Angela, I think a part-time job at the Disney store sounds like fun! You can always give it a try to see if you like it. At this time of year, it's quite likely that they are hiring seasonal positions, so it's possible that it wouldn't be too much of a commitment.

There was a mouse at work and it wasn't Mickey! We saw him on Friday, and didn't catch him until just now. My coworker put a trash can on top of him and scooted the can to the door. Well on the way to the door, the poor thing must have had a heart attack or something because when we lifted the trash can he was dead!

We had this tiny cute mouse in our old house and our older cat was playing with it, chasing it and catching it in her mouth and letting the mouse go. It had to have been a baby. Anyway I thought it was dead and just scooped it up with the dust pan and put it out by the trash can, well went back later and it was gone!! I think they can play dead convincingly. :rotfl:

Alright what do you all think about getting a part-time job at the Disney Store? They had something up in the window like "join the magic" or something really enticing. I'm thinking it would be fun 2 or 3 nights a week and the discount would be nice. This is going to sound strange but I told dh last night since I haven't worked since Connor was born I'm a little scared about committing to something. I think I might just get an application and then see how flexible they are. :teeth:
I think it would be cool. I visit our local Disney Store quite often. I like the cast members in the stores who are actually Disney fans. I say go for it and see how it goes.

Alright Pozey are you the Cardinals fan? I heard on the radio something about one of the pitchers using pine tar on the ball (or was suspected)? What's your take on that?
Yes, I am a big Cardinals fan. I didn't get to see all of the game last night, but I saw a little bit about the "stuff" on Kenny Rogers' hand. Looked like pine tar to me. Since they did not do anything to him during the game, I doubt they will do anything to him at all. I think the umps might have let him get away with it too lightly.

I do not like Kenny Rogers at all. I thought what he did to the cameraman when he was with the Texas Rangers was inexcusable.

me = jealous.

Angela- I think working at the Disney store would be cool! As Lyzziesmom said they are probably hiring for the Holiday season, so you could work there for awhile and see how you like it.

Angela, I just told Mike on Saturday that it would be fun to work there. I *think* that if you are seasonal you can get a store discount, but not the free tickets. Let me know how it goes.

It took me about 2 minutes to figure out that you were not talking about the singer! Duh!!

Amber, can you work the Mary Poppins globe? I CANNOT figure it out!

Did I tell you guys I'm a manager for The Disney Store? Ask me your questions and I'll answer whatever you need. Its great fun!!!!

LetterDavidMan, Popular, I want to be Pop-uu-lar! I love that show. To play Elphaba would be so incredible! Are you a musical theatre fan?

Linzybrooke, you need to turn it counter clock wise (turn it by using the poles that run through the horses). Did that make any sense? You need to turn it slowly though. DH had to show me

I had never seen a Mary Poppins globe ever, so I had to have it. I really wanted the Little Mermaid one too, but I had already picked the others I wanted (I do have a coupon for Nov, so I may be making a trip back) ;)

YM – Did you eat at Ted’s Saturday? How was it? We had Ted’s in OKC before the game Saturday as well.

So, how did you like Toby Keith’s? Was it good? Here’s something interesting……The guy who sits next to me at the OU games……his daughter works at Toby Keith’s I Love This Bar. She is a short blonde haired girl. She is very sweet. Her name is Gabby. How cool would that be if she had been your waitress?

The conditions at the game were miserable. Now, I am a warm natured person. I don’t mind the cold. But it was cold Saturday night. I wore a short sleeved shirt, and put on a sweatshirt over it. DW had on a tee shirt, a hooded sweatshirt, a jacket, and a coat. Then, before we went into the stadium, she wanted me to buy her an OU stocking cap. I was fine, except my hands got cold.

The guy who sits next to me (the one with the beautiful daughter who works at Toby Keith’s), and his son were FREEZING. They left at the end of the 3rd quarter. The wind was awful!

.

Hey Pozey...yes we ate at Ted's Sat pm. I think we got to our table around 6:30pm. It was yummy as usual and the boys and I took the leftovers and had them Sunday in our hotel room. I liked Toby Keith's. The atmosphere was fun...tons of TV's and one huge screen tv. My oldest and I split some St Louis ribs...they were very tender but almost too done on the outside. The ribs came with salad and two sides. The sides were pretty good. My youngest had 4oz sirloin with "freedom fires". His steak was very good. I would go back. When we go to the City we always go down to the riverwalk and goof around...the boys like the Bass Pro Shop. Have you guys ever been to the sonic that you eat inside? They like that too because you order food from phones at your table.

We watched some of the game on tv and I could feel your pain having been out in that wind several times earlier. I'm glad my DH was offered those tickets last week...wouldn't have wanted the kiddies out in the cold wind. Glad you got your DW the hat. :cold:

Donna...thanks for the breakfast. :Pinkbounc

:wave2: Howdy to all the cliqueless crew.

:wave2: hi ...sorry...we've been sick  haven't been on dis much. Poor Kenny can't keep a thing down...I can't get rid of that queezy feeling...and I cant get a cruise out of my mind :rolleyes1

but I did try to read up earlier... all I can remember to respond to right now is Kennys costume eyes.... they were stickers. He whined he'd never wear them again b/c they hurt when you take them off :) Lyzzies so cute...no his socks didn't match but that's a boy thing...they grab whatever is on top ;)...well...most of them anyway :)

Sorry...I'm hitting the couch...have a good one everybody and hope you don't get this bug!!

Oh no Linda! Sorry to hear you are all under the weather. The stomach bug has been making the rounds at work and I keep telling everyone not to breathe on me, because I have no sick time left! I hope you and Kenny feel better soon. As Lyzzie says, being sick is NO FUN.

Did I tell you guys I finally found Plum #10? I went ahead and bought #11 too since it was there. Haven't been able to start them yet, because I started a different book in the meantime and just really have had no time to read. Not that I'm complaining! :thumbsup2 (thumb)

Had a 2nd interview today and it went really REALLY well. She did everything short of handing me the job. She kept saying things like, "We were so excited when we saw your resume!" and "Nobody else had the qualifications and experience that you have" and "we are willing to pay you more than what the last person was getting since you have a lot more experience". Boy have I got them fooled! (j/k) Sure would be nice if I could manage to make more money than I am now to boot. However, the one negative is that I'd have a week less vacation time than I have now. I should find out early next week, or perhaps even later this week. I'll keep you guys updated!

2x... where are you? Back to work already, or busy recovering from WDW?

Linda:: Sorry you and Kenny have the flu bug. Hope you both get to feeling better soon!! :goodvibes

Angela:: Working at the Disney Store part-time would be a blast!!IMO
Shucks!! I was planning on seeing pictures of your kitchen! :sad2: Maybe it will be something for me to look forward to tomorrow. :teeth:
30 days until your trip!!! :yay: :woohoo: :dance3:

Amber:: I hope you get your furnace fixed soon!! Sounds like you could get cold!! :cold: Hey, girl!!! Your trip counter is at 30 days!!! :dance3: :woohoo: :yay:

lyzziesmom::I'm keeping my fingers crossed on you finding a better job!! Sending a little extra help!! pixiedust:

letterdavidman:: I don't think I've said "Hi" to you, sometimes I'm rather shy!! :welcome:

2x2s:: We would like to hear from you young lady. Hope you're feeling better. :goodvibes

Has anyone heard anything from Jill? I'm really worried about her!! Jill, if you're lurking out there, stop by and let us know you're OK!! :grouphug:

Hello to all our Cliqueless Crew!!!!

Hi Ladies!!

pozey is bach'ing it for the next 3 days. DW had to go out of town for a seminar. She won't be home until Wednesday night.

Fixed dinner, kids ate, dishes are done, homework done. Courtney is sitting at the kitchen table singing to herself and coloring. Colton and Chase are on the couch watching "Return to Halloweentown" for about the 5th time.

Uuh, pozey....bach'ing it is when you don't have the kids isn't it!!! :teeth: Is you DW's seminar in WDW??? Just curious. :goodvibes
Disney is really showing the "Halloweentown" shows a lot, that's for sure!!! I think Nathan is finally getting tired of them. He's sitting in the LR floor playing a racing board game.

Yeah, I know....I guess I'm just single dad'ing it for a few days.

No, her seminar is actually just a couple hours away in Oklahoma City. Interesting enough.......it's at some kind of dude ranch.

Actually, I enjoy the Halloweentown movies. To be honest.....I watch as much Disney Channel as the kids do..... :rolleyes1

A fan of David Letterman? Oh, yes! It was such that, years ago, when I used to attend Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana (Letterman's alma mater), it was a near-religious experience for me to walk over to the Edmond F. Ball/telecommunications building to view the plaque that bore this bit of wisdom from Mr. Letterman: "Dedicated to all 'C' students, before and after me." And a couple of years ago, one of my best friends took his first ever trip to NYC, got tickets to the Late Show, and got videoptape of both Rupert Jee and Biff Henderson saying hello to me. Absolute nirvana!

Oh, and, if I were you, I'd definitely take a close look at working at your local Disney store. I mean, yes, it is retail, but it's also being surrounded by Disneyana during your hours at work. Sounds pretty awesome.

I see you're off to the World in a month. Where are you staying?

Sure am! In fact, the two XM Radio stations I listen to the most are the On Broadway and Cinemagic channels. I love musical theatre, and, though I haven't done any plays in ten years, I'd love to audition for a local production. My dream roles would be Sweeney Todd (from, of course, Sweeney Todd, The Demon Barber of Fleet Street) and Tevye (from Fiddler on the Roof).

So are you a musical theatre fan? What are, say, your top five favorite musicals?

DonnaLeah--Hello back at you! :) And don't worry about being shy. I'm one of the shyest people I know. But you all are exceptionally freindly people, I must say. I haven't felt more pleasant recently than I have reading some of the warm posts welcoming me to this thread. :goodvibes

I do thank you! :thumbsup2

I think I will go by Disney tomorrow when Ben is at Mothers Day Out and get an application it can't hurt and like my dh said I would love it! :thumbsup2 We are going to stay at Port Orleans Riverside, it's our first time on site and I'm pumped and of course the kids are still in the dark and have no clue! I actually need to get serious about planning my days (since I'm a tourguidemike fan) because the days will go by quickly! :goodvibes
