Who has the BEST steak dinner at WDW?

Haven't made it to all of them yet, but of the ones I have, I'd have to say Le Cellier and Citrico's.

Le Cellier's steaks are great. The California Grill also has a fantastic steak. Yachtsman Steakhouse is good, but I wouldn't put it on par with Le Cellier and CG. I was surprisingly disappointed with Shula's, but maybe I just had a bad experience there. People also mentioned the Brown Derby. Their steaks are good, but since they're not particularly known for fantastic steaks (at least to my knowledge) I wouldn't say they're the best.

Great advice everyone, we're looking at steakhouses and we're really not sure which one to pick, there are just so many wonderful sounding choices!

One question, my OH is picky in the extreme, he will not eat any vegetables except potatoes and won't have any kind of sauce/seasoning on his steak. Which (if any) of WDW's steakhouses would be prepared to serve him with a plain steak (if he chose a cut off the menu) and fries (I've checked the kids menu's for a few places and most will serve kids fries so I'm presuming they have the ability to cook them instead?)
le cellier mad e my picky ds 12 a plain steak and plain mashed potatos i believer they did not have fries. the new york steak at le cellier was as tender as a filet great steak. also the filet at concourse was wonderful also made plain meat for picky eater.

Shula's Steakhouse has EXCELLENT steak but it's pretty pricey. Le cellier steakhouse is really good as well.

OT, but what (or who, lol) is "OH?"

IMO I like:
filet at Brown Derby
buffalo steak at Artist Point
ny strip at Tony's

mmmm can't wait to go back. It's breakfast time now and I really could go for one of those steaks!!!! :lmao:

I've haven't eaten at Shula's but we regularly go to the following and I have ranked them in order of preference.

Yachtsman
Le Cellier
Brown Derby

I have to go with Le Cellier Steakhouse in Canada and the Yachtmans Steakhouse at the Yacht and Beach Club Resorts... mighty fine eats!!!

Any restaurant will serve steak without sauce or sauce on the side...all you have to do is ask :)

We were just to Yachtsman's Steakhouse, we thought is was just ok. We love a great steak too! I know YSH gets great reviews but it missed the mark for us..for $150 (b4 tip) for 2 it was just mediocre. When we wnet it was not busy season, but the service was a bit slow, the potatoes were cold and the steak was not high end steakhouse steak. We don't mind paying for great food, and have paid much more for steak dinners but they were worth it. We had to almost beg for more drinks. I thought the restaurant tries too hard to be big grown up steakhouse like. It is misleading as we were anticipating a great steak dinner. When you walk in you see the meat room, and the bar looks steakhous-y...but it was a letdown. I am comparing YSH to my favorite steakhouses..Morton's, The Palm and a restaurant by us Rothmanns.

We will most definately be trying Shula's Steakhouse next visit. It always gets better reviews than YSH. Try doing a search and see if it interests you.

The best steak I have ever had – and I usually order steak at most meals – was the Filet Mignon at Artist Point in the Wilderness Lodge. It was wonderful. One of the best meals I have ever had.

When did you have this? Last time I was at Artist Point (last month) it wasn't on the menu, and I don't recall it from any of our many other visits. The do have a beef tenderloin that's pretty good. And the Buffalo steak is also worth getting.

WOW! we might have to go out for steak 5 times to try all of these places. Thanks everybody.

If you're going to Artist Point I think the Buffalo Steak is superior to the filet. I'm not a filet person admittedly, but the buffalo steak is tremendous.

Has anyone mentioned the Charred NY Strip at FF in this thread? It is, in my book the best single steak at WDW. Shula's has better quality over an entire line and the filet at Jiko is cut with a butter knife (impressive).

The last time we ate at Artist Point was in 2002. So, it was a few years ago.

Looks like it has been replaced by the tenderloin. Besides they are basically the same cut of beef. The Filet is just a small cut of the Tenderloin.

I guess I would have to ask if it was just you and your husband or if you have kids that will be going as well, because in my experience that can make a big difference.

IMO
The best tasting steak was at Yatchsman. But I agree with a previous poster that the service was a bit slow. That would have been alright with the wife and I, but with the kids they got bored and tired of sitting.

Our entire family loves LeCellier. Very close to being the best tasting and the service is great. Don't forget the Beer Cheese Soup to go along with your breadsticks, yum.

I also liked the Filet at the Brown Derby, very tasty, but it has been a couple of years since we had that.

We used to like the concourse, but the couple of times have been dissappointing. Still fun to eat and watch the momorails go by. This is traditionally the first place we eat at the day we arrice and then ride the monorail over to the MK for the evening. There is something about the Contemporary and memories of going through it as a kid that makes it special.

Never has Shula's at Disney, but I have eaten at the one in Chicago and thought it was pricey for what you got. Also, not very kid friendly.

Enjoy, I am sure you will enjoy wherever you choose.

For you Concourse people, the menu sounds great, but upon reading the reviews on allears, someone posted that it was visually unappealing. Is that right? I've never been to the Contem.

For our final Table Service, I'm trying to decide on Concourse, Big River Grill, or Whispering Canyon Cafe. I'm afraid we're going to be disappointed with Whispering Canyon since we're not really into the antics.

Are you asking if the food is unappealing or the atmosphere? The dining area, itself, is nothing special, IMO. The food looked good. The food tasted good. The service was lacking when we were there, but it was Superbowl Sunday at 6:30pm, so that might have had something to do with it.

If you don't like antics during your meal, I would definitely skip WCC.
