the $ too;)!!! ds5 can't wait to loose his 1st tooth :)

Hey there Ashley! have fun watching tv!!! I wish I could do a little more of that :)

You guys have fun getting ready for your WDW trips!!! I have to sit here and think when we can go again...It will probably be awhile. If we do a cruise and Hawaii next year...it'll be at least 2008 before we get to wdw... we'll have to see what is going on w/the new theme to see if we HAVE to go down. Million dreams or whatever the new thing going is..?

Hey April...and Amber...and everyone else I'm forgetting... dolphinrescuegirl...

Hi Nicole :)....

WHY can't it be 5:00 yet? I guess I better do some work :rolleyes1

Oh man...I missed it!! Darn...I'll have to look and see when it's on again. I wish they would retape it w/the updates they've done to the ship! When do you want to go?...I'll start packing now :)!!

I could watch that show over and over!! It brings back so many great memories...and makes you want to go again!

It's funny..I work w/about 60 guys here in our office and if anyone mentions WDW or a cruise...everyone says..."you have to go talk to Linda!" It's funny but I would rather be known for being a Disney fanatic than something worse!;)

I think everyone was still sending pixiedust today because I got on great with the boss lady. Guess she was just having a bad day yesterday. Thank you everybody!!! Hope life is going well for ya'll. i havent really had time much this week to really talk and check out what is going on with everybody.I hope to have more time this weekend. Have a great rest of the week! :goodvibes

Hi Everyone!! :wave2:

I've officially made it to the end of day 2 on W.W. and so far I've stuck with it to the number! :thumbsup2 I really hope it pays off.

I've got some catching up to do as I've been busy, busy, busy today. Grocery shopping, errand running that type of thing.

Nicole, there is no way I would leave the country to go to a bachelorette party of someone I didn't even know. You'd have a hard time convincing me to go if it were in the same town but definately not if I'm having to cross borders and not to mention the fact that it's going to cost extra money. No way. Hopefully you'll be able to decline graciously. I hate having to decline invites as well. Sometimes I worry they'll never ask me to do anything again. :worried: And I've even done things in the past just so that I could put myself out there but I still don't think I'd do this. It'd just be to weird not knowing her besides it being in Mexico and everyone speaking a different language. Let us know how it goes.

DznyFan, sorry to hear about your tooth. Hopefully they will be able to see you sooner. Good thoughts and :tinker: Pixie Dust for a sooner appointment.

I use to be like that big time.. always worried about what other people thought. Boy have I changed Now I think...when they start paying my bills, then they can have a say in my life. Everyone has an opinion and everyone knows from being on the CB.... peoples opinions are ALL over the board!!! You do things for YOU, and nobody else. I no longer make decisions based on if someone will get mad, but on what I want! I always tried to please other people and you know what...all they do is walk all over you. I refuse to be anyones doormat any longer.
This is exactly how I'm starting to feel/be. I'm just tired of being the doormat. And I really liked what you said about start paying my bills. . . as I've thought that many times before. Now, hopefully I can start being that way and not just thinking it. I wish I had known your DH's job was going to be on Dirty Jobs last night. DH loves that show and I'll catch it occasionally. Neither one of us saw it last night though. :guilty:

DonnaLeah, Thanks Donna!! That's just what I wanted to hear about WW! Someone who has done it and made it work. As I said above ^, I've made it through day 2 and stayed on track. Tonight I ate a Lean Cuisine french bread supreme pizza and a large salad (that was measured out). I was having a hard time believing that I was staying on the "diet" as it seemed like so much and I was full!! :thumbsup2 I prefer to do the new Flex System as I need structure. So far, so good. :bounce: And yeah for you!!! :bounce: Only 2 more business days until WDW!! Woo~Hoo!! :woohoo:

dolphinrescuegirl, so glad to hear the job is going well. How neat that you work so close to your DH. Continued best wishes and Pixiedust to you! :wizard:

Ain't that the truth! I've had a few of those jobs before and it is not fun! Sorry to hear you're having to go through it. OOOOHHHHH, and guess what I bought yesterday????? I'll give you a hint..... her name is the color of my OOOOHHHHH.... have you guessed yet? Yup, I bought One For the Money. You're not kidding I can't put it down. And laugh out loud? I've done that too!! I'm loving it!! Thanks, you guys, for turning me on to Miss Plum!! :thumbsup2

YourMajesty, that is some project. I love the life size legos at DTD. It's been a long time since I've played with Legos but they're cool at any age!!

That is so sweet!! What a well mannered young man. ::yes::

But, she says, other than that she's having a good time. They're working those kids hard down there. Helping people is her 'cup of tea' so to speak, so she's in her element. I have a suspicion she'll be ready to come home Saturday, though!
Glad to hear that DD is doing well in spite of the bugs and basic living arrangements. It's good to hear that she likes to help people. The world needs more people like her.

Those tooth fairies sure are sneaky little critters aren't they lyzziesmom? That's a cute story! Thanks for sharing. :goodvibes

That's funny. I help out at our local weekly paper on occasion (I used to work there full time in HR a few years ago) and everyone calls me "The Resident Disney Expert" I gladly accept that title. :teeth:

Yay!!! I'm so happy you had another great day at work dolphinrescuegirl!! :grouphug: See...all of our prayers and pixy dust DID work :thumbsup2 !!

Hey there April! :woohoo: Way to go w/WW!!! That is so awesome!! It WILL pay off!! We're here for ya!

I'm not sure if dirty jobs was a re-run or not b/c my boss said he'd seen it before...I don't ever watch it... just dh said his job was going to be on there and I couldn't miss that!

Yes...ds is a very well behaved, well mannered little boy. Every one that meets him falls in love w/him  He is such a sweetheart and someone everyone would love to have around. :cloud9: He's my baby.... my one and only!

Have a great evening guys...I'm going to finish watching "The Rookie"...and tomorrow night I HAVE TO WORK ON MY SCRAPBOOKS!!! I have to, I have to, I have to!!!

Good evening all!!!

April:: :thumbsup2 Glad to hear you're doing so well with WW! I can't say enough good things about it. I forgot to ask if you are going to the meetings or are you doing WW online?

Dolphinrescuegirl:: Super to hear about your great 2nd day!! I had my fingers crossed for you ! :sunny:

Hope everyone is having a good evening!!

ForTheLoveofDisney...I knew you would love the Stephanie Plum books!!! They are so great. I borrowed all the ones my parents have to I can get DD to start reading them. Unfortunately my Sister has 1-3 and she moved to Illinois. We are going to visit them this weekend so I am going to have to borrow them back. I just picked one of the ones I have and started re-reading it. It is so good.

Managed to call DH this morning. Getting thru the hotel switchboard was a trip. I kept asking for someone who spoke English, maybe they were, but I couldn't understand them. Finally got a man I could partially understand but he thought I was calling from inside the hotel and wanted to leave a wake-up call :) I was so thrilled when Blake answered the phone. So far mostly meetings but he will be in Hong Kong this weekend and next week they are going to the Great Wall and the Forbidden City. What an amazing experience for him. He did say that I would never be able to handle it, I would not find anything to eat. I am the world's pickiest eater. I just felt better after I talked to him.

Night All.

My folks went to China a few months ago and they told me the same thing about the food. At one place, they were served a plate of 5 duck heads! Ick!! :crazy2:

I am willing to battle you for the title of World's Pickiest Eater. There are many days I just won't eat because I can't find anything I like, in my own house. That's pretty sad.

Hi gals,

Late evening shift checking in. I haven't read through today's posts yet--will do that in a bit but I just wanted to share one of my favorite singers with you tonight. I'm not sure what made me think of this, but I'd thought I'd share if anyone is interested.

Well, yes I do know what brought this to mind. Maybe because I am listening to her right now. :teeth:

You all know, I think, that I dreaded going to work this morning. It was okay but I am in for some big changes and I cannot do anything about it if I want to keep my job. Everytime I think about it I want to cry, but like I said, it is out of my hands. To put it in a nutshell, nine years of building up a steady clientelle may be going into the toilet. About two years ago, the salon hired a consulting firm and what they say goes. I must conform. Enough of this, I can't talk about it anymore.

Anyway, back to the singer. Her name is Eva Cassidy. I'm not sure what type of music you all listen to, if any, but she is one of my absolute favorites!!! Whenever I listen to Eva an instant calm comes over me. I first learned of her from the movie "Love Actually". There was a scene in this movie where Laura Linney finally hooks up with her "ultimate man" from her office. During this scene the most angelic voice is singing a version of Fleetwood Mac's "Songbird". I was hooked. I went to Borders and found Eva in the folk section. I bought (and highly recommend) two of her CD's--"WONDERFUL WORLD" and "SONGBIRD".

Eva was not a songwriter, but as they claimed, an interpreter of music. She did remakes of some great songs such as Stings' "Fields of Gold", "Wonderful World", Paul Simon's "Kathy's Song", the most beautiful version of "Over the Rainbow" and the list goes on. She sang with the most soul and passion as anyone I have heard. She had a mixture of soul, blues, jazz, and gospel.

Beyond having her beautiful music, her story is even more beautiful and inspiring. Eva worked as a landscaper by trade and never had that much confidence in her music. Her father taught her how to play the acoustic guitar when she was young. Her friends encouraged her to go to "open-mike nights" at blues clubs. She even recorded a demo tape of "Kathy's Song" and left out several verses because she thought they would get tired of her voice. If you listen to it, you know this is far from the truth. She was wonderful. Eva developed melanoma and passed away in 1996 at age 33. She still lives on in her music.

I don't mean for this post to be a downer, but if you like different types of music, I urge you to check her out. I have gotten several of my friends hooked on her and as I said earlier, an instant peace and calm comes over me when I put Eva's music on. I hope you enjoy her as much as I do.

I am now going to read the chit-chat of the day. I'll be back in a bit. :wave2:

Okay, I'm back. I am sure, once again you were waiting by your screens--NOT.

YM--- :worship: :worship: ---cuz you know I must. Nice square pants. :teeth: Boy, you did have a late night, didn't you?? Get some sleep, girl. :grouphug: Thanks for all of your help!!

Miss Donna--I'm just joking because I know you're joking. :teeth: :teeth: ----->( this is suddenly becoming my favorite smilie). You can make up for it by making some luscious eggs benedict for me in the morning. I have a pretty good hollandaise sauce recipe that is low fat. I'll send it over. ;) I'm a big girl--can take some teasin'. :teeth: (there I go again).
Less than 3 more days. WOOOO HOOOOO :cheer2: :cool1:
What's TTFN?? I am no good with these. :sad2:

Linda--Thanks for your share in the lottery. But, you can't win if you don't play. Is this slogan everywhere, or just my area?? You do play, don't you?? :lmao: Awfully sweet of you. I know what you mean about getting more blunt as you get older. Life's too short to put up with too much you know what.
Don't get into too much trouble while the boss is gone. But you can have a little fun. :woohoo:
Christmas shopping already?? Sad to say but I am a last minute girl. It is getting worse and worse as the years pass. I wish I could be more organized. Can't even think that far ahead. Good for you.
Did I miss something?? Your DH was on tv??

TinkGirl Nicole--I hope it stopped raining. We need the rain but definitely not the storms like last week.
Yes, I agree your trips are far more important to save your dollars for.

DznyFan--no Snickers for you. Don't want to take a chance on that tooth. Wait, I just noticed something--you appointment is Wed.?? Today is Wed., is it not?? You mean NEXT Wed.?? Yikes. Clear broth. over and over and over.
Your DD is going to need some major TLC when she gets back. That and lots of calymine (no idea on spelling because every way looks wrong. or right) lotion for her skeeter bites. I am still in awe of her for doing this.
Lottery pool. hhmmm.

Pozey--How did you like Mimi's?? We have one here. It is okay. To me it is always so loud, but the decor is cute. Kind of French Quarter, New Orleans flair. It is darling from the outside with the red barrell-tiled roof. I sure hope we are speaking of the same place.

Lyzziesmom--That tooth fairy can be pretty amazing. Her cost of living has gone sky high, though, because I cannot believe how much she gives my niece for one tooth. I think I am going to start pulling my own out. The gappy grins are the cutest.
One question for you--how do you manage to crack a molar on a Cheez-it?? Was it stale?? ;) I have more of a sweet tooth so I would't really know. did you ever get those Krispy Kremes??
I wonder if the DIS is contagious because how many of you have colds?? Summer colds are the worst. Hope you're feeling better.

Ashley--I didn't hear the Andrea Yates thing. I will have to catch up on it tomorrow. Yes, that is unexpected.
I am sorry you are feeling sad. When will you see your mom again. Did she decide if she is watching Ruby??

YAY FOR DOLPHINRESCUEGIRL------ :dance3: :dance3: So glad you are liking it and having good days at your new job. Just keep the positive attitude and it will all be fine.

April--keep up the good work. Getting through the first couple of weeks will probably be the hardest. We will happily be your support system.
YAY, you hear that girls---we've recruited another Plum fan. I am estatic that you like them. I am grinnin' ear to ear right now!!!! Babe.
I do need to start re-reading them now!! Just wait, they get even better. :smooth:

MImom--Good to hear you hubby is alright and you got to actually got to speak with him, not just e-mail. For some reason I have no desire to go to the Orient, either. I am not a picky eater, but some of those things make me a bit queezy. Europe is more my style.
Did you hear the news----April likes Ms. Plum. :teeth: :teeth:

I hope I am not forgetting anyone. If so, let me know. ------poet and didn't know it. How old am I??

Night all.

Donna--

Did you cringe when you saw two looooooong posts from me?? Now you will be 40 min. late. haha :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

See you in the morning. Oh, wait --it is officially morning. Now.

Have a good day.  eggs benedict.

I have the beverages ready and the buffet is out this morning..a special surprise!!! One of the main courses will be a special request!!!
eggs-benedict.gif

Good news I took the Evelyn Wood speed reading course. No more complaining about the size of a post for me!! :thumbsup2

MI mom of 3:: Happy you heard from DH. Sounds like he will be seeing some amazing sights. Don't think I would much care for some of the food either and I'm not that picky of an eater!!!

Lyzziesmom::I hope that cold dries up!!! Your dilema reminds of an old obsure Howie Mandel movie where he plays some sort of monster under the bed. He picks his nose, looks at it and says"I thought it was something good but its SNOT" Sorry, that was gross, but I'm not going to delete it!!!!

April:: Didn't do so well with my eating habits last night. DH took us out to Pizza Hut!! But the bright side is I didn't eat as much as I wanted to!!! :sunny:

2xcited2slp:: I'm sorry for the job changes. Hang in there and I'll be sending some pixiedust: pixiedust: (It worked for Dolphinrescuegirl and Lyzziesmom!!) My new moto: Never underestimate the power of Pixiedust!!
TTFN=ta ta for now!!(I don't know why I posted that, not one of my favorite abbreviations!!)

Dolphinrescuegirl:: Hey!! Isn't tomorrow the day you can wear jeans to work!! Thank Goodnes for Fridays!!!! :yay: :yay:

And last but not least....only 2 more days, only 2 more days!!! :earsboy: :earsgirl: :earsboy:

Ok Donna...now I'm really hungry...that looks so good!!! 2 more days :woohoo: that is so awesome!!! I'm all excited for you! I can't wait to go again!!! You'll have to bring back pictures!!

2xcited2slp...I don't play the lotto religiously or anything but I play occasionally. DH plays more than I do...but if he wins...I win :teeth: I've always shopped for Christmas all year. I see things I know someone would like, I just buy it and throw it in a rubbermaid container in the basement...makes it much easier. Plus I HATE driving around the mall and stores in the winter!!! The nasty roads, very rude people and crowds...just not worth it to me. I like to have everything bought and wrapped by Dec. 1st so all of Dec. is for baking goodies and decorating the house and having fun w/ds5!!! DH wasn't on tv...just what he did in the military for 20 yrs :) He retired this month...but he was a "tankrat" he repaired the fuel tanks on the military aircraft. It was on "dirty jobs"... I never watch that show but it was cool to see. They're in such tight places..and the suits and face masks...it was cool. ds5 loved to go to the base and climb around those huge planes :) We'll have to get a flight schedule and go for a ride sometime...its FREE :)! I keep telling dh we should get a schedule and fly down to FL sometime!! That would be so awesome! Good luck at work. I'm going through similar things here... changes and no control :grouphug: They're letting about 5 people go and I have to take over ALL their responsibilities!! This BETTER come w/ some $$$!! Our company is getting bought out AGAIN.... I've been here for 7 years and this will be the 3rd time! Good luck... we'll send our pixydust :) it seems to be pretty effective around here :)! I'll have to check Eva out :thumbsup2

Michele... wow I would hate trying to talk to people that don't understand me. So frustrating! We have that problem in our own country!! It drives me crazy...we're in USA and speak english....so if you want a job here... you should speak english!! sorry...that just aggrevates the heck out of me :) Glad you finally got to talk to him! That would be some really cool sight seeing. I could survive w/o eating their food too much. I'd pack a bunch of beef jerky or something :) Hopefully he's able to find enough that is edible. I'm sure talking to him was wonderful :)glad you finally got through to him.

have a good one I better get some work done :rolleyes1

Morning cliquers......

I have a question for my fellow Tulsa area cliquers....Did you guys see the piece on the 10 o'clock news last night on "How to save money on your Disney World trip"? It was on Channel 2 news.

They interviewed a woman who takes her family to Disney World every 2 years. I was wondering if she might be a DISer. :confused3

Oh, and 2xcited2slp........I'm a guy........ :teeth: :wave2:

Donna, just 2 more business days to get through! :cool1: I am attending the WW meetings. I know I'd have no willpower just doing it on my own with the computer. I need to go to weigh ins and here the testimonies and "class".

Michele, your phone story is funny. Now I'm envious of your DH. Sounds like a once in a lifetime trip. Oh to see those sights. Tell him to take lots of pictures. I too fear that if I ever was able to take a trip to China I would not find anything to eat. I love Chinese food but from everything I've ever heard, they Americanize it. I've heard this is not how the Chinese people eat in China. :confused3

lyzziesmom said:

Oh, that is just nasty! Blech, that is making me get goose bumps at the thought.

2xcited2slp, I did a search for Eva Cassidy on Amazon (so I could hear some selections). Beautiful! She does have an angelic voice. I could see me listening to her CD's. Thanks for sharing. :goodvibes

Well, here I go to get my day started. Talk to you all later.

Good Morning!

Michele- I'm glad you heard from DH. I am a picky eater too. I would not be able to find anything to eat in China either!

April- Great job with WW! Keep up the good work!

Lyzziesmom- I liked your Tooth Fairy story! I got a decent amount of money from the tooth fairy when I was little.

Donna- Two more days! :Pinkbounc

2xcited- I'm sorry for the job changes.

Have a great day everyone!
