Who here is not in the "clique" like me? Part 4

Linda: See, Kenny's got it figured out! What a sweetie, I bet that made Mike's day.

That's like Emma, sometimes she will say "I don't have a daddy but I have a Poppy!" (that's what they call my dad) She is a little confused though, one day our conversation went like this:

Emma: I have a daddy.
Me: Oh really? Who is that?
E: Poppy is my daddy.
M: No, Poppy is your grandpa, he's my daddy.
E: NO HE'S NOT, he is MY daddy!
M: No, he is your grandpa.
E: Who is your grandpa?
M: Grandpa S. is my grandpa.
E: NO HE'S NOT, he is MY grandpa! *(note, he is really her great-grandpa)*
M: No, he is my grandpa and Grammy's daddy.
E: Who is your daddy?
M: Poppy is my daddy.
E: NO HE'S NOT, he is MY daddy, and he is my grandpa too! You can't have him!

It's like Who's on First around here sometimes! Or like the song, "I Am My Own Grandpa."

awwwww poor Emma will get it figured out:cloud9: :grouphug: she knows her poppy is the one that make sure she's taken care of ;) she's so cute!

Awwww, Linda, that is so sweet of Kenny. He knows, he knows..... and from everything I've heard you say, he's one lucky boy, too.

Lyzziesmom - that's sad that Lyzzie 's dad is that way, but it is amazing how quickly they figure things out about their parents. They say a cardinal rule is never talk negatively to one's children about the other parent, and so many parents do, but you know, they don't have to. The kids always seem to figure it out on their own. Both Lyzzie and Kenny are prime examples. And poor little Emma - she'll get it all worked out eventually.

You guys should be, and rightly so probably are, super proud of those kids.

Awww, thanks DznyFan, I am so proud of my little stinkers! Emma is so funny, when I put her to bed at night I used to sing her this little song about her stinky feet. The other night she accidentally said, "stinky thing" when she asked for the song, so now it has become the Stinky Thing Song! And she loves when I call her a Stinky Thing! I think she might be a little confused on the meaning of the word Stinky.

Emma spent her whole dinner tonight looking at the postcard you sent us. She was pointing to each of the icons, asking what's that? and where is that one? and can we go inside that one? It's so cute to hear her say Eppp!cohhht! and Stuuuuuuudeeeeeee-ohhhs! and Ammmal Keeeen-dummm! And of course she had to tell me all about how fireworks are pretty scary but they look pretty nice.

Lyzziesmom- I just want to give Emma a big hug! :grouphug: She's figure it out eventually.

I just need to vent, feel free to ignore- I read a blog that my SIL's husband wrote on Myspace, and he makes me so angry!!!! I hate how he blames everything on her and doesn't want to take any responsbilty for his actions. They're going though a tough time right now and it just hurts to see him write those awful things about my best friend. Okay, that felt better!

Ooooh that is SO sweet!!!

Vent away, Nicole! That guy sounds like a jerk.

Dznyfan....I'm lovin your trip report!!!

Tonight I took the girls and I to have manicures and pedicures done. Madison almost fell asleep in the chair having her pedicure done. :rotfl2: The chair had a massager in it. I wasn't going to have a pedicure done because when I had the blisters under my toenails from our trip in Feb. I ended up losing my nails and they looked really bad. :sad2: I decided to just have the pedicure without doing my nails when the girl asked me if I wanted her to fix my toenails. I had a hard time understanding her as she spoke Chinese, but when I finally figured it out I said sure. Well did you know they can put on acrylic toenails, how knew?:confused3 I guess I had never thought of it, but whoo hoo they do!:yay: Now I have freshly manicured toes for our trip.:cool1: I just won't tell David how much it cost to do it.:rolleyes1

Nicole, we don't mind you venting!:flower3: The guy sounds like a real jerk!!

Lesa: acrylic toenails? I bet that's great in your situation. I've seen some on big toes that must have been fake, they were really long and pretty gross!

I have never had a pedicure. I really want to, I get such dry skin on my feet that my coworker who is black saw my feet and said, "Wow, I didn't know white people could get ashy skin." I never really thought about it until then, now I'm obsessed with it!

I kind of need to vent but if you have a weak stomach I'd suggest skipping the next paragraph because upon re-reading it's a little yucky.

But I still have that wart on my pinky toe and it's getting pretty painful (I know I know, I need to call the podiatrist and go back but I'm terrified of his scalpel!) and I'm afraid a pedicure would aggravate it somehow? I have this cream I was told to use for a month and it's been just over a month with no results. I'm starting to think it's not a wart. When Lyzzie was just a baby, I had a small lump on my ring finger that grew to the size of a small marble - it took surgery to remove it and they never did figure out just what it was. I'm afraid my toe thing is another one of those. I hope not, because whatever it was had a solid core that was attached to the bone in my finger and apparently was quite a bugger to remove - I had a hook-hand (due to the amount of stuff they removed at the knuckle) for several weeks after and thought it would never straighten out!

Ok I just re-read my post and it was pretty gross. Sorry if it was TMI!!

Nicole: What a jerk! I'm beginning to believe that MySpace is evil. I can't believe what some people will put up there. He sounds very immature and I hope things turn around for her.

It is great! You can hardly tell. It is on one of my big toes and both of the toes next to the big ones. When she first put them on they were really long and wicked looking. Brittany and her friend freaked out when they saw them. :scared1: :rotfl2: I told them I was going for a whole new look.:lmao: When Brittany had a wart on the bottom of her foot I bought the over the counter stuff that freezes it off. It took a few weeks of using it, but it did work.

Lesa: The podiatrist used that stuff on my toe first, and it only got rid of the top layers but there is still a hard little core deep in the toe. The cream I have now is some sort of topical chemotherapy agent (scary!) which says to apply with rubber gloves and keep covered at all times. It still isn't working, but the skin over the top of this hard little lump is baby-soft because it's new every few days!

You could always try the duct tape. That is what the doctor said to use on Britt, but she refused to wear the silver tape on her foot. The doctor said that is actually the best way to remove a wart.

HI, everyone!! I've been kind of busy with two sets of relatives visiting our area at the same time. Tonight my aunt, uncle and two sets of married cousins from Georgia were passing through on their way to a wedding this weekend. We rented a meeting room at one of our local restaurants and later went to my mom's house for cake and ice cream. It was my Georgia Aunt and Uncle's 50th wedding anniversary!!

DznyFan:: I've been reading your trip report as soon as I get home in the evenings!! I really enjoy it along with all the pics!!

Lesa:: I'm glad you were able to get acrylics for your toes!!!:woohoo:
I read about your problems with you kitchen floor tile. Not to worry, it'll get done when you get back from vacation!!

Linda:: Nathan and I cracked up over your posting of the new state mottos!! Wisconsin was one of our favs!!!
That is just so sweet of Kenny to feel the way he does about Mike....no Father's Day gift could mean more, I'm sure.:goodvibes

pozey:: I know you'll have fun at the Grand Canyon!! The Arizona sun can be brutal, be careful!!

lyzziesmom:: That's great news that Lyzzie gets to go to her GS Camp!! That would have really stunk for her to not be able to go.
Your riddle was hilarious!!:rotfl:

Yesterday Nathan had another appt. with the orthodontist. Actually, it was for Gary and I....the financial obligations and cost estimates for Nathan's braces. Turns out the Dr. believes it's best to wait 6 months. Nathan's permanent teeth are not developed well enough for braces!! I was sooo relieved to hear him tell us this, because I've been very concerned for that exact reason. So, Nathan will be going back for evaluation sometime in Dec.

It's about pumpkin time for me. Good night all!!

Hi everyone!!

This medication is keeping me up again but tomorrow is the last day for me to take it! It is some type of steriod that is supposed to help with inflammation. It did help with the pain but I still feel some, I just don't know what is going on with these teeth on this one side! The endodontist finds it so peculiar that it is on one side in the back of my mouth. He seems to think I grind/clench my teeth when I sleep and I realized that I do clench them when I sleep. I went and got a mouth guard from Target just to see if it would help, but the smallest size is too big :confused3 Anyway, its so weird.

I am so excited- my Grandma and Great Aunt are coming tomorrow!! I can't wait to see them. Jeremiah is even coming home early tomorrow and taking off Friday so it will be a long weekend too:love:

DznyFan, thank you so much for the postcard!!! It really made my day, and its hanging on my refridgerator as we speak :flower3: I'm really enjoying your trip report...You are inspiring me to write one when we come back from our Sept. trip, but I think I'll do it your way and post it on here!

Good morning, Crew!! Well, it's Thursday and in a couple of days a few of us are going to be leaving for vacations. (Not me, however.)
How about a sweet treat from the Main Street Bakery? I'm going to have a Chocolate Croissant!!:goodvibes

I hope you all have a Thrilling Thursday!!!

Good Morning Everyone!

Dznyfan, I got your postcard. Thank you!!!

Lyzziesmom, I would try the duct tape like Lesa suggested. If that doesn't work, then I would go to the doctor. Mike had a wart like thing on his thumb when we first met. He decided to cut it off! :scared1: I worked, but GROSS!!!

Ashley, have a great time with your family!

I am so sad this morning. Our kitten died. :guilty: We have no idea what happened. We didn't get home until late last night and she was acting sleepy. She didn't want to eat, but I figured it was because she wasn't hungry. Mike found her this morning. I feel like it is completely my fault. :sad1:

Britt's ortho did the same thing. He kept putting it off saying her teeth weren't ready yet. It ended up being over a year from the initial consotation before she got them. He just said at the last visit she should be getting them off about 6 month early. She is very excited.

Yes, my toes look better, but if only there was something I could do about the huge ugly sores on my face and shoulder. People keep looking at me like I'm a battered wife.:scared: I took the girls out for lunch yesterday and the waitresses eyes kept wondering to my face. I can only imaging how she thought it happened.:rolleyes1

Oh Amber, I am so sorry about your kitten! :sad1:  It was nothing you did or didn't do. She was just probally sick and you didn't know. Isn't this the kitten you found on your porch or something? Again, I'm so sorry!:grouphug:

Yes.

She had been fine. She was gaining weight and starting to run around. I just don't know what happened all of a sudden.

last night it was funny. we were sitting on the front porch and Kenny was wanting to give Mike his Fathers day present. Mike says..but I'm not your father...Kenny speaks up... yeah, but YOU'RE the one that cares and makes sure I'm taken care of!!!!:cloud9: it was so sweet. It is awesome b/c it just makes Mikes day...Kenny sees how it really is.

Kenny is soo sweet!! I bet Mike just melted!

That's great that you get to wait! The longer they can hold out before they get them the better. Briana had braces twice, Matt has had them and needs them again but with Nick he waited and he will only need to wear them once:thumbsup2

Thanks for breakfast Donna!!

I am so sad this morning. Our kitten died. :guilty: We have no idea what happened. We didn't get home until late last night and she was acting sleepy. She didn't want to eat, but I figured it was because she wasn't hungry. Mike found her this morning. I feel like it is completely my fault. :sad1:

I am so sorry!! I'm sure it was NOTHING that you did. You loved her and took care of her. She was probably sick when she came to you. Think of it this way....she died knowing she was loved!! No one, human or animal, can really ask for more!

Today is the first day of my summer vacation:woohoo: Lilly is having her 3 month pictures taken today. Then Matt has a dentist appt this afternoon. I need to work around the house. I don't want to come back to a messy house. Do you suppose I should start packing yet??:confused3

Have a great one!!

yes, he's very lucky...we both are! yes, that is definitely the best way, not to talk bad about the other parent. It makes it so hard when he comes back from his dads and he fills his little head w/total bs:sad2: He sits there and tells Kenny he wishes he could see him more but Mike and I won't let him:mad: when HE just took me to court to get his child support lowered $200 a month AND changed his visitation to see him LESS... he was allowed to get him every TH night to Fri and every other weekend TH-Sun... now he only wanted the every other but even only making that Fri-Sun... but I love that since I don't have to worry about him and miss him as much! eventually he'll probably drop out of his life like he did his other son. He doesn't ever come to any of his games or anything unless he has one while he's w/him on that weekend...so far that has only been once during soccer!

I read a blog that my SIL's husband wrote on Myspace, and he makes me so angry!!!! I hate how he blames everything on her and doesn't want to take any responsbilty for his actions. I've never been on myspace:rolleyes1 but vent away!!! sounds like a real jerk!! Sorry Nicole:hug:

Tonight I took the girls and I to have manicures and pedicures done.
Lesa that is so cool. that will sure make you feel better!

Ok I just re-read my post and it was pretty gross. Sorry if it was TMI!!
 nah..not TOO gross ;) I bet the duct tape would work..they say it smothers it so it can't breathe and it dies... I've only had one on my foot and it was right when I met Mike. It would just hurt!!! He had me put clear fingernail polish on it a few coats every night. same thing...keeps it airtight and kills that area. then peel it off before putting more on and it takes that dead skin off until you can get down to the core and it'll go away...I'm sure the otc kind would be faster but I was afraid that would hurt:rotfl:

Oh no!!! Sorry Lesa! My neighbor went to the er for her leg and the nurse asked her "what REALLY happened??" looking at her DH:eek: oh please...she would knock HIM out:rotfl2: it is crazy what people can think when they don't know you! Hope it heals soon!
