Who has more executive eperience?

Which candidate of either these two, has more experience at being the executive?

  • Obama

  • Palin

Results are only viewable after voting.
Gee, why not run a parallel poll and ask which one is more male, or black? No one is questioning whether she has more 'executive' experience, ie, running a state as governor. But, generally, that has nothing to do with the prices of oranges.
Btw, since you are running a vp choice against a pres choice, shouldn't McCain's name be there?
Or how about running the two of them neck and neck? But, then, that wouldn't give you the numbers you want to 'prove' your point.

Just to make a point that our VP choice has more experience than your pres choice. I am sorry the poll results are not to your liking.:rolleyes1

And the McCain/Palin ticket COMBINED has more experience than the Obama/Biden ticket COMBINED. :thumbsup2

Interesting the the Republicans consider being a governor a wonderful experience and qualification for being a potential POTUS. If that that is true, then there are many, many more Republicans out there who are significantly more qualified than either of the Republicans on the ballot. ;) They don't want their most qualified people for the office?

Agreed :)

I thought the question was who has more exec experience :confused3

Mr. Obama served 8 years as a State Senator in a highly populated state (Illinois). He has been a US Senator since 2005. That is over 10 years of significant political experience.

Ms. Palin has spent less than two years as the governor of one of the least populated states in the union. (The entire state of Alaska has 1/4 the population of the city of Chicago.) Prior to that she was mayor of a town with a population less than 10,000.

How on earth can anyone think Ms. Palin has more experience than Mr. Obama? Spin it all you want, but the facts remain.

Mary

so you want someone with no experience in office who would be in charge of the most powerful nation in the world? That doesn't seem very smart.

We let a NOT VERY SMART C student do it for 8 years. Now look at us. He looks like your avatar!

Because senators don't do anything but talk. (I know, I know, McCain's a senator, too). I don't need an "experienced politician" because that is meaningless. I need someone who has been a LEADER like McCain as an officer in the military, as a leader in the Senate confronting the status quo in his own party and crossing party lines and getting things done, and like a governor who LEADS her state government every day.

Then to answer the "who has more executive experience question", on the Republican side, John Hovern of North Dakota should be the Presidential Nominee, with Rick Perry of TX as VP, right? Assuming they are looking for the candidates with the most executive experience as Governor. So then the question, if the poll has any merit, is why are the Republicans running a Presidential ticket with a President that has "no executive experience" and a VP with only nominal experience? I mean, if we are to draw a conclusion, as implied as the purpose of the poll, that "executive experience" equals qualification for President, it is the logical extrapolation

When I speak with my father figure on Monday, I'll ask him for some stories from when they went to Yale together. From what I gather from his stories, GWB was a complete airhead even back then.

Is this a trick question? We all know Obama has no executive experience but, he's really good at reading a teleprompter.

I'm not interested in the more experienced candidate this election. Look what the past 7 years of experienced leadership has given us.

No attacks on the USA since 9/11
Lower taxes
Lower interest rates
Lower average unemployment rate
More done for AIDS than any other administration in history.
We are closing in on victory in Iraq
No recession, despite the democrats wishing for one.

.

But, if the question is truly which of the two people listed in the poll has the most experience as THE executive the answer is neither. And there are only two people living, one Democrat, one Republican, that could run that have ANY experience at all. Both of them had 4 year terms and were not re-elected, even though they ran on their parties ticket.

Historians will definitely be kinder to George W. Bush, than any of the left leaning media outlets. That's the problem with politics today. There are few left than can have an honest disagreement.

10% of then time over the past 8 years :)

Show me one piece of major legislation Obama has sponsored in the last ten years for which he was able to obtain significant support (co-sponsors) from the other side of the aisle.

He claims to bring a new type of politics and to champion an end to partisanship, yet has no evidence of ever having done either. He votes party line on the easy stuff, present on the hard stuff and can't even unify his own party. WHen it comes time to choose a VP, he picks a 30-year Washington insider.

This is change?

I completely agree. Look for the libs to implode again a few years down the road when GWB starts climbing up in the "best president" polls, just like Reagan did. He confronted the worldwide global jihadist movement, for heaven's sake! Yup, history is going to treat GWB just fine. That's why I always kind of smile when someone goes all Bush Derangement on me. I picture their hysteria down the road when reasoned and rational thinking is restored to the discussions of Bush.

You are hilarious :)

Blatant holes in US security, with no non-circumstancial evidence that the measures are working
Higher rate of home foreclosures (possibly the highest, but I'm not 100% certain)
Greatest federal debt in the history of our country
Lowest world-wide standing in recent history
Lowest presidential approval rating

Exactly. Ronald Reagan was vilified in the press and through out Europe. After his death however, the importance of his legacy and his core values in shaping the world long after he left the White House, has been much appreciated.
