Interesting the the Republicans consider being a governor a wonderful experience and qualification for being a potential POTUS. If that that is true, then there are many, many more Republicans out there who are significantly more qualified than either of the Republicans on the ballot. ;) They don't want their most qualified people for the office?

By the same token, do you concede that there are approximately 80 other US Senators, 40 Governors, 300 Congressmen that are better qualified and more experienced than Sen Obama? Heck, Michael Moore has more executive experience than Sen Obama, and he's got the same beliefs!

No attacks on the USA since 9/11
No attacks on the USA since 1941 and 1993, either.
Lower taxes
For those earning more than $250,000 per year
Lower interest rates
Yeah, I'm loving that 1.5% on my savings account
Lower average unemployment rate
Maybe in your state. Not in mine. We're at 8.5% and that's not counting those who've fallen off the record because they've exhausted their benefits.
More done for AIDS than any other administration in history.
People dying because they have no health care, which lowers the total amount of AIDS cases, doesn't count
We are closing in on victory in Iraq
There will never by a "victory" in Iraq. Once we leave civil war will break out. Guaranteed.
No recession, despite the democrats wishing for one.
No one wishes for a recession. You can keep repeating that all you like, but saying it 10,000 times doesn't make it true. Kind of like McCain saying this President has done a great job.

Like failed Presidencies, recessions happen. They go hand-in-hand. I wouldn't count the past few months as "growth" because it seems the GDP rate is falling faster than the housing market now that all those checks have been spent.

You are hilarious :)

Blatant holes in US security, with no non-circumstancial evidence that the measures are working
Higher rate of home foreclosures (possibly the highest, but I'm not 100% certain)
Greatest federal debt in the history of our country
Lowest world-wide standing in recent history
Lowest presidential approval rating

Do you just make this stuff up as you go? :rotfl2:

Why not? Dawn does. :rotfl:

After his death however, the importance of his legacy and his core values in shaping the world long after he left the White House, has been much appreciated.
Only by the Republican party, sweetie. Just like pillow talk, nice things said at a funeral aren't always the truth. They're just said to comfort the family left behind.

Only the gullible, foolish or people on the pageant circuit actually believe them.

There will always be "holes" in a free society, but the fact that terrorists have not given up their quest to attack us, and yet, there have been no attacks on the homeland, clearly demonstrates a good measure of success. Home foreclosures are not the fault of the president but the fault of individuals who bought what they couldn't afford. Debt is measured in relation to GDP, thus, we are doing fine. I could care less what the socialists countries and dictatorships around the world think of us. If they like us too much, we are doing something wrong.
A president who is using polling and focus groups to be liked, is not being a leader.

Obviously Governor Palin has more experience in that arena. She has been in an elected position since 1992. Obama has been in the senate for 4 years. The entire four years have been spent planning his presidential run.

I have still yet to hear the answer to this SIMPLE question. Name ONE thing Obama has done in those four years. A bill he got passed, etc, anything!! Despite all his campaigning, I have not learned of a single issue he feels strongly about. At least w/ Hillary, she was clear about what her intentions were. This guy is nothing but nuances and inneuendos.

Only if I were to actually consider being a governor as being better qualified to be President. Democrats don't seem to follow that line of reasoning that a being a governor = being a better President. It is the Republicans using that logic.

However, if Republicans really believe being governor gives someone an edge or makes them better qualified, again I ask, why they didn't pick the person they would logically consider to be the best qualified Republican to run for President?

Heck, that would make Romney better qualified to be a Republican President than McCain, and you guys didn't pick him.

You can't say that having experience as a governor makes a person better qualified to be president, and then say that your candidates are the best qualified in your party, if there are other Republicans with more experience as a governor, can you? So why didn't the Republicans pick the best candidates in their party, Hovern and Perry, to run for President?

I hate to give this away, but most Americans do not care what the French and the Germans and the Mexicans and others think of us. We really do not care. Most of their enmity is garden variety envy, and the vast majority of Americans understand that. They see that "everyone hates us" (which they've heard) directly contradicts with "everyone's trying to get in here illegally" (which they've seen). Really, dems need to stop with the "Europeans don't like us!" argument. It's a real stinker. We do not care.

Maybe in a dictatorship :) But in a democracy, when a majority public disagrees with the president, he needs to change what he's doing or get out. Hence why we have a lame duck president.

That would be BETWEEN 1941 & 1993. And that's not exactly the case either, considering embassies are US soil. But, don't let the facts get in the way.

Yeah, it's awesome for those of us who borrow money, to buy a new home or expand our businesses. But, don't let the facts about BOTH sides of lower interest rates get in the way.
Lower average unemployment rate

Since when is it the government's job to create jobs? Maybe the reason that there's so much unemployment in your state is because unions put businesses out of business. But, don't let the whole story get in the way of the facts.

When the facts get in the way, change the argument. Even Bono can give GWB props. But, maybe he doesn't let the facts get in the way.

You guys REALLY want us to LOSE, don't you. You will not be happy if we win! Sad, guaranteed.

Are we in a recession? Or, are you just trying to spin the truth. Please post some facts (for a change).

:lmao:

We don't live in a democracy. It's a representative republic. For the EXACT reason you stated above. Mob rule does not work.

"Heck, that would make Romney better qualified to be a Republican President than McCain, and you guys didn't pick him."

I agree with you. McCain was never my top choice. I actually don't care for him or most of his political views. Obama is just scary. I'm surprised more liberals aren't voting for McCain, since he has democrat tendencies/ideals. However, they don't always look at things logically. Rather, they see the R in front of his name, and figure he's "bad." If any liberal took the time to look at his record, they would find a lot of similarities.

Rayel, I was just about to point out the same thing. It's funny when I hear people constantly quoting that we are a "democracy." Just goes to show the stellar job our public schools are doing.

So much for Diplomacy being a qualification for President, huh? No wonder we have senseless war to deal with.

The US is a constitutional republic that relies on representative democracy

We're both right.

Actually McCain is not nearly as liberal in his views as he was 4 years ago. I would have voted for him then. His views and promises have been driven by the extreme right of the party for this election, and his VP choice illustrates that...no way could I vote for him now. His past record is no longer relevant, unfortunately. He is merely a puppet on a string, now.

I really think this is true of both parties. The candidates are not the ones calling the shots at all. It's the party big wigs. They really don't care who the candidate is, as long as their party wins. The individual faces don't matter, they are just there to fill out the suit.

My decision to vote Obama isn't because I like him, or think he is the best my party has to offer. The big prize here is the Supreme Court, Roe V Wade, gay rights, privacy rights all are at stake, and have nothing to do with the respective Presidential candidates, only the overall political philosophy.

I agree entirely with you.

Historians will definitely be kinder to George W. Bush, than any of the left leaning media outlets. That's the problem with politics today. There are few left than can have an honest disagreement.

Historians look at the whole picture, and not political spin. What he has now is the best he'll ever get. It's going to be downhill from now on for him.

We always have a "lame duck president" in the last year of a second term.
