Morning, everybody!

We used to have to drive into the 71st St. nightmare zone to get to a Starbucks - at Garnett - but now we've got one in Bass Pro. It's right next to the big aquarium, so you can get your Mocha Latte, but have to breathe fish smell while you're standing in line!!
Speaking of fish - did any of my fellow OKers notice that the rain yesterday afternoon smelled? I said wet dog, my DD said fish. Yuk.

MI Mom I read about your DS - so glad that he's OK! What a scary moment for you, though!

I agree with the nightmare zone...I go there if I'm out South. I haven't been to the bass pro. DH and DS's have been several times. One time he brought me a caramel frap home but I assumed he had stopped at Target (right now the only one in Owasso). The Starbucks makes our Target smell great. I didn't smell the fish smell yesterday with the rain...but I knew what you are talking about. Wow...it's almost 10 and I haven't had any coffee. :surfweb:

This has nothing to do with anything that's been talked about here, but I just wanted to share...

My DD7, (the Beverly girl in my sig) who is very crafty, got a hold of some 3D fish stickers. I kept asking her "What are you going to make with fish stickers??" She said "Don't worry I'll think of something."

So she made me a little mini-card. I open it up, and inside is a big ol' 3D fish, and she wrote "We always hav a Fish of a time together!"

Now I have no idea what that means, but it was soooo cute, it made my eyes teary! So now whenever we are having fun we say we are having a Fish of time!

Maybe I will scan it tonight & post a pic.

Sure it did - fish! How sweet of her... she's just too cute - I wish my girl were little still. Now she's just a rotten teenager. (not really rotten).

is it 5:00 yet?

There is a Starbucks in the Randall's grocery store. Since that wasn't good enough they built a freestanding one literally across the street! So on our little island, 10 miles long and 3 miles across, we have at least 3 starbucks. Who needs that many in such a small place?

Dropping in to say "hello" :) Just so excited!!! Today is DH44's last day of work. He's retiring :woohoo: He's spent the last 26 yrs in the military. 21 yrs full time. He thinks he'll be so bored... I told him we can always move to WDW and work there a few days a week for fun!!! He says it's too hot :(. I'll have to work on him!! I'm so proud of him!! I'll miss the active duty discounts, but well worth the trade knowing he'll be at home SAFE!!!

Lyziesmom: I have a 7 year old DS, sometimes he can come up with the darndest things, too!! What your DD did was priceless!! :goodvibes

Hey all! I haven't been able to check in or catch up much today at all.. I was back to work for the first time since last Wednesday - whew.. DH is driving me  being laid up!

I didn't know part of the caregiver role was to be his constant companion?! "Where are you going? Aren't you going to keep me company?" AHHHHHH!!!

Yesterday when he said he wanted Subway I was so happy to get out of the house I realized I still had my pink fuzzy slippers on!!! I posted about it here:

Lindakmonty - congrats on your DH's retirement!! But after these few days I'm afraid of when mine retires!!!
