Who here is not in the "clique" like me? Part 4

Quick story from our cookeout on Sunday.......

I grilled close to 10 pounds of hamburgers. (I marinated it the night before) And probably 24 hot dogs.

So, anyway, I got paid two fantastic compliments - one spoken, one unspoken - by Chase (DS8).

For one thing, when we grill hamburgers and hot dogs, Chase generally goes for hot dogs. But this time, he wanted a cheeseburger.

The first - unspoken - compliment came when I saw him completely devour his cheeseburger. And I make MONSTER burgers.

The second compliment - spoken - came when he finished......he said "man dad......that blew McDonald's cheeseburgers away". :rotfl2: :thumbsup2

That's what a dad wants to hear.

pozey: Better than McD's? That is a great compliment from a kid!

I took Emma to get her hair cut after work today. I just couldn't stand her "scary hair" any more. I took her to a place that specializes in kids cuts - that's all they do - and she was great. They let her pick a video to watch and of course she chose Dora. She liked it so much that when it was time to go, she didn't want to leave because Dora wasn't over! I took before/after pictures:

It actually looked much worse before than it does in the picture. It was very straggly and even after brushing, she constanly looked like she just woke up. I think that longer style will be very cute on her once her hair thickens up, but right now it's still pretty thin so it just looked messy. And the "after" picture really doesn't do it justice either. The lady put so much detangler on Emma's dry hair, and then only partly blowdried it, that it now looks wet but feels sticky. But I must say the cut itself is really cute - it works with her natural curls to look curly rather than messy. I like it a lot! She really doesn't care one way or the other.

I have to go get Lyzzie out of the shower - I swear it's harder to get her out of there than it is to get her IN!

Absolutely. We had leftover cheeseburgers tonight. Chase had 1 and Colton had 2. And mind you......Each burger was probably no less than 1/3 pound.

CUTE pictures of Emma!!

Slow night for the cliqueless tonight, where did everybody go? If Emma were awake, she might think her scary hair scared everyone away! (Hey, if it works on the monsters...) ;)

I guess I do... hoot!

ETA: thanks pozey! I love her "camera smile"... I just have to break out the smile and she turns on the 1000 watts right away. Either that or runs away -- I have many pictures of the back of her head. Thank goodness for digital cameras!

Donna and Crew have a great day!!!!!!:goodvibes

Well, yesterday was Nathan's first appt. with the orthodondist. Gary worked from home yesterday, and when I went into Nathan's room to tell him goodbye
as I was leaving for work, he reminded me that I would see him at 4 o'clock. (That's when the appt. was scheduled.) According to the Dr., his problem is not so much of an underbite as his top teeth can't find a proper place to fit together with his bottom teeth. He is going to straighten the top teeth first.
Nathan has an appt. on Tues. for what they call the Records Appt.

Lesa:: Leroy & Stitch was a made for DVD movie that is totally forgettable. It just happened to be on the Disney Channel the other night.

pozey:: My compliments to the chef!!! Your burgers are better than McDonald's!!:woohoo: :woohoo:
Sounds like Colton is going to have an exciting week, what with visiting the Middle School and all. In the area where I live they call it Jr. High and I believe it starts in the sixth grade.

Nicole:: Sorry about your Olive Garden experience. I usually just love the Olive Garden!!
Yippee!! A new computer is on it's way!!!:surfweb: :surfweb:

DznyFan:: Two more days and you'll be in WDW!!! How exciting is that!! I don't have any advice for you on the counter service at DTD, we usually eat at RFC, too. I would look to see which is the least crowded perhaps.:confused3

lyzziesmom:: Quite a few years ago Nathan used to watch Dora in the mornings on Nick Jr. I could stand a half hour, I thought she was kind of cute. Swiper, no swiping!!!!!:rotfl2: :rotfl2:
I think Emma is as cute as a bug with her new do!!princess:
BTW....not to temt you or anything, but I've been getting some terrific Dings out of KC.:cheer2: :cheer2:

Underdog:: Thanks for the wonderful snacks!!! I think you are much more creative than I, btw!!!

With all of the talk of products for the frizzes I actually did buy some Sunsilk DeFrizz. i think it actually worked really well. Those types of products usually make my hair looks really oily, but I used it sparingly and it really did the trick. I still need a haircut and can't make up my mind where to go. I figure if I wait long enough, Melissa will be back from Maternity leave!!!:teeth:

I see by bowl of cereal is a red x; so I had better try to do a fix.

Have a great day everyone!!:sunny:

Good morning, Underdog!!!!

Has anyone heard from Linda??? I guess she's been a busy gal!!!:laundy:

Well, really must get going this time!! :wave2:

Good morning!

Today David has off. We are going to work on getting stuff ready for a garage sale on Friday.:headache: It's sort of a last minute thing as a realtor that sets up all the sub sales around here decided to set it up last week. I hope to get rid of some junk and make a bit of money for our trip. I just hate the prep work.:headache:

Donna.....Was it Lilo and Stitch?

Lizziesmom....Madison absolutely loved Dora. I think she still sneaks and watches it when no one is looking. She had a Dora birthday I believe for either 2 or 3 birthdays in a row. I will say Maddie learned quite a bit of Spanish from Dora.;) Backpack! Backpack!

Pozey....Your burgers sound divine! May I ask what you marinate them with?

Nicole...Good news on the computer coming!:surfweb:

Good Morning All!!

Nicole, congrats on the new computer.

Lesa, good luck with the garage sale.
There were three Stitch movies. Lilo and Stitch, Stitch the Movie, and Leroy and Stitch.

Lyzziesmom, Emma looks cute with the new do.

I have an interview later this week with a travel agency. Wish me luck! I will be doing it part time (from home).

Have a great day!!

Colton had an outstanding day yesterday.

Caution!! Caution!! Proud Parent Alert!!

Besides going to Celebration Station for 5th Grade day yesterday - in which all he could talk about was how he hung out with Brianna most of the time - they had their awards assembly.

Colton received a certificate for reading, plus another certificate for Choir. He also was give a "Character Kid" certificate.

Also, the Art teacher gives out a certificate to the one person he thinks is the most outstanding Art student. And Colton received that certificate - for the 3rd year in a row. And he received a certificate and a pin for the Presidential Award of Excellence (or something similar). I think this is given to students who received all A's throughout the school year.

All in all, he received 8 certificates and/or pins.

I am definitely proud of him. He works very hard in school. I just hope and pray that it continues throughout the rest of his schooling.

I used several things. First, I used a little bit of a dry rub that I use when I smoke ribs. I also added some Oklahoma Joe’s Grill & Seasoning Mix. I added a little bit of A-1 Steak Sauce and a little bit of Tabasco Chipotle Pepper Sauce. I mixed all that in with the meat and put it in a container and left in the fridge overnight.

Good morning kids! Just finished reading through last night's/afternoon's posts -

Lyzziesmom, those pictures of Emma are just too cute! The new haircut is adorable!

Pozey, compliments on the burgers - I'd say! (what's your secret?)

Nicole - a new computer - good for you! :cool1:

Underdog, that was a nice late-night snack - yum!

I haven't heard from Linda, either - she had that trip to KY over the weekend, but it's Wednesday! :confused3 Hope everything is OK with them!

So I went and got my hair layered last night, my usual hair person recommended someone else because she didn't have any time to fit me in her schedule - so I went to the other person - I told her what I wanted (just a few light layers cut into it) and as of this morning's bathroom time I am NOT HAPPY. I can't explain what she did with the sides (cut too much off the sides around my face), but I am SO frustrated. I wound up blowing it out straight (after I used curl shampoo/conditioner/mousse) and of course NOW it just looks like a big fuzzball. I don't DARE get any more cut off, I guess I'm just going to have to live with this until it grows out. Shoulda left it alone. Oh, I'm SO MAD.

Have a great day, everybody!

You have every right to be proud! Congratulations to Colton!
