DznyFan...Amber...lyzziesmom....

I must join you with the needle problem. I don't pass out but I do go white, cold and clammy, and sometimes see black and start to sweat...so I might as well pass out. With blood if they are quick and get it on the first try I'm ok. DznyFan...for the IV it's much better if they numb it first. I really do not have very many good veins for iv's and blood...darn. I usually feel the same with eyebrow plucking.:rotfl:
Needles don't bother me. I have a pretty high tolerance to pain.

I have O negative blood, so the Red Cross calls me to donate every 56 days. So far, I think I have gone over the 4 gallon mark.

You and my DH(although he's AB)! Glad there are some "troopers" out there! Is O- a universal doner?

I'm joining you too! Remember when I had my surgery last year, had to have my IV put in and cried like a baby!:rotfl: YM- I do the same as you, I don't pass out, just get all clammy and sweat. I have heard if you cough right before they put the needle in, it kind of numbs you. :confused3

That's great Pozey!!!:thumbsup2 (thumb) My dad used to give blood alot when he was younger but kind of stopped a while back. He liked getting a free tshirt! He is at the 2 gallon mark.

YOW! It's not the needle itself that bothers me so much, I just get very faint when blood is removed from my body. That and the sucking sound *shudder*.

Hey look at this: I found the perfect smiley for all our tooth-troubled Cliquelessers

Hey everyone----

your long lost cliqueless friend checking in. Time has just flown by, not to mention I have been more than overly tired. I have NOT been a hoot, by all means lately.
:wave2: Hi 2x2s!! :wave2:

Wow, I can't believe there are other people that have my same issue. I wasn't like this as a child. Then, I was about 16 and had to have blood drawn. They had trouble finding a vein and kept poking and poking. I finally passed out. I woke up and was mad that they didn't take the blood while I was passed out  They ended up taking blood from my hand. Since then, every time a needle touches me I pass out (I even got woozy when I had a TB test- and they only pricked my finger). I don't look at the needle, but as soon as I feel it :faint:

Amber...I'm with you...it's when I feel it! Mabye the process starts when I smell the alcohol or see some betadine. I almost passed out watching a feeding tube being placed during my intership...so I guess there's more to it than just the needle...but ohhhh that cold sensation of the needle.:scared: :faint:

You guys are creeping me out today, cut it out!!

I have good & bad news from my Dr. appointment today. I went to get refills on my pain meds & talk about switching my meds to something more effective. She refilled one, and discontinued my darvocet and gave me percocet instead (stronger), enough to get me through vacation. That's the good news. The bad news, which I expected, is that I'm building a tolerance to the meds which is why they're not working, so I'll have to go back to the pain management dr. next month to discuss new medication options. All that guy ever wants to do is send me to physical therapy, but hopefully he will be able to help me find something that works for me.

The other bad news is I have gained another 3 pounds in the last few months. :(

Well, fellow Okies - looks like we're out of school again tomorrow. If we get the 4 - 9" of snow they're calling for this weekend, it'll be out part of next week as well.

At this rate, I'm guessing the kids will go back to school in about June.

DznyFan: yikes that's a lot of snow! I haven't checked the weather lately so I didn't know about it... I hope all you Okies stay warm (and sane, with the kids home so much!)

Looks like summer vacation will be a week or MORE shorter! So far we owe five days after this week. If we are out some of next week that will be tacked onto the five. I heard Travis down play the storm a little...like maybe 2-4". I guess we will see.:rolleyes1

Yep, I heard that school was cancelled for tomorrow. And yes, they are predicting anywhere from 4 to 12 inches of snow over the weekend. Even without any snow over the weekend, if the temperature doesn't rise a little bit, this ice is never going to melt and they would be out of school part of next week too.

Maybe I need to call Travis and ask him directly! hee hee :cool1: I do have his number on speed dial you know.

Stay dry and safe! I bet the kids are loving this weather!!!:rotfl:

omg..I missed too much last night and today. We had auditors in today, and tomorrow so I could sneak in and read but had to watch myself;):rolleyes1

oh...add me to the list of those who pass out  I had to have a tooth pulled when I was a kid. He came at me w/those plier looking things and "night night" next thing I knew the nurse was yelling at me to breathe! Uhhh not good! Thankfully I've only had an IV twice, once when I was having Kenny, and once when I had surgery last year.

Hey pozey...I'm RH negative too. I don't think I'm O neg. though. Plus they don't want my blood...my iron is usually too low.

I sure hope you guys get a break on that snow...your poor kiddos won't get a summer break at all at the rate they're going!!

Yay Nicole...you got your Christmas card :) That's cool
