I decided against the MyPoints Mastercard. They only offer one point for every $2 that you spend. That means that to get a $25 webbie (3500 points), I would have to have spent $7,000. Since I cash out for webbies at MyPoints, this didn't seem like a great deal.
I have the Chase-i Mastercard instead. It pays in webbies, $1 for every $100 spent (1% back). For $7,000 in spending, I would earn $70 in webbies. That's a huge difference! And the webbies are sent automatically every time my total spending reaches the $1,000 or more mark. I don't have to cash in and wait. They arrive every month.
If you're using your points for GCs or other rewards at MyPoints, you may want to research the various rewards-type credit cards that are out there. Most will pay back at a rate of at least 1%, with some offering as much as 5% back if you carry a balance. Some offer cashback on a yearly basis while others give you points or miles for your purchases. Those can be exchanged for GCs, car rentals, hotel stays and airline tickets. I'd have to say that just about all of them have a better payback ratio than the MyPoints card.
