how does that work? If they have availability, you have to stay there and if they're sold out, then they offer the overflow? I've never used any of that stuff before! Maybe we'll have to stay at SOG 16-19th since they have it available and then move... Poly would be so great, but AK rates are pretty good! so are the mods... maybe a few nights at cbr and move to ak or poly...I hope poly has availability!! I'm so excited!! If sog makes your resv on a overflow, are you allowed to get the ddp? I was thinking maybe I should just go ahead and buy the dvc resale at okw, then we can stay there and get the ddp too...plus have plenty of room and a kitchen! :yay: I'm trying to tell Mike things w/o telling Kenny...I want to surprise him. I hope I can keep my mouth shut!!!:rolleyes1

Linda...the plan to stay at SOG and then check out on the 19th and into an overflow would be perfect...after the 19th they would go up. Bad news...no dining with the overflow rates. However...with all the money you save you'll have plenty of $$$ for dining. But... if you can get the DVC that would be great. Are the points outrageous during the Christmas season?

Also, you could try Disney directly and see what kind of package with dining that you could get...who knows maybe you'll have a pin to your name.

Hi again. We are at vero after a lengthy and expensive stop at ron jons we made it here.

I am so tickled I can make this work....it took me 20 minutes waiting for the nemo show and I never could manage it. 15 more minutes at Fantasmic last night and here I am!

Bree, Zach and Lilly flew home safely today...I have already heard from Bree, Lilly slept the whole flight.

Going to the pool now, will try to check in later.

Have a great one!!

Hey Michele! Glad you made it to Vero. Hope you have a relaxing second half of your trip. Can't wait to see Lilly's pictures when you get home.

I'll have to call and find out:banana: that would be so awesome. The ddp is nice, but we can take it or leave it. Staying at SOG and or getting an overflow rate would be just fine ;) Actually the dvc points didn't seem to be that bad...esp. for the first 1/2 of the trip!:cool1: w/the dvc I think you can do the ddp... I'm so excited!!!:dance3:

if we stayed the 16-26 it would be 250 points in a 1 bedroom...not bad!!!

if we stayed at sog until 20th...it would only be 178...the killer is those Fri and Sat at 41 points ea.

ok, where is the pouty smilie...no pin at wdw:rotfl: I talked to a super nice young lady though and she said I wouldn't be getting any b/c they didn't have an email address for me!!! SO I got that problem fixed real quick!:woohoo: now to see what sog says tomorrow and start making some real plans:cool1: I'm so excited!!! AS if you guys couldn't tell:rolleyes1 ;)

Good evening my Cliqueless pals! We are back from Omaha and had a great time, the girls were SO good. I only had to go into "mommy mode" once, to yell at them to quit yelling :headache: because the walls were thin at the Super 8 Motel we ended up in. We got a little lost in Downtown Omaha and the nearby hotels were sold out due to some College Bowl playoffs going on (???) but we found a room in nearby Council Bluffs IA and it was actually pretty nice. No pool, but we were only 5 minutes from the zoo and the room was clean and breakfast was free. The Omaha zoo was AWESOME, we actually went back for a few hours this morning and still didn't see everything but had tons of fun. Definitely worth the trip. The weather was perfect, we couldn't have picked a better time. It was forecasted to be 89 but it was cloudy and felt more like 76-78, just so nice. I of course took a ton of pictures and will put some up soon, maybe tomorrow because I'm pretty pooped today.

Yes, it is rather quiet here today.

That's because I wasn't here, I'm sure. I type everyone's eyes off!

Michele....Gary just got a new Blackberry that has a GPS; it's a hoot!! We were in my MIL's apartment complex today. As we were in the elevator going up to the 3rd floor; it told us we were in her town, traveling at 2 mph. It failed to mention we were traveling vertically!!!!:rotfl2:

That is hilarious! I have no idea how those things work, but 2mph sounds like a pretty speedy elevator.

There's a guy/friend of ours whom we used to work with (back in my 'other' life as a musician) who is doing a documentary on us - and where we are now. We filmed an interview last night.

Do we have a celebrity in our midst and we didn't even know?? Or did we know and I somehow missed it? Let us know when/where we can see this documentary, it sounds really neat! :happytv:

Gary and Nathan are going to a slot car race later this afternoon. I may take the time to look for a new bathing suit and some shorts that fit.:scared:

Good luck with that - I'm not sure which is harder to shop for. I have 2 pairs of shorts, they are 2 different sizes but both fit ok. They both are a little shorter than I'd like but they're not daisy dukes or anything, thank goodness! I don't look right in the long bermuda style, but I have such a hard time with shorts because my legs are long but my middle is thick. :sad2: I usually stick with capris but in WDW shorts are a must.

Well, now my Vegas trip is up in the air. My cousin has to work those days, she is a flight attendant. So I have no clue what I'll end up doing.

Oh I hope you end up being able to go! A flight attendant, how fun. I used to want to do that, but my mom always called it "a waitress in the sky." Nice. I hope you can work something out. I'd go with you if I could!

I am so excited I can't stand it... Mike told me to book us a trip for wdw for over Christmas!!!!!!:cool1: :woohoo: :yay: I'm so excited I can hardly contain myself!!!

Wow, how fun! You lucky duck. I'm sure you'll have a great time, isn't it so fun to be planning a WDW trip again? First DVC, now this... you must be doing something right. ;) :thumbsup2 (thumb)

We are 16-22th right now but I'm thinking of changing to 18-25...

I'd go with 18-25 because it's one day more. :rolleyes1

we'll definitely be there:cool1: I'm looking at trying 16-26th...:woohoo: I'll have to talk to his dad though:rolleyes: b/c he's supposed to have him x-mas eve... shouldn't be a problem though.

Eh, if Kenny's dad is anything like I'm imagining, he'd be relieved not to have him on xmas eve... can get away with spending less on him that way.

On our way out of the neighborhood on Friday evening, I noticed a swingset in a driveway a few streets down. I called my parents and they went over, it had a FREE sign on it so they picked it up, cleaned it up & painted it (purple & green - Tink colors!), and put it in our backyard. The girls are so excited! It's just a rickety old metal set like we had when we were kids, but they love it. Emma had me put her on a swing (it was a little too high - I've since lowered it) and she was really shaky and unbalanced but insisted that I get behind her and push. So I did, very gently, and of course she slid off. The chain hurt her hand - not badly - and she gave up and came in to watch tv. :lmao: I'll have to get some plastic chain guards, but otherwise it's perfect.

We stopped at a fireworks store today and picked up a bag full of sparklers, jumping jacks and other little ground stuff. I'm so excited, and I hadn't realized it but it was Lyzzie's first time picking out fireworks! They are illegal here in KS, even sparklers :confused3 but you see kids with 'em all the time. I looked last year in MO but couldn't find any. We're going to have a ton of fun, and I think we bought enough for the next couple of years too. Oops!

Sorry so long, I had a lot to say! Hi to UnderDog, Amber, MICHELE!!, Lesa, and everyone else.

It does sound like you had a great trip! I can't wait to see pix!

Yay for the swing set...well except poor Emma hurting her poor little hands:grouphug:

I must be doing something right:confused3 or Mike just realized that the mouse just is NOT going anywhere and gave up even thinking for one moment that it will:lmao: :rotfl: there were enough points for a week and I was seriously going to grab it b/c it was a great deal and he said no b/c we might as well get enough for 2 weeks:lmao: WHOO HOO!!!

I'll have to upload some of Kennys pix to photobucket...I did upload pix to post a "for sale" thing of the double:woohoo: we put a "for rent" sign up today since Mom will be going soon:yay: and my renter comes over and tells me his buddy wants to rent the other side:cool1: COOL!!! So, we'll see how that goes, that would be just too easy!

Here are the pix I took today of it...

during the ice storm 2 years ago I had a huge tree go down right across the driveway blocking our cars in the garage:sad2: that was not cool!

Hi Linda! Emma's hands are fine, I just ran cold water over them & she was good as new. You know how those old metal chains can be, if you slide just the tiniest bit they sting. WOW, either Mike is learning to love the Mouse or you've really got him trained well... what's your secret? ;)

The house looks really nice! Why do I have the Brady Bunch theme running through my head now? :lmao:

Hey at least the tree blew down in front of the garage and not on top of it.

It was so funny after we checked into the motel, I called my mom and told her we were in Council Bluffs, IA - she said, "Oh no, did you get lost?" She called back later to say she looked at the map and realized how close we were. But it was funny because I was trying to explain the motel to her and I ended up saying, "Just imagine a Super 8 in Council Bluffs, Iowa and that's pretty much right." Actually it was better than I expected, the carpet and tv seemed new, everything was clean and the beds felt pretty new too. All they had were smoking rooms but it did not smell (the hallway did though, ick!) and there were no burns on anything like I was imagining. It was quiet and clean... but I must say I will really appreciate SSR even more in a couple of months!!

Hey there strangers:grouphug: :cloud9: man its been crazy!! I've been downloading all the t-ball pix and making cd's for all the parents of their childs season... wow, that is work!!!

I am so excited I can't stand it... Mike told me to book us a trip for wdw for over Christmas!!!!!!:cool1: :woohoo: :yay: I'm so excited I can hardly contain myself!!!

I'll be back, I've missed so much!

Woo-Hoo!!! Linda gets a Disney trip!!!:woohoo: :yay: :dance3: :cheer2:

lyzziesmom:: Welcome back!! I'm glad to hear you all had a good time!!! Can't wait to see the pics!! The girls' swingset sounds cute!! Sorry Emma hurt her hands.
When we were in Mo. a few weeks ago, Gary and Nathan had to stock up on the fireworks, too.

Michele:: I'm glad Bree and Lilly made it home safely. Have fun at Vero!! It's just so much fun hearing a live report from you!!!:yay: :yay: :yay:

Well, my shopping trip was kind of a dud. I found one pair of shorts and no swimsuit. Oh well, I'm shaped like a pear and can't find anything that looks decent. I guess I'll just make do with what I have.

it must have been the black and lacy all of you suggested:rotfl: :lmao: actually he just keeps saying, there are worse things you could be addicted too:rotfl: :woohoo: but that is so true. Of all the addictions some people have... I'd say Disney is a pretty harmless one ;) well...other than how it effects the checkbook:rolleyes1 but we won't go there:rotfl:
You probably have that going through your head b/c it was built back in the 70's:laughing:

Glad Emma is doing better. It sounds like you found a good place and great location to stop. I bet SSR will be so nice!!!

Woo-Hoo!!! Linda gets a Disney trip!!!:woohoo: :yay: :dance3: :cheer2:
