There is a new sign up saying that we have a Fresh Market coming soon. I googled it and know it is a grocery store. But how do the prices compare to your other local grocery stores?

I mainly go there for meats. Generally their price per pound runs about ten cents a pound more than Publix. But if they sometimes their meat prices can be cheaper than Publix. On other items, I am not quite sure. Overall, I don't think they are much more expensive than Publix. They are about half the size of Publix (at least the one shop at is).

We have one. It's WAY more expensive than a regular grocery store chain, anyway the ones around here. They sell mostly high end & gourmet items. I ran over once to grab Rice Krispies because I needed them to make Rice Krispie treats in the next few hours - it was $5.79 for the same box I'd pay $2.99 for at my regular store.

They do, however, have insanely good gourmet prepared foods, salads, sandwiches, meats, seafood, etc. So if you like to splurge on those items, you will be very happy. It's just not the kind of place to do your regular shopping at. I stopped in after work tonight because I had to have blueberries for something in the morning, and a 6 oz. conatiner (a few bites) was $4.99. They're only $2.99 at my local grocery store but that would have been out of my way tonight.

Ours can be significantly higher than our Publix, especially on specialty items and non grocery items. Some produce can be less expensive though. I really like their variety of premade deli items. You have to know what items cost other places before you shop here. Also, biggest piece of advice: don't go there hungry!

It's definitely a specialty store. It's very nice, but also small. It reminds me of a cross between Trader Joe's & Whole Foods - lots of organic and natural food type items and some more unique things as well (they have a nice bulk candy / nuts section). They also have a nice dessert case at ours. We love their cornbread and other breads and their prepared meats in the case (like stuffed chicken breasts). Prices are higher than our normal stores (Wegman's, Safeway) and we only stop there a few times a year.

Very expensive but excellent quality. Sometimes you can find good deals on meat or seafood. I really like their bakery items (especially the cheddar rolls!)

You can also find veggies there that are more difficult to find at other stores.

I love it but can't afford to stop there often. I just end up buying tons of stuff I really don't need!

Their meat is fabulous. Best I've had.

I personally don't like their bakery goods - but then I'm a baker and prefer homemade.

Produce is very good but very expensive.

If I were to do all my shopping there I'd be spending about 50% more than a regular grocery store.

I've been to one before and we have one opening nearby in a week or two.I know that it's higher end grocery store but the one I went to wasn't as big as the Whole Foods closest to us.The new Fresh Market that's opening looks to be bigger so I can't wait to check it out.We still do most of our shopping at Publix,Winn Dixie,Wal Mart and Super Target in that order as the Whole Foods and Fresh Market will still be 15-20 minutes away versus the Publix stores that we have about 7-8 different ones within a 15 minute drive with the closest one about 2 minutes away.We still go to Whole Foods for some specialty items or to get a bite to eat.

It's Albertson's redone...if you've ever had one of those. Good, but expensive.

It's insanely expensive. I've been the one that recently opened near me a couple of times and walked out scratching my head that anyone would shop there.

More expensive then your basic grocery store, but cheaper then Earth Fair. When they have sales, it can bring their prices in line with our local grocery store. However, the quality is amazing. Many different cuts of meat and fish. Deli and bakery are wonderful. Plus, they carry some stuff I can't get at the local grocery I normally shop at.

Wow - the Fresh Market near me is absolutely nothing like the Albertson's near my house in Florida. That was much more like a smaller Publix.

(I should add that I have only been in one Albertson's and one Fresh Market.)

I agree we used to have Albertsons here and they were nothing like the Fresh Market I've been to.Fresh Market is a high end specialty smaller grocery store and the Albertsons had a much more typical grocery store feel.Maybe I'm wrong about it though as I also recall visiting two different Krogers and two different Safeways and I don't know if one was newer or in a more upscale areas but I remember my first visits to both Krogers and Safeway really liking them and just getting a cheaper Whole Foods vibe from both, then I visited others that were older and they just seemed like regular grocery stores.

They're expensive, but have super yummy prepared foods. Do not go there when you're hungry!!!

They are more expensive.

We never go unless we want a treat for dessert so Delicious!!!!!

We are regular FM shoppers. Yes, they are pricier but we're about an hour away from the nearest Whole Foods and we eat very conscientiously. FM is just about the best place we have to get clean meat, organic produce, gluten free, dairy free etc foods. The store is lovely, very clean, and the employees are very well trained.

We have one in Boca Raton. It's smaller and more expensive than Publix. I like it because it's smaller and you can just run in when you need something.

They are like Whole Foods in price.

They're pricy on a lot of things, but the prepared foods are good and priced well for their quality. The meats are good, too.

Their produce is not so great. I swear they refrigerate their tomatoes - they're mealy and have no flavor. And the asparagus shrivels up quickly. And last spring I bought some apples there that had been overwintered.

Thank you everyone! I am in Florida. We have Winn Dixie, Publix and Walmart for big box grocery stores. Our Targets are all getting grocery sections. It doesn't sound like Fresh Market is somewhere we would shop often. We have a fantastic butcher shop that has great hormone free meats. All seafood (:crazy2: I don't like it) is bought fresh down at the water. And we have two great places for the gourmet/hard to find foods that we already don't go to often.

Fruit is very pricey....and they have no paper products or soaps etc

I love their sushi and fresh salads for lunch-instead of Fast Food:thumbsup2
