We may go to WDW for our 20th anniversary. We love staying at WL, but have never been just as a couple. We are on the verge of being empty-nesters - our son graduates high school May 23 and he is an only. We would be going in June for our anniversary.

Would we love a honeymoon room for our anniversary? Any other suggestions of romantic places to stay. What kind of romantic cruises can you take and about how much are they?

Our very first trip to The World, in 1996, was for our 10th anniversary. We stayed at the Grand Floridian -- and loved every minute of it. :Pinkbounc

We had a regular room, not a suite, but it was a dormer, on a corner, so we had two balconies and an EXQUISITE view of the Magic Kingdom. (We were in Conch Key, I believe).

A few of the fun & romantic things we did: dinner at Victoria & Albert's...a "fireworks cruise" on the lagoon with champagne and strawberries...room service breakfast (at the GF, it's a stunner, with the full white glove treatment!)...AND we renewed our wedding vows, in the gazebo at the Yacht Club. That's where they handle smaller ceremonies ... and ours was VERY small. Just the two of us :D .

Go and enjoy!! And congratulations!

My DW and I celebrated #25 this year at Disney. We stayed at VWL in a 1-bedroom suite. We had access to the concierge level at WL (we were on the Grand Plan). It was wonderful!

We did the rehitching ceremony at the Garden Grille (Epcot); had an anniversary Illuminations cruise (which was magnificent thanks to Captain Kim -- she took us on a cruise over to MGM to catch the finale of Fantasmic!); we went to Hoop Dee Doo; had a number of wonderful meals.

Whatever you decide to do, I am sure it will be a magical and memorable anniversary!

We will be celebrating our 25th anniversary at SuperClub Breezes in the Bahamas! :D

We just celebrated our 15th Anniversary at Beach Club Villas. It was fantastic!

Well, it was a few weeks short of our anniversary, and the trip was actually a belated birthday gift from DH to me, but it was a romantic getaway without the kids, just for 1 night before a cruise. We stayed at the Poly for a few reasons. One, I LOVE it there and I think its very romantic and beautiful. Two, that is where we stayed on our honeymoon and since this was our first trip alone since then, I loved the idea of going back there. And three, we were planning on spending most of that day at the resort and since we love the beach and pool, the view, and the Kona Cafe(where we had dinner & breakfast) there, we wanted to enjoy all that. The Poly did not disappoint! :)

We spent our honeymoon at the Beach Club, we had a nice private room (private balcony, king room at the end of the hall) overlooking the quiet pool. We stay at the S/D a lot now and everytime we pass the BC I always look up to the balcony of that room and it brings back nice memories:)

We splurged on dinner every night (although by the end of the week our stomachs paid for that:rolleyes: )...some of the places we ate at were Yachtsman Steakhouse, Narcoossee's, Artist Point, Flagler's (now Citrico's), & Teppanyaki at Japan.

Be sure to call the WDW florist and have a floral arrangement sent to your room, it adds a nice touch (worth the $). I did tell the CM at CRO at the time that we were going on our honeymoon. The hotel had a nice wine and cheese basket waiting in our room which was a nice little perk.

My wife and I spent our honeymoon in WDW and we have spent almost every anniversary there as well... I have to say that of all the places I have stayed the BC was my fav (for anniversary trips anyways) Location is great, the rooms are well themed.

But as I am typing this my wife is looking over my shoulder telling me to say that her fav is the GF she enjoyed the quiet seclusion and the ambience there better then the busy traffic of the board walk and epcot.

I don't know, my suggestion is that wherever you end up staying be sure to always mention that you are celebrating your anniversary. Tell them at the front desk, tell your waiter/waitress, tell them at guest services (ok I haven't ever done that but you could I guess). It may seem redundant and annoying but trust me they will make it very worth your while.

PS... if you don't enjoy being embarassed don't go to whispering canyons, or if you do plan on going there just cross your fingers you don't get a waiter who will make you sing a love song to your spouse loud enough for the entire resteraunt and hotel lobby to hear!!!

Thanks for all your good ideas and experiences! I want to plan something memorable for the two of us. It's been a great 20 years.

We celebrated our 10th Anniversary last summer at the DI.
We had a bungalow overlooking a lake, so we had visits from a mommy duck and her baby ducks every morning. DI was beautiful very relaxed and with wonderful CM's. They sent us a beautiful floral display in an etched vase, a card from Mickey and Minnie and balloons. We also had a wonderful mousekeeper who left cuddly towel critters every day for us. We ate most of our meals at the Gathering Place and found the atmosphere to be to our liking. Low key quiet and comfy. We also tried the DI spa which you should definitely try. We did it on our arrival day, great way to unwind after a car trip.
We are actually in the process of planning our 15th, we will be going back to WDW.
Imagine that.

We spent our 2nd, 4th, 6th, 8th, and in 29 days we will be celebrating our 10th anniversary at the WL. In our opinion, you just can't beat it. We love everything about the resort. Be sure to tell them at check in that you are celebrating your anniversary and hopefully they will do something magical for you.
