Who here is not in the "clique" like me? Part 3

Question for my fellow Oklahoma cliqueless friends......(and the ones up in Kansas as well)......

Are you guys ready for the "BIG ICE STORM"?? I have heard that the local media is getting people in a huge frenzy over the upcoming weekend weather. I've had people tell me that the local Wal Mart stores look like Christmas-time in the way that the lines are and the shelves being bare.

I realize we may get a good taste of winter weather this weekend.....but I find it hard to believe everything is just going to come to a grinding halt. :confused3 Maybe I will be wrong?

I hope the stories of Wal Mart aren't true. I have to stop at Wal Mart on the way home. For normal things -- shampoo, conditioner, milk -- basic things.

Okay......now I am hearing they are predicting something like 3 inches of ICE over the weekend. Places like Home Depot and Lowes are selling out of generators. Wal Mart sold out of water......

The end of the world!! :scared: (sarcasm)

Oh well.....I'm leaving now......to go to Wal Mart!! :scared1: :rotfl:

pozey: up here in KS I haven't heard anything about a big ice storm. Then again, I haven't watched today's weather. Last I heard, we are scheduled for some freezing rain this weekend. I hope that's all we get - we get a huge ice storm every couple years and it's awful!! My first winter here, in 2001 - after about 20 years in FL and TX - we had this huge ice storm and parts of the city lost power for weeks. The National Guard was sent in to clean up. It was very intimidating to a girl who hadn't had a real winter in 20 years!

pozey: good luck at WalMart!! Don't let anybody trample you - you know how the 'mob mentality' can get.

pozey: did you survive your WalMart run?

Emma is home!! She just loves her new Crocs! I had them on the table so she saw them right away when she came home, and she said, "Look! Shoes for me just like Mommy! For Disney World!" She is wearing them around the house and calls them her Mickey Cwocs. She said, "Mickey has no eyes, no nose, no mouth, no face... just ears." I missed her a lot - she's so cute! My mom told me that when they pulled up to our house, Emma said something about getting Mommy and going to the airport. That girl is ready to GO!

Awwww!!!She is so darn adorable!!!!

pozey.... wow, good luck! We had an ice storm 2 years ago:sad2: we had to go buy a generator. Mike did anyway ;) they finally got one at 3am ...people were waiting in line for like 12 hrs for the next load for a CHANCE to get one... It was horrible. Lost several trees at my duplex. One was laying across the whole drive way. 5 car garage and they couldn't get in/out of the garages at all. We cringe when we hear about ice storms!!! I worked in Vermont during an ice storm too.... no one had power for a month!!! it was unreal! Good luck and hope you survived Wal Mart:scared:

That does sound good!

Yes :thumbsup2
Here you go pozey....

I think you guys are going to drive me out of my mind!:scared: My DW made a something like that tonight, fish sticks with cheese.:sad2:

Keep warm everyone! I sure hope you all don't get a bad ice storm! We're getting the cold weather (the high tomorrow is supposed to be 8) and of course.......drumroll please......I want it to be a surpirse.........SNOW :thumbsup2

I'm glad tomorrow is Friday!!!!

Lyzziesmom-- Glad she's home!

Well, have a good evening everyone! Stay warm!

Yay, Lyzziesmom! Emma is home!!! :dance3: So cute what she said about her crocs.

Yes, the lines at the WalMart are crazy. They aren't calling for any snow really - just ice, and lots of it. I had to go grocery shopping after work, and didn't want to do it tomorrow because it'll be really COLD (I'm a wuss), and there were NO parking spaces. All the lines were open, at all 3 or 4 deep waiting. Then I went to the Wally World for my shampoo, Advil, toothpaste, saline, etc. and it was nuts there, too. I have a headache.

Remind me never to go to the WalMart with you. :scared:
:rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl:

(BTW: Love how you call it "THE WalMart." Nice touch.)
I never noticed that - how funny!

I guess it's just this particular WalMart - some of my friends at work and I have discussed this particular one that is most convenient for many of us - it's NUTS in there, and we all feel the same way about it. My patience goes right out the window the moment I step foot in there. I wish Target were closer!!!

Do you guys remember how I've been having trouble with my washing machine overflowing through the drain in the floor? Well, it seems my plumbing problems are increasing. Yesterday when I ran the garbage disposal, everything bubbled up into the other sink. Gross. Today I tried it again, and it worked just fine. So I thought, oh good, I probably just overloaded it. Then when I ran a load of dishes in the dishwasher, I happened to be standing there and several inches of dirty water came up into both sides of the kitchen sink. Ick! And just now, I opened the dishwasher to get a bowl and discovered that it did not drain.

I'm so sick & tired of getting unexpectedly wet.

Is it only in that sink, or are there problems in other places?

Ewww. I hope you get it resolved soon!

Sewer - I have to ask... how did you decide on your username? And what's the significance of wrestling and Ohio? Curious minds want to know.

I'm a process control engineer for a wastewater treatment plant, so it seemed like a logical choice although kind'a yucky. Amature wrestling in Ohio (real wrestling) is big, we have the #1 high school team in the country. What else do we have to do in the winter? :rotfl2:

Ohhh.. OK. Real wrestling as opposed to the WWF (or whatever it is? I don't follow it) wrestling then.

I am still feeling blah. Mike and decided we are ready to have a child. We have been trying for a couple months now and I thought this month was it. Well, it's not looking promising. I've read that it can take several months, but I was really hoping that it wouldn't take long. We haven't really told people (we told his best friend, but that's the only one who knows in real life). I'm trying to keep a positive attitude, but I am just feeling a little down.

How wonderful that you and Mike are ready for a family! Relax and try not to worry too much, 2 months isn't a long time. DH and I were married 10 years before we had Nathan. Sometimes it just takes a while to get the recipe right.:goodvibes You'll make terrific parents.
BTW....Great news about the code for April!!!:woohoo:

OK, you guys are making me hungry for steak!!! We ate at a Chinese Buffet tonight. Nathan had basketball practice...we got home about an hour ago. Trying to catch up on today's posts and doing odds and ends around the house.

Angela:: Nice to see you!! Hope you start to feeling better. Great news about your weight loss. I am a firm believer in Weight Watchers. I have to be in the right frame of mind to lose weight, unfortunately i'm not in that frame of mind right now.:sad1:

Ashley:: That's terrific that Jeremiah gets Monday off. Nathan is off of school, but DH and I have to work.
It's probably a good decision to wait for a baby until you're closer to family. I can't imagine going through everything without them.:goodvibes

lyzziesmom:: How wonderful that Emma is home!!! I'll bet she looked adorable in her Disney Crocs...excuse me....Cwocs!!!;)
Eeewe!!! Sorry to hear about your plumbing problems!!! Sounds like a major blockage somewhere. Is it just the kitchen, or are there problems in the bathrooms ,too? Humm?

I'm glad somebody finally asked about your username and the explanation about wrestling. I've been fairly curious myself.

Hope everyone is enjoying their evening!!!

Hey Donna, how 'bout a clue for what you're serving for breakfast tomorrow?:rolleyes1
