I've done that before! In fact I did it this morning. I hate it when that happens!

Yes, it will be a difficult decision. And one of the "problems" is that they are wanting me to make a decision really fast. Like NOW.

pixiedust: pixiedust: and :grouphug: for you in your impending decision. No doubt you'll do what's best for you and your family. I envy you have the opportunity!

have a great evening guys... I'm taking this migraine..and getting some sleep. I got a whole 2 pages of my disney scrapbook done and I'll finish my post in the morning....the most important thing I was wanting to post earlier was about Wishes...the schedule on this dis website still shows the hours for Wishes in Sept. so I think they'll still be showing it for you guys :) Have a good one :headache:

I am just about finished packing!!! Whew!!! If one of my guys has something missing that they needed when we get to WDW.....well, it's not y fault!!! I don't get much help or input. Guess I should have this packing thing down to a science by now!!

Pozey:: I can see by your profile you're a guy...why didn't I look before? If I have offended you in any previous posts I apologize!!! :sunny:

Hellokitty86:: You can enjoy breakfast anytime, the buffet is replenished for you late arrivals!!! :wave2: Keeping my fingers crossed for your DH's job. I can tell how much you miss your family. I have always been lucky to be near mine!! :grouphug:

2xcited2slp::I will have to research Eva Cassidy. You mentioned she did a version of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow." In the movie "You've Got Mail", someone sang that song and I thought it was beautiful. (I think that's the movie??) Glad to hear you enjoyed the "cyber-breakfast"! It did look yummy and it's calorie free!! YMMV :thumbsup2

To everyone in our "Non-clique" I hope your days are toothache, headache and cold free. No stress from the kids, our jobs, or life in general. pixiedust:

Anybody else out there!! It's past 10pm, I should be in bed but, I'm Too Excited To Sleep!!!

I think I may have a breakfast plan for tomorow. I'll have to see how that works out.

Well I'm off to bed... hopefully no critters will upset my slumber. I think my Ambien must have kicked in just now... it took me about five tries to get that capital A, and I seem to be typing on the ceiling. How bizarre!

This is what happens when you go home and sit on the couch to turn on Bear... then that big ol' orange Bear has such a soothing voice, you decide to lay down for a minute, since your normally nerf-ball toddler is unusually cuddly. Then you wake up at bedtime and hey! imagine that - you feel better! Or at least more alert.

What she said.

On my to-do list for the weekend:
1. Find those nasty little maidies who haven't come to my house in AGES and put them to work!
2. Check out these Plum books you've all been raving about. They don't sound like my cup o'tea, but due for a few more books to get me through the month so I'll see what I can see.
3. Begin packing for the move AND for my trip. Yes it's early, but I have a system. See, I never really UNpacked from my May trip, so it's already 1/2 done! :teeth: I just have to decide what to wear & toss it in, then toss in the toiletries on the morning we leave. It's the deciding what to wear part that could take weeks! I like to be comfy AND look good in pictures, but my body is rebelling against me on both counts.
4. Find a unique, inexpensive way to entertain the children. Maybe a game where I call them maidies and they do my bidding... I pay very low wages in Disney Dollars only. Yeah, I like that game!

Ok well before I fall asleep & start typing out my dreams (don't laugh, it's happened!) I better turn in.

All right, you can laugh now.

Hi to all the girls and our boy-- :sunny:

How was everyone's day?? Mine was a little better, thanks to all of the Pixiedust--I just know it!! I am trying to take a more upbeat, positive attitude about the job thing. I cannot fight what is going on, so I just have to "go with the flow". The new goals are a work in progress so I will just have to try my best and see what happens. I cannot do anymore than that. There. That's my story and I'm stickin' to it.

I don't think I could do a news clip without passing out. I hope they weren't talking about making beanie weenies and ramen nooldes in the coffe pot, grilled chesse with the iron...etc...did anyone read that thread.

YM--There is a show here in St. Louis called "Show Me St. Louis" (imagine that) that covers all aspects of the city--museums, restaurants, special occassions, etc. Well, years ago they came to my salon to cover a service that we offered and my boss wanted me to do the segment. I about freaked, as me and public speaking just do not mix, especially back then. I did the interview and got through it but came close to either fainting or puking. Luckily, I didn't do either one, but I know I came across very nervous. I felt like Cindy Brady when she got on camera and just stared at the red light.
People really don't do the beanie weenie and ramen noodle thing, do they?? Now the ironed grilled cheese I can see. :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 just kiddin'.

I am sorry you are in a funk. Sounds like you are in a "Calgon-take me away" moment. You can complain. That's what we're here for. :grouphug: :grouphug: I know the steroids have an effect on bone density but I'm not sure if a short term dosage will have that same effect. You may want to ask your dr. or even your physical therapist.
Feel better, our DIS sister. We could sing a song..................come on, sing with me now...........Greeeeeeen Acres is the place to be ---faaaaarm livin' is the life for me........
Did ya smile?? :teeth: :teeth:

Pozey--Hi to our man of the family.
Any kind of change is scary. It is especially hard since you have to give an answer asap. Are you in a position that you could try it for maybe a year and if you or DW and kids don't like it you could go back to Oklahoma?? I know, easier said than done. Weigh your options. Cost of living is a tough one. Hopefully your salary would reflect on this. I am sure you will make the right choice. :grouphug:

DznyFan--your African choral music sounds nice. Where did you find it?? Is it actually related to The Lion King, or is it a "knock-off"??
Thanks for salvaging my reputation. You never know what people around here think of you!! :rolleyes1

Ashley--I didn't hear about the castle rehab. I wonder what they are doing. I am sure they are still doing Wishes. I can't imagine them not having a fireworks show. That is so sweet that you touch the slipper in the mural for good luck. I just may have to try that. :wizard:
I'll keep my fingers crossed for you DH and his resume. It sounds like you are really excited about the possibility of moving back to Lauderdale.
I adore Love Actually too. There are a couple of scenerios in that movie that really "hit home" for me. I remember sobbing when I first saw it and when I heard Eva's voice-----  buckets. I'm glad you are liking her too. Yes, her story is very sad but she is such an inspiration. I wonder if she realizes how she has touched people's lives in the way that she has.

Lyzziesmom--great, now I am going to be wide awake watching out for creepycrawly thingies. Years ago my dad was dreaming that there was a spider on my mom's face and he actually slapped her in his sleep. He then started ripping the sheets off of the bed looking for it. :rotfl2:
You sound like a fun momma!!
Feel better soon. It's almost the weekend so maybe you can get some rest??

Donna----I looked at YMMV and got this funny look on my face. Why I can't figure out something that I wrote myself astonishes me to no end.

:cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cheer2: :cheer2: :woohoo: :woohoo:
Can you believe it--------YOUR GOING TO WDW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh, and BTW--I don't require royalties for the use of my name. :teeth:

I'm not sure who sang Over the Rainbow in You've Got Mail--I'm thinking it was a guy, though. Check Eva out, though, if you have a chance.

I wanted to say----HAVE A WONDERFUL TRIP!!!!!!!!! We will miss you when you are gone and will be thinking of you. Be safe and all of that.
(Not sure if I'll get to talk to you tomorrow)

Good night everyone. Talk to you in the morning, hopefully.

...........darlin' I love you, but give me Park Avenue......... ............ the end.
Cuz I know you all were singin' it this entire time. puckerup:

I am trying to get ready for beddy-by when I read this---not a good thing when I just chugged ALOT of water!!!!!!! I'm thinkin' you would like the Plum books because you do have the dry, crazy sense of humor that is required---just like I am finding out many of us have here.
You crack me up, girl. But then again, sometimes I am the only one who cracks myself up. Pity. Party.

Good morning all you Cliqueless Disers!! :sunny: This morning I have a VERY special breakfast planned! (You can even have our cyber-breakfast if you don't get up until noon!) I am going to pretend I won the lottery. After contacting my accountant and actually having the money in my bank account, I am going to make reservations at the Polynesian. I have the required amount of rooms reserved(castle view, of course) and we are eady to have our first breakfast at The Kona Cafe:

The waiter has our Tonga Toast ready and waiting!! (If you don't like Tonga Toast, insert favorite breakfast here--->

I have to print out boarding passes this morning. Buddy goes to his Doggy Hotel before we leave this evening. Since we have a 7:45am flight and the airport is about 1 1/2 hous away, we are spending the night in St. Louis and doing a Park'n Fly thing with the hotel. DS and I are so excited!! :woohoo: DH just rolls with the flow.

2xcited2slp::You sound a bit more upbeat about your job. Keeping fingers crossed for you.I listened to Eva Cassidy on amazon.com last night. While I am sure that is not the person I heard sing in "You've Got Mail", Eva has a very beautiful voice. I also listen to everything from Counting Crows & Matchbox 20 to Tim McGraw and Jimmy Buffett!! I also like to listen to Celtic tunes and that sort of thing once in a while...like when I am by myself and a certain DH is not there to roll his eyes at me!! :rolleyes2

DznyFan:: Isn't DD coming home tomorrow!! YAY!! I know you are going to be so happy to see her!!

Have a fantastic Friday everyone!!!!!

Good Morning everyone.

Donna that breakfast looks wonderful, just what I needed this morning. I am off to Illinois this morning. Going to visit family. I have never done any kind of long drive by myself before, tho I am following my parents. So I will be gone from the boards for the weekend. Whatever shall I do?

If I could ask for a little Pixie Dust? I talked to DH on the phone Wed morning but haven't heard from him even by email since. I know he is probably very busy and just forgot but I know he has changed hotels since I talked with him and I don't have his latest phone number. If I don't hear from him by this afternoon I will call his work to see if they have, but if everyone could just send some good thoughts I would really appreciate it.

Have a great weekend!!

Michele, :grouphug: I'm sure your DH is fine, but here's some pixiedust: for you.

DonnaLeah, you are killing me!! I haven't tried Kona yet, but might on my next, next trip (I already have too many ADR's for Nov.) I'll take any excuse to visit the Poly! You are going to have such a great trip!!!

Pozey, if it were me I would move. Good luck in your decision,

Does anyone ever feel like nothing goes right??

A few weeks ago our kitchen flooded and one wall (and some of the floor) was damaged. The wall was so wet that I actually tore it.

Then our lawn mower blew up (we have been fighting an ongoing battle with it for over a year). We were trying to put off buying a new one until the spring, but it doesn't look like that's going to happen.

Now, power in half our rooms doesn't work. The power shuts off, but it doesn't kick the breaker. It first happened a couple of days ago, but came back on. Yesterday it stopped working all together. We have no idea what it could be. We don't know if it's a faulty breaker or outler or what.

DH and I can't stand our place. I wish we could just leave it and move. I don't iknow if I ever want to own a home again. Renting seems like a great option right now. I haven't been able to sleep in days (not that I am ever the best sleeper, but still).

On a good note, it's Friday!!! :Pinkbounc  :bounce:

Ok...lets try this again and NOT lose it...

2xcited2slp...Kenny is my one and only baby  When I finally got pregnant and after having all the miscarriages...I am just so blessed to finally have him in my life! I think when you try so hard and go through some of the things some of us have to bring those little ones into the world...you truly appreciate them so much more. Some people take that for granted. Plus the hell we went through w/his dad....we're just very close!!! His dad was abusive and wanted nothing to do w/us after he was born... he didn't even pick us up at the hospital when he was born...his parents did :furious: so...we are very very close! My ex wouldn't do ANYTHING for himself...he wouldn't even open a can of soup for himself...and somehow I managed to find the most wonderful man ever...total godsend :thumbsup2 dh has been so wonderful to us. He now watches ds everyday...takes him swimming, takes him to the library, go picking berries...whatever...he cleans the house, cooks dinner...everything!! Total 180 to say the least!!! He spent 26 years in the military...20 or 21 of it full time. He was going to retire early next year but had to move it up since he's just in so much pain. Last night he slept about 3 hours...that life in the military just killed his body. He's had several surgeries and more to come... so, he'll go to veterans and they'll say what % he's disabled and then he'll go to soc. sec... so he'll end up making about the same if not more than when he was working...so he'll be ok... he just turned 45 last week so he is young but he's done a great job preparing for the future. Thank god! I'm sending all the prayers and pixy dust I have to you for your situation at work :grouphug: pixiedust: When one door closes, another opens.

Amber... I bet your Mickey tennis braclet is so adorable!! I'm going to have to do some disney jewelry shopping next time at Poly...they've got some really nice stuff!! You're going to WDW the week after turkey day!!! That is so awesome. It is a great time to go!!! The mvmcp...the xmas decor...the crowds and weather are perfect... :woohoo: great choice! My boss goes twice a year..and one trip is always on turkey day...You should still be able to walk inside the castle...probably not all the way around but I don't think they'll close CRT and the gift shops there...they'd lose SOOO much $!! Oh...I HATE snow too !!

YourMajesty... :grouphug: sorry you're having so much pain...dh does too! He got about 3 hrs. sleep last night. I can't imagine trying to live in pain all the time. He's up to 6 pain pills a day...he won't take narcotics unless he has too...maybe once a week a vicodin or something... I think he takes tramadol? something like that? Hope your Dr. gives you something to help in the pain management...yesterday dh had to get 2 cortizone shots...one on each side of his spine... yikes!! Maybe it'll get a little easier when the kiddos get back in school. By this time of summer they're probably getting bored and the neighborhood moms trying to pawn their kids off on other people... that would get old!! Hang in there :) Summer is almost over.

Pozey...since they changed your dress code I guess you'll have to result in wearing disney polos :)....Ok, you might not wear them to work...the guys here expect it from me ;)... wow... a job offer in FL!!! :woohoo: That would be so awesome and scary at the same time. I'm sure you could do some shopping and find a decent house...maybe w/some help from the DIS even! I would be afraid I'd get there and not like it too. DH says no way since it's so hot but I'd much rather stay in from the heat than stay in from the snow!!! I wouldn't like that there aren't too many basements, I love my storage! I wouldn't like the bugs...but I'd LOVE being close to WDW..that would make all the negatives fade away for me!! dh has an aunt that lives down there and said she cried everyday for the first 3 years...only b/c she missed her family here so bad. Kids and grandkids... I can understand that. Since you already have family there...that would be great!! Good luck w/your decision and of coarse have to see how your family feels about it.

Ashley...Castle refurb...I looked on the schedules and it still shows Wishes so I think you'll be ok. I know they do let some fireworks off the castle so they might have to change it a bit... we ate at CRT in May and watched wishes from inside the castle  A job offer in Ft. Lauderdale??? That would be incredible!! Good luck!! I use to be really bad about giving the xmas gifts and having to go shopping again but since I've met my dh I've gotten so much better at that...He set up shelves and rubbermaid containers in the basement and has them marked... If I buy gifts I throw them in the right container. I've got birthday and xmas stuff sorted and ready! :woohoo: I still have to finish ds's and buy dh a gun...

Nicole...don't feel bad. I've never done the multi post thing either...never tried. I'm sure we could figure it out :) gifts early??? Yeah...we do too :) Last year dh wanted a lazyboy recliner so he got that a few months early... no biggie. We're adults, it doesn't have to be ON that day. I'm pretty sure dh got my Thomas Kinkade Disneyland pix for me this year :artist:  !!! He said I could have it now...but I said no...I haven't bought his gun for him yet.I don't want mine if I don't have his yet !!! Also, you should still be able to walk in the castle, but probably not all the way through it...They would lose so much $$$ I can't see them closing CRT down! I'll do some reading and see!

lyzziesmom..packing :woohoo: I would be so excited...moving to a new place...and packing for your trip!!! that is awesome! And it is so much more fun being able to joke and play w/your kids. Much better relationship that way isn't it? !!!

Donna :woohoo: what a breakfast!!! Thanks so much :thumbsup2 That is too awesome!!! Have a great trip...we'll miss ya. And your wonderful meals! Have a safe trip...I'm so excited for you... Oh...I can't wait to go again!!!

Michele...be careful on your trip! It will be ok. I have traveled ALL over the country...and have drove alone a lot too. I'd get off work in Cape May,NJ and drive 11 hours home on Friday...I'd get home about 3am Sat. morning!!! So, you can do this :thumbsup2 It'll be ok. At least you'll be following your parents this time. Have a great visit w/your family. We'll miss you...you'll have to catch up Monday. I hated being gone from the dis for a whole weekend too :) Hope you hear from your dh today. I'm sure he's fine but I'm sure it still feel so good to hear his voice

:woohoo: TGIF Have a great Friday everyone!!

Wow..Amber that is crazy. Sounds like you might want to put a thread on the CB and see if any electricians can give you some advice? :grouphug: I love owning homes...but they can be a pain! Newer is easier but it will usually cost ya! I feel your pain w/mowers and all that good stuff. I have a riding lawn mower at my rental that has been a pain for the past few years. thankfully dh is so awesome at that kind of stuff...he can fix about anything or at least rig it to last as long as possible...now..I think it's finally shot. So, I just told them they're responsible for getting it mowed...actually I told them that last year but they were still using my equipment to get it done. Now they're using my push mower to mow it... no way...not me! Good luck! It's the weekend :woohoo: Hopefully you'll get your power issue fixed soon!

Good Morning all!

Donna, the tonga toast looks wonderful, and I think a castle-view room at the Poly is probably just what everyone needs right now! OH - but you're leaving tomorrow... where are you staying? Ypu'll be missed here, but have a magical trip!

DD is coming home tomorrow - YAY!!! She called me yesterday, and sounded just exhausted. They've been working their backsides off, and she said the water where they're at is kind of nasty, so they haven't even been swimming in the evenings. I suppose she's kind of spoiled with the bahamian clear water from going on the cruises - of course the lake water that she's accustomed to swimming in here in OK is less than beautiful, but I guess the beaches down there are still in pretty bad shape. They were all supposed to be able to go to some yacht club down there last night and go swimming. She said they took a break yesterday and she and her tent mate went to catch a power nap, but couldn't even sleep because it was so hot. Said she's ready to come home!

2xcited - The CD that I have is called "Rhythm Of The Pride Lands" and it is music inspired by The Lion King. It has a couple of pieces not used in the film but used in the Broadway musical. I believe it is a Disney released CD. I bought it years ago, but I imagine you can find it used on Amazon.

Michele - pixiedust: for you for safe travel, and more pixiedust: for your DH. Surely you'll hear from him soon!

Linda I just wanted to cry reading your story about XH and DS. What an ***. Well, thankfully you've got a great guy now and what sounds like a fabulous life! Sorry for the migraine last night and hope you're feeling better today! How's that scrapbook coming?

Amber - much luck with the home electricity. Like Linda said, homeownership is great, but can be a real pain.

We put DD's little car in the shop to have her a/c fixed while she was gone, and picked it up this a.m. to the tune of $1100.00 OUCH. New compressor and all related parts, new serpentine belt, and fixed an abs sensor. That's almost what we paid for it - but on the upside, we still have less in it than we could probably sell it for. Pozey now that her a/c is fixed, be on the lookout for the white Cavalier. Drive the other way! quick!! :lmao:

To everybody: :wave2: and have a wonderful FRIDAY!!! Tenants are calling me, problems abound, and fires need to be put out.

Good Morning!

Donna- Thanks for breakfast at Kona! It looks delicious! Have a great trip!

Michele- Have fun with your family! I'm sure that you will hear from DH soon. And here is your requested pixiedust:

Linda- Your DH sounds wonderful! And we will learn how to multiple post quote together! :teeth:

Amber- I know the feeling.:( Hopefully you will get everything fixed.

I went to a Astros game last night. I had a good time even though they lost. :furious:

My grandma has her surgery this morning. I know she will be okay. She's a strong woman.

Hey, I happen to know of a great apartment that will be available very soon! Of course, you'd have to move to Kansas. Here's some good wishes :wizard: and pixie dust pixiedust: for you, sounds like you need it!

2xcited: I hate hate hate workplace changes. I'm not a big fan of any kind of change, but work changes are the worst. Good luck to you, and keep up that "roll with it" attitude.

Linda: I loved your story about your son and new hubby, it gives me hope! My X was also a huge (insert rude word for donkey here) and he left when Emma was only 2 months old, never to be seen again. Actually, I kicked him out because I found out he was still married to HIS ex! :furious: He took every penny we had and left me with nothing, I had to live in my parents' basement for a while. He even took all the meat from the freezer! That whole experience pretty much destroyed my trust & faith in people of the male persuasion (no offense, pozey!). It's nice to know that there are still good ones left out there, when I'm ready to find one.

Donna: I am so envious of your vacation! Take me with you!! At least ours is coming up soon, but those last few weeks always seem the longest. I'm glad I've got lots of other things to keep us busy in the meantime, so the time will pass more quickly.

Nicole: Good luck to your grandma, I'm sure she'll be  before you know it!

There is an end in sight to my cold! Feeling marginally better today... thinking of asking Mom to babysit the kiddies a little after work to attend a farewell for a co-worker, if I'm up to it. Mom might not go for it - after all, she DOES watch them all day - but it never hurts to ask. It's always nice to socialize with people over 3 feet tall once in a while, where the conversation (hopefully) does not include the word "poop."

I'd better get back to work, the phone is ringing off the hook but I'm in full-on "Friday Mode," where my motto is: It Can Wait Until Monday. Then Monday comes around and my motto is: Oh Crap! Why Didn't I Do This Earlier?!?

If I weren't terrified of tornadoes I would! Glad to hear you are starting to feel better.

Thank you everyone for the well wishes. DH is going to try and fix it tonight. Wish him luck!

Hi everyone!

YAY! It's Friday. This week seemed to go by quicker then most.

Well, you guys know how DH's car isn't working properly and he gets a ride with a nice man who lives close to us to work? The car works to go down the street to the grocery store, and around town and thats about it. We live pretty far from his work. Well, today his wife had a doctor's appointment that of course he went to, and he didn't pick DH up until about 10:45. Then he said that he wont be able to give DH a ride home until about 8 pm. He has to make up some work since he got in so late. :guilty: I have been upset all last night and today just thinking of how long I'm going to be alone today.

I hate that I don't drive and even if I had a license I wouldn't HAVE a car to drive. :guilty: I could go to the mall and browse around or something.

anyways, Donna, that breakfast was fabulous! Thank you and have a wonderful, safe trip and take lots of pictures and write notes for a trip report so we can read about it. :)

Nicole: I'm praying for your Grandma!

Amber: Sorry about the flood. I feel your pain. We had a flood in December and it was a nightmare. We rent though so the rental company took care of the damage to our house. I hope you get it all fixed and it doesn't cost too much!

:wave2: to everyone! 2xcited, Pozey, April, Linda, and lyzziesmom! :wave2: :wave2:

I feel bad because it seems like all I do on this thread is complain! Really, I'm not like this all the time!!! :teeth: :artist:
