Who here is not in the "clique" like me? Part 4

Good morning, crew!

It looks like everybody had busy and productive weekends!

Lyzziesmom - you got a mouse! Oreo - how cute! Sounds like a fun weekend of mouseshopping. $500 for a puppy in a pet store??? That's ridiculous. But... one of my soapboxes is dog breeding (actually overbreeding) and congenital health problems associated with that and backyard breeders... for that kind of money, a puppy should be coming from a show breeder who screens their animals for health problems. Oh my God here I go... I'll stop now......

Pozey - the aquarium - what a GREAT idea for birthday parties!!! Sounds like you all had a lovely time, and yesterday was a picture perfect photography day!

2X - how LOVELY to hear from you! I was so excited to see you (albeit briefly) here! Of course you're still welcome!

Donna - breakfast in Italy looks devine!

Michele - we need pics!

Has anybody been watching the "Planet Earth" series on Discovery on Sunday nights? (have I already asked this? - my memory isn't so hot lately). It's so incredible.

Hope ya'll have a great Monday!

good morning glories~~~~~

it's the long lost non-cliquer----hopefully I am still welcome.??:confused3

Things are still going about the same with all of my issues, but we are moving in the right direction, I think. I won't bore you with details.
I just wanted to pop in and say hello.

Seems as though I missed some very important birthdays!!!!

HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY TO MISS LESA AND MISS SHERRI!!!!

Here's a little something for Lesa that I know she enjoys, since she is probably all caked out---

and for Sherri---

and for Little Miss Courtney!!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY PRINCESS COURTNEY!!!! (a little late, too--sorry)

I hope you all enjoyed your special days!!

One fun thing I did yesterday----I went to the Fox Theater to see Chicago. It was wonderful. Our seats could have been a bit better, but I got the tickets a little late, but they were still good, just up a bit higher than I wanted. The singing and dancing were excellent!!! I don't know how they can keep up the stamina throughout the entire show. I would have been on the floor out of breath!!!

Everyone have a great Sunday and hugs to all!!!

So much to catch up on, I haven't had the time, but I did catch the yummy desert 2x shared with me on our convention.:cheer2: It tastes as good as I remember!

2x...I'm sorry you still don't have the insurance stuff resolved, but at least it is heading int the right direction. It can be so frustrating, especially since you are right smack dab in the middle of a treatment. Sending good thoughts your way.:wizard: It sounds like you had a lovely time at the show.:)

Saturday turned out to be pretty busy for us. First I went to a jewelry party with my neighbor and spent $30 I didn't need to spend. I was at least able to contain myself and only buy one necklace. Then we ended up going to Cheeseburger in Paradise for dinner because I didn't want to cook. Then we went to a Chicago Shamrox game, they play lacrosse. I found it really hard to follow where the ball was and therefore it was just o.k. to watch. We did have good seats though and the tickets were only $5 ea. so can't beat that. Yesterday I was not feeling so hot, so I didn't do much except do the dreaded grocery shopping. Dh took Maddie to fly a kite, and Brittany to play tennis. It was a beautiful day.

O.k. the much awaited part 4 of the sewing story.......

When I left off I had just finished figuring out how to thread the Barbie sewing machine. That was not any easy task mind you. You would think for a kids toy sewing machine it would be a quick boom boom boom and the damn thing is threaded, but nooooooooo...........The thread has to go in this hole up through that hole around this thingy and down through that thingy and then to top it off through a tiny microscopic hole in a needle that you can barely get your fingers to. Then you have to figure out how to get a bobbin thing up through the hole. It all was a bit complicated, but in the end I tackled the machine and won.;)

The next thing was trying to figure out the instructions on how to sew the two pieces together. On the instructions it says to put right sides of the material together. This stumped me for a bit, as how the heck was I suppose to know which sides were the right sides (if you remember correctly I did not pin the pattern to the material.) Then it said something about notching out something, but I didn't quite know what that meant, so I decided to skip it. How important could it be anyway. :rolleyes1

So I decide which sides I want to be the right sides (They all looked alike to me) so then I put the material up to the sewing machine and push the button.........off the machine takes like a bat out of hell.:scared1: I decided I had better figure out how to control the machine before I actually start sewing the actual skirt together.;) So I get a piece of scrap material and start to practice. It took awhile and I also put the little foot piece on the machine  which gave me two hands instead of one to guide the material along. :yay: After a bit of practice I think I finally have the hang of it and decide to bravely start the sewing of the skirt together.:cool2:

To be continued..........:dance3:

Donna: that breakfast looks divine! I must admit, I was so focused on the scenery that I really didn't notice the actual food.

Speaking of food... remember how I mentioned my appetite has been down? I hopped on the scale this morning and I'm down almost 9 pounds from last week, just from eating less. I've got on these new linen pants that I bought a couple weeks ago, they were a little tight in the tummy and now they fit perfectly! :cheer2:

UnderDog: of course you're in, don't be silly! It's not like this is a clique or anything. ;)

...if a mouse can fit its head through something it can contorte the rest of its body/skeleton to fit through the opening as well.

That is so true. I used to have a pet ferret, and those buggers can REALLY squeeze. We used to put out a paper towel tube for her, and she could go 1/2 was inside it and then turn around and come back out, so her head & her butt would both be at the same end. It was so neat to watch! But she was a little thief and would steal and hide anything she could get her little paws on!

Amber: I can totally sympathize with the in-law situation. The last several times we have told Lyzzie's grandparents & dad that we'd be at WDW, they decided to come with us for the ENTIRE time, even when I clearly said they could come meet us for DINNER. It was nice for Lyzzie to see them but it really ruined MY vacation. So now we just don't tell them. Somehow they usually find out, but at least that's after the fact and I'd rather deal with the guilt over the phone & email than in person. It sounds cruel, but really... they haven't been here since she was 5 (and that was only their 2nd visit, her dad's first), it's their turn to visit her. I'm not giving up another vacation, this is MY time to be having fun with MY family. Good luck!

Yolanda: good luck with the inspection and the move. We're going to miss you around here! I hope you can find a way to check in now & then.

Speaking of checking in...
2X!!! SO nice to see you, dahling! I know you've been having a rough time of it, but please do try to grace us with your presence now & then when you can. We've missed you!!

DznyFan: A whole lot of nothing, huh? Aaaaahhhh... Sounds like a perfect weekend. Yeah, I had to pick my jaw up off the floor when the pet store told us the price of those pups. They didn't even say if they were purebred! They looked like it to me, but I'm no expert. My mom's been scouting the pet rescue places around town but we need a gentle puppy and those are hard to find as rescues. I did some research & passed on the info to her about when the Humane Society does adoptions at Petco so she doesn't have to go all the way across town to the Missouri side - which she won't do.

I'd better get some work done before the paperwork piles up. Later, alligators!

Has anyone heard from sewer or April or Sherri lately? I hope everything's ok.

My MIL called last night and thinks they will be coming to WDW for a couple days. She is suppose to call tonight and let us know which days. I'm not looking forward to seeing them. That sounds bad, but the guilt trips that Mike and I have been given are unreal. They are still upset we aren't going to their house for vacation. I swear if it's not one thing it's another.

Sorry to hear your still having family problems. It sounds like you and your DH just need to sneak off next time and not tell anyone. I hope you have a good time, and don't worry about making them all happy, just make sure you and your DH have a good time.;)

Good Morning everyone!

Lyzziesmom- I love the name Oreo for the mouse. Too cute!

Well tonight the people who are buying our house are doing a final walk through. I hope everything goes well since they've been kind of a pain in the behind to work with! :headache: Just a reminder I'll be MIA for a little while while I transition to my mom and dads and then on to West Virginia starting this Friday. I'll try to pop in here and there if I can, but I'll for sure be up and running by May 20.

Well, I'd better go wake up my kiddo for school and grab some grub! Have a great day all!
Good luck with the walk through and the whole transition of moving. It will be nice once you can put it all behind you and settle into your new home. :grouphug:
Has anybody been watching the "Planet Earth" series on Discovery on Sunday nights? (have I already asked this? - my memory isn't so hot lately). It's so incredible.

Hope ya'll have a great Monday!
I hope you don't have to cancel you scuba dive, it really sounds like a lot of fun. I love the Planet Earth series. If anyone has Comcast you can get some of it on the ON Demand. They really did a great job on the whole series.

Well I am waiting to hear back from DH. He told me he didn't request the dates off for our trip in June. He is not sure if he will be able to have the whole 2 weeks off and has been putting it off because his boss can be a jerk even if he wants 2 hours off. I need to make the plane reservations and I told him I was making them today with or without him. Well he was right, he gave it to his boss and his boss saw that it was for 2 weeks and told DH he didn't have time to discuss it with him now, in a not so nice tone. So I guess we'll see.:guilty:

Lesa, the suspense is killing me!!

Sorry, I tried to write it in a one parter, but there was just too much to add in.;)

A mouse..........{shiver}:scared1: You should have said something sooner, I had a few living in the garage you could have had for free.:rotfl2:

Amber, I hope your trip works out with your inlaws! Sorry to hear of the troubles!

Lyzziesmom - gentle and puppy is kind of an oxymoron, regardless of where puppy came from. Do you have any idea what kind of dog you want? (specific breed, or mutt?) If you're looking for a specific breed, there should be rescue groups in your area specializing in different breeds. Many times, a good rescue organization will 'match' a dog to a family based on profile and dog's personality. Yes, there are some problem dogs out there, but there's a lot of good ones, too. We're on our 2nd rescue Golden. Our first came into our home when Erin was almost 2 - he was 2 1/2 when we took him in - and he was the PERFECT dog for our family. We lost him when she was 12, he was almost 13. Our current monster came to us 4 years ago. He was questionable at first (bad doggy manners), but over time with some consistency in his life he developed manners and some self-control. It took about a year to get him where he needed to be - with a giant 120 lb dog, that's important!! Although many times the rescue groups won't know the dog's background, if they're a good group and know what they're doing, they will have an idea of the dog's personality, including quirks and possible bad habits. Good luck!!

Oh, Lesa - I hope your DH's time off works out!!!

DznyFan: I've tried telling my mom all those things you mentioned about a dog (excellent points, BTW!) but she just doesn't listen. She just wants something small and cute, that will fit through the existing cat door. A dog that is good w/kids and won't run away, and won't bite, and likes to play and also to cuddle and watch tv. Basically... the perfect dog. She is describing the dog we had years ago... a mini doxie, just like the one I found at the pet store. *sigh* it's never going to happen.

Gotta go, lunchtime.

maybe there's a doxie rescue in your area. The perfect dog is hard to find - but CAN be found!

Pozey - the aquarium - what a GREAT idea for birthday parties!!! Sounds like you all had a lovely time, and yesterday was a picture perfect photography day!
The aquarium was great. Everyone loved it. And yes, yesterday was perfect for photography!! Beautiful day!

I almost had to cancel my scuba lessons and Epcot dive due to schedule conflicts with the other members of my family for the upcoming weekends. I think I have it worked out, but don't know for sure yet...
I hope that you won't have to cancel your scuba lessons and dive! I was over at my dive instructing neighbors yesterday. Chase had to sell them some cookie dough!!

Has anybody been watching the "Planet Earth" series on Discovery on Sunday nights? (have I already asked this? - my memory isn't so hot lately). It's so incredible.

Hope ya'll have a great Monday!
I've seen a little bit of the show on the Discovery High Def channel. It is incredible.

omg... good luck Amber! As if you don't have enough to worry about! I'd have to tell them that the road travels both ways, but I don't think you'd want them to come up:rolleyes1 ;)

Well tonight the people who are buying our house are doing a final walk through. Just a reminder I'll be MIA
Good luck and we'll miss ya!

2x!!!! So glad to see you pop in!

I've seen sewer post on other threads..hope all is ok!

Sherri and April... I guess I'm gonna send the huntin' dogs out soon!!!

It was basically birthday central for the pozey crew this weekend. Saturday, we had a party for both Colton and Courtney. We went to the Oklahoma Aquarium.
that sounds awesome:cloud9: yes, sounds great for photos!!

Linda- I say go on the cruise!!!:boat: That is a tough decision to make though.
I'm still banging my head on what to do:sad2: then I see this thing at the top of our screens Universal for $86:rolleyes1 that sounds good too:confused3 I just don't know what to do... I guess we could have worse problems to worry about...but you'll have that ;)

I did a whole lot of NOTHING this weekend. I worked on a document I'm preparing for my Disney clients (a first-timers guide, if you will) that outlines a lot of information on going to WDW. I almost had to cancel my scuba lessons and Epcot dive due to schedule conflicts with the other members of my family for the upcoming weekends. I think I have it worked out, but don't know for sure yet...

Michele - thanks for the new pics - she is just precious!

Linda - tough choices, and so much stress - having to choose from WDW, cruise, Universal.... :lmao:

I know it...I think I better see how this house selling stuff goes before I make any major decisions...so my mind is in the right spot instead of too busy making big plans;)

Kenny came home w/his latest school pix. I wasn't planning on buying any since they do school pix at the beginning of the year too...but the I saw them and just couldn't resist.... I had to buy them all:rotfl:

Irish food is one of my food weaknesses! What I wouldn't do for some Irish Potatos!

Linda, Kenny's pic is ADORABLE!!!!

Michele, that Lily is a doll!!!!

Lesa, you are killing us!

Lyzziesmom, I'm with Dznyfan, dogs are a unique purchase. A rescue group or a reputable breeder is the way to go. We got Sassy through the Humane Society and Minnie was a stray. If your mom isn't willing to work to get her dog to be perfect it isn't going to work. I love Pomeranians, and all the ones we have had have been great with kids but you never know with any breed exactly what the outcome is going to be. The way a dog is raised and the time spend socializing and training is going to make a huge difference. One thing she might do is check local classifide ads, some owners will adopt their dogs out if they are moving and I have a few friends who have had luck with that.

Dznyfan, your new Disney TA thing sounds like its taking off!

Good morning!!! It's time to rise and shine!! :sunny: Yesterday was a beautiful day here in Illinois!!! I'm ready for the warm weather!!:beach:

How about a little trip to the Wilderness Lodge for breakfast?? I'm going to have a Western Omelet; care to join me?pirate: princess:

I hope everyone has a Totally Tiggeriffic Tuesday!!:tigger: :tigger:
