Resort Thread Disney's WILDERNESS LODGE

Is there anyone at Wilderness Lodge currently that can confirm if outdoor seating area for Roaring Fork is still closed? TIA!
Not there, but someone posted this picture on FB today and stated the outdoor seating is still closed.

My first stay here will be the end of September/beginning of October. We have water view rooms and I requested a “waterfall” view as it looks like some rooms overlook it. Hopefully the exterior work won’t impact us by then.

Scaffolding Erected and New Carpets Debut at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge

When visiting Disney’s Wilderness Lodge today, we noticed that the construction is primarily focused on the Copper Creek Villas.

Work is currently focused on the first and second floors.

Scaffolding has also been erected as construction crews are painting the exterior.

While work continues on the Copper Creek Villas, it appears that things have wrapped up at the Cascade Cabins.

The last time we checked in, scaffolding covered the side of the building.

As you can see, however, the construction equipment is still on site.

At this time, Disney has not announced a completion date for the Wilderness Lodge refurbishment.

However, Work is expected to continue through September.

Is the a chance that you may get a room that has construction equipment outside your balcony?
Yes if you are staying in the Copper Creek DVC side of the main lodge but it is almost done. Did you check all the pics that @mrsap posted. The last couple show the scaffolding is mostly down.

Note: not to say that they could not find a reason to add scaffolding if they need to fix something but normally they don't put it up, take it down, and then put it back up again.

What has Disney done if you have a balcony room, but you can’t really use it because scaffolding is in front of the balcony?

Nothing, and no one has indicated you can't use the balcony except when they leave a flyer, and place a sign on your balcony door. Only thing to prevent you from unitizing the balcony would be when they are standing on your Balcony to paint. And that is only between 9 AM - 5 PM. They can put up, and remove the scaffolding in a couple of days.

There is one specific area over Roaring Fork that has had scaffolding on a very small area for many weeks over the resort rooms and not on the CCV side of the building. I am not sure if that small section has even been removed at this point. Maybe someone will post an update.

Thanks for the photos, mrsap! I am hoping the new carpeting will have some hidden Mickeys in it, like BR. I like the colors though.

Staying at WL for the first time next month and will have 2 ECVs. Is it better to take the bus or boat to MK?
The Red Flag boats run between the WL, and MK. They have (2) type of boats. Smaller launches, and bigger Cruisers (enclosed Cabin) with outdoor seating to the front, and rear of the main cabin. They normally alternate the boats on the Red Flag line.

The Disney buses are all capable of carrying (2) ECVs with ease and there is a bus to MK as well as the other (3) parks.

The large boats will take ECV's easily. You would just drive them on and drive them off. The buses take a lot longer to load and unload. Either one would work. There is a limit of two ECV's on a bus. The boat would hold a lot of ECV's.

If I was using an ECV then I would take the boat. :)

Third Floor of Copper Creek Villas Closed at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge as Refurbishment Continues

Crews are currently doing repair maintenance and painting the exterior of the building. During this time, the sidewalk that runs beside the building is closed for guest use.

A sign in front of two elevators announces closure of the 3rd floor for refurbishment at Wilderness Lodge.

The entirety of the third floor is also closed-off to guest access at this time. The sign reads “Please Pardon our Pixie Dust” as the “3rd floor is temporarily closed for refurbishment.” Guests are encouraged to used the elevators near Roaring Fork to access open areas of the third floor in other sections of the building.

Excellent—ty is is what we were wondering. We’ve taken the ECVs on one of the large boats when we went to Hoop Dee Doo. Am I correct that they alternate between the large and small boats in the morning? Also, do you happen to know when they start running for early entry?

3rd floor closed? Does that mean they are renting those rooms or does it mean those are closed for several hours?

No the 3rd floor rooms are not in the inventory. They have done each floor (1) at a time starting with the 7th and working their way down. Currency the entire 3rd floor is closed on the CCV (South Side of WL). Floors 4-7 are done.
