What?? Doesn't everyone get up at 5:15am and make French Toast or Mickey waffles for breakfast!!:confused3 :rotfl2:
Have fun at the parade today!!!

Your very welcome for the breakfast. Nathan thought the cave was awesome!! (His words.) We ended up going to Onondaga (less commercialized). I asked him if it was as neat as he expected and he said it was much better than he had imagined!! He wanted us to take him to Meramac that day, too!! We told him we didn't think we could live through 2 caves in one day and promised to take him back another weekend.

Gary is outside mowing now and I haven't accomplished very much. I did make Nathan breakfast.
Need to run to the store today....I would like to grill something this afternoon if the rain holds off. We're out of Diet Coke, too!! :scared1:

Hey, girls, talk about frizzy/curly hair.........nothing like a damp cave to bring out the worst in naturally curly hair.

Well, I really need to get motivated......I really do.

Glad Nathan enjoyed the cave. Hey...did you get any pictures? We want to see your frizzy hair.:lmao:

We have mowing on the list for today plus I need to plant one little flat of flowers. I'm shooting for noon...I would say that doing nothing until noon is pretty darn lazy of me.:rolleyes1 Well, I did start a couple loads of laundry...:laundy: :laundy:

I'm going to have BBQ (pulled pork) sandwiches today. We had burgers yesterday and BBQ chicken and patato salad on Satuday. That's the whole Memorial day weekend of menus.

Go get some diet coke!:car: :drive: I'm still drinking my morning coffee (with half n half).;)

Donna: Now I'm wishing I had planned to go to a cave this weekend too. It sounds like you guys had a lot of fun! My mom loves caves, and when I was a kid we always took a summer vacation. About 1/2 the time we took road trips, and no matter where we went, we always seemed to find a cave on the way. Once when I was about 13 we went to Carlsbad Caverns... wow that place is HUGE. It really puts all other caves to shame. On our 2004 cruise we went to a cave on an island (forgot which one). That one was neat because the cave was actually above ground inside a mountain, so it was not cold. It was weird being inside a hot cave! It had a tram inside which was really nice. Lyzzie was about 5 and she was afraid at first... turned out she thought the stalagtites were going to fall on her. Once I explained (with the help of our tour guide) that they were stuck tight on the ceiling, she had a great time.

I love Sbarro's pizza! We don't have one in our mall here, but there's some other pizza place that is similar. Mmmmm, now I'm in the mood for bad greasy mall pizza.

Which reminds me, I have good news! Remember I had mentioned a while back that my current meds decrease my appetite? I am down another 5 lbs, for a total of 15 lbs lost in the last few months. It's not a huge amount, but it's a great start especially considering that I'm not even really trying! I still eat pretty much whatever I want to (life is too short to deprive myself of the really good stuff), I'm just not usually hungry enough to have very much of anything. Just a taste and I'm good. I certainly hope this continues! I have already noticed a few of last year's skirts are riding quite low on my hips this year. Yay!!

The kids have decided to have a "movie day" today. They are camped out in the living room watching one movie after another. That's fine with me, it gives me time to get things done - like laundry and DISing - and keeps them busy and happy. I think I'll have to kick them outside for a while soon.

One more funny thing... Emma has one of those little plastic slide/cube playsets in the backyard. Yesterday the kids came running and told me they can't play on it because it has bunny poop on it! I'm imagining the rabbits hopping up and sliding down at night, having a sort of bunny-slide party. How funny!

Actually, we did get pictures....of the cave and the hair!!! If I were a picture posting expert, I would post them. Maybe later.:rolleyes1
I do need to get to the store, but I'd have to get dressed first.

lyzziesmom:: :woohoo: :woohoo: Congrats on your weight loss!! Carlsbad Carverns sounds awesome!!
Bunny poop on the slide!!! I don't suppose the bunnies like to clean up after themselves.

Have a great day everyone, really gotta run!!!

lyzziemom...where is Carlsbad cavern?

It's in New Mexico. We were on our way to visit my aunt and planned a stop at the caverns. It's a national park, and I'm not positive but I want to say it's the biggest cave in the US. When you get to the end of the tour, there is this HUGE underground shopping area, complete with a food court. It really is amazing. In the middle of all this is the elevator to return to the surface. I believe the walking tour was about 2 hours - yes it's that big. At night, we went to this amphitheater just outside one of the natural entrances to the cave, and listened to a presentation about bats. At dusk, the bats started coming out of the cave - they were pretty far overhead and just looked like dark birds. At first there were just a few, but after a couple minutes the whole sky became black with the bats flying overhead, and the sound of their squeaks was deafening. It was an awesome experience. I'd highly suggest a visit to anyone who's never been.

Here's the "official" web page in case you're interested: http://www.nps.gov/cave/

That sounds really cool. I'm sure the boys would love it. I will have to pull out the old map and see how far it it...now that I know where to look. Thanks!
Oh...the bats sound slightly creepy.:scared1:

Hey, Lyzziesmom- femullet BAD! I'm going to try to get into my salon this week sometime. That's funny about Emma - sick Mickey, huh? Poor girl - I hope I didn't traumatize her too much!

Pozey - that's one nice tattoo Courtney has! Where'd she get that done?? :rotfl:

Donna - you've been taking pictures through my windows this morning? I fixed french toast, sausage and eggs. Not quite as healthy as your fruit option. I'll bet a damp cave brings out the frizz in the hair!

Hope everyone is having a wonderful Memorial day!

OH, I jump in anywhere and everywhere, and usually either get a laughy smiley, or get someone's panties bunched up.

Hi mattsdragon, welcome to the clique that's not a clique! There aren't any bunched up panties here - jump in anytime. It's nice to see someone new around here!

We are just sitting around waiting for pizza to come. One of my favorite movie quotes is very appropriate today (I think I've got it right, I might be a word or two off but am too lazy to actually look it up):

I did nothing all day, and it was everything I thought it could be.

Hello All!

Dznyfan, I had french toast this morning too. I just discovered Nutella this weekend and put that on top. OMG was it good! Not healthy at all, but the good things never are. :)

Ashley, glad there isn't anything wrong with your eyes. Hopefully, the drops will keep the pain away.

I am so tired. We spent today cleaning and decluttering.

I hope everyone had a good weekend.

Good morning, Crew!!! How about some French toast this morning? We can all meet at The Cracker Barrel for breakfast!! That's where we ate yesterday morning.:goodvibes

I hope you all have a wonderful Memorial Day!!

Donna - Hit the spot THANKS! :goodvibes

Hi Amber...hey nothing like decluttering! I finally got up off my bum and mowed while DH did the weedeating and whatever he does with the blower thingy. I also planted some flowers.

Hey DznyFan...so you had real french toast this morning...yum. You know Donna would never sneak around and get a picture from another source...she works hard getting those tables set and everything on nice and hot.:rotfl2:

Hmmm Underdog...I had a couple of cups last night but this morning I must had polished off about four. No wonder I was a little sluggish getting around.:surfweb: :rotfl:

Amber - Nutella on French Toast? I've never tried Nutella, but I think I'd like it - I may have to get some and try it.

Lyzziesmom - I got a kick out of Emma's smiley story... and no sliding on the slide because of bunny poop? Funny! :rotfl:

DznyFan: your itinerary sounds great! I wish I could go too. I know I know, I just got back not that long ago. But you know how it is, it feels like I've been back home forever already. I like how you leave room in your planning for the unknown - I always try to do that, but there is so much that we want to squeeze in that it doesn't always happen. It was really nice last time with just Lyzzie and I, we had a lot of flexibility which you just can't manage with a larger group and/or the DDP. I miss WDW!!

Lyzzie and I were just looking at some pictures from last year's family trip. It was really nice just looking at the pictures and reminiscing about all the silly things we did, and everything we look forward to for next time.

Is everyone ready to get back to real life tomorrow? Back to work and (for some of us) the kids back to school? Lyzzie has her last full day, and then Wed. is a 1/2 day and the last day of school. She was excited last week, but now that it's here she is pretty sad about it.

I have a cousin who is a pastry chef, He owns an Inn in Ithaca New York.
I was thinking you might like some tonight!

Enjoy!! Have a great Tuesday :cool1:

That looks like the best bedtime snack yet. I can't decide, and since it's virtual I'll take one of each! Except the fruity ones, we all know how I feel about those. (Why ruin a perfectly good dessert by putting fruit in it??)

Ahhhh, now that I'm nice and full of cakes and such, I'm off to bed. Hooty hoot, my friends!
